Apologies if discussed elsewhere on the site, but it appears as if McGinn's move back to the North East is two-fold. Playing for Peterhead but also appears to have a gig with AFC as U17 coach. Quote

They must have dropped a bit of money on him as see the fee was only circa £800k. Can regularly be a bomb scare, but when he cuts out the shite a decent enough defender at Scottish domestic level. I remember watching when he was on loan at Edinburgh City as a youngster and thinking he will be some player once he cuts out the school boy errors. Sad thing he has never cut out the brain fart moments. Quote
Jute Posted August 6 Report Posted August 6 Hibs sell Lewis Miller to Blackburn and confirm signing of Grant Hanley. Hanley and Bushiri at the back for Hibs will make watching them a wild ride. 2 Quote
Jute Posted August 7 Report Posted August 7 St Mirren sign Keanu Baccus back from Mansfield on a two year deal. Another I would have liked us to sign in his first spell at St Mirren. Decent signing for them. Quote
Jute Posted August 8 Report Posted August 8 Dundee sign Yan Dandha on loan from Hearts. A player I would have taken at us when he was at County. Probably too many players in the position he plays. Quote

Not sure he'll manage that at Dundee, but maybe. Quote
Jute Posted August 10 Report Posted August 10 Not a transfer as such but I see Hearts have agreed a cooperation loan with St Johnstone. Bit surprised we haven’t arranged one with a championship side. Quote

The problem for hearts with getting Saints, is that they'll still have some decent players and have the parachute payment from the premier. A young loanee from Hearts probably isn't going to get a huge number of minutes in their first team, especially when they'll be aiming to win the league. Quote

Did they not take a player from them just last week ? Not sure if he played for them or not on Friday evening. Quote

Aye I did think that was one of the issues with the cooperation loans is that a team looking at promotion might not want players who might not be available to them every week. Quote

Aye, so it's whether you "waste" a cooperation loan on a team in order to get one player some minutes. Hearts maybe have one young player that would get into the Saints team, and they might feel obliged to send them another two, for the sake of the cooperation, who might just gather dust on the bench. All three might have got a game for, say, Airdrie. In terms of us, I don't think we have three youngsters that would get into a championship side, so perhaps it's worthless. Marshall at Arbroath, alongside Lobban would work, then you'd have one other perhaps just being sent to make up the numbers. I think Lobban would get in to a decent County side though, so you'd likely be underselling him (and I'm not sure he'll be going on loan). To be honest, the whole thing is maybe just designed to increase the gap between top and second leagues. If Saints take three young Hearts players, for example, that doesn't say much about the viability of their squad. Quote
RicoS321 Posted August 11 Report Posted August 11 "Heart of Midlothian are considering recalling 20-year-old Adam Forrester from his loan to St Johnstone after Christian Borchgrevink was ruled out for a number of weeks with a thigh injury, leaving the Premiership club short at right-back. (Edinburgh Evening News)" Looks like the link up is working well! Quote
