Kari Arnason

Loved his Red Tv interview. "There was not enough hunger in the team." "There is not enough hunger to want to score."

" We need to have a goal to win and if people are not willing to take players on and go in and win tackles they should not be on the pitch. Players who are having a bad game need to get into the game, instead they go and hide and this should not happen"

"We are all mates at the club but if someone is not contributing we need to tell  them"

Superb stuff. just hope he said it in the dressing room.

Good on him, as others have said I hope he said it to the team. Nice to see some professionalism from someone at AFC.

Strong words from #Aberdeen's Kari Arnason. One quote: "We were so flat against #Motherwell. There were people just ******* standing there!"

Arnason: "If you're having a poor game, you need to at least be throwing yourself into tackles...." #Aberdeen #captainmaterial ?

Not surprised to read Kari Arnason's comments today, he was visably continually annoyed by his team-mates on Saturday #Aberdeen

Can we name some names that he was annoyed at in partuclar? Just so I know who to BOOOOO on Friday.

Rob Milsom attracted most of my anger.

Yet he's going to sign a pre-contact somewhere else come January.

I would be stunned (and delighted) if this was not the case.

Me too.

Which is why he'll be off.

Kari Arnason would love to sign a new deal with Aberdeen

Aberdeen’s Icelandic midfielder Kari Arnason wants to stay at Pittodrie.

Dons manager Craig Brown, who signed Arnason on a one-year deal in July, has expressed his desire to keep the former Plymouth Argyle midfielder and the player is keen on extending his stay.

Can't say that little snippet says much.

Standard out of contract player statement we have seen about nearly every out of contract player for the last 5 years.

Standard AFC situation. Would be surprised if we manage to hang on to Arnason. The decision to give him a one year contract in the first place was a joke.

What if that's all he was willing to sign?

To be honest, im sure that's the most likely situation. So i take it noone readthe article? I hate this subscription malarky  :hammer:

I suspect that this may well have been the case.

Arnason moves closer to new Aberdeen FC deal

Talks with agent are continuing

ABERDEEN FC have stepped up their efforts to persuade star midfielder Kari Arnason to stay at Pittodrie.

Arnason’s agent, former Aberdeen defender David Winnie, today confirmed he has held talks with the club about a new contract.

The Icelandic international, whose Aberdeen FC contract expires in the summer, has already made it clear he wants to stay.

Fingers crossed.

Not to be cynical but a player on a 1 year contract facing a prossible bad injury suddenly being keen to extend the deal he is already on doesnt surprise me

he said some time ago he wanted to stay.

I'm sure his mind will change when he sees the shite offer the club make him.  ::)

Bad injury? Thought he'd tweeked his hamstring?

Thats what I thought, though they were supposed to be doing tests on it yesterday I thought.

Either way, I hope he signs up.

Bad injury? Thought he'd tweeked his hamstring?

Aye but at first we were hearing it was a hamstring tear. And the truth is until they tell us what this scan showed we don't really know.

Arnason close to comeback with Aberdeen FC

Kari responding well to treatment

ABERDEEN FC were today boosted by the news star midfielder Kari Arnason has moved closer to making a comeback.

The Icelandic international was sorely missed as Aberdeen FC lost 2-1 at home to Motherwell in the SPL.

There were fears Arnason could be ruled out for six weeks after suffering a torn hamstring in training, but boss Craig Brown confirmed Arnason has responded well to treatment.

Not really saying when he will be back in that though.
