Aberdeen Football Club has reacted angrily to some of this morning's newspaper reports alleging that striker Chris Maguire had been knocked unconscious in the incident on Tuesday evening that left midfielder Mark Kerr requiring hospital treatment.

A spokesman commented. "Chris was not involved in any altercation on Tuesday night and was most certainly not knocked unconscious. As we have already stated, some of the players were out on a social evening ahead of their day off on Wednesday and there was a minor incident in a city centre club. Subsequently, there was a more serious incident in the street which resulted in Mark receiving injuries which needed treatment in hospital. No other Aberdeen Football Club employee was in any way injured and it is extremely disappointing that some media outlets have chosen to ignore the facts."

Typical shitey journalism as usual then from certain papers

Seems the Hearts players want in on the act too. Guess they think this is how clubs with european ambitions should act!

Fae the bbc sport pages:

Hearts defender Lee Wallace has appeared in court on breach of the peace charges that include threatening to shoot door staff at a nightclub.

The 21-year-old, who lives in Edinburgh, pled not guilty to the three charges and was released on bail.

At Edinburgh Sheriff Court, he denied shouting and swearing at staff at the Lava and Ignite club, refusing to leave and threatening to shoot door staff.

He also denied threatening police officers. Trial was set for 30 October.

An Aberdeen footballer has appeared in court charged with assaulting two men at a nightclub.

Mark Kerr, 26, is alleged to have attacked the two men at The Priory in the city's Belmont Street.

The midfielder, originally from Airdrie, is accused of seizing Robert Hay, 23, by the throat, and punching 26-year-old John Robb.

He denied two charges of assault at Aberdeen Sheriff Court. His trial was continued until November.

Tons of neds in every town but the three players known to be there - Kerr, Maguire and McDonald are all from Glasgow/Greater Glasgow. I dont give shit what any of our players are like off the park so long as it does not affect their performance on the pitch or bring the clubs name down. I like Mark Kerr he was a bit of a ned but was the friendliest of the players to us pre-season and when the rest of the guys of the pre-season saw him out for a stag do in Edinburgh he came across to them and bought them drinks. Hopefully he and the rest of the players were innocent but I wouldnt be shocked if they wernt, saying that there are two of them lifted and only Kerr.

mark kerr is from airdrie.

FAIL!

jizzbag!
