Delay for Aberdeen FC player’s court case

Mark Kerr denies charges

Published: 20/10/2009

THE case against an Aberdeen FC football player accused of two assaults in Aberdeen city centre has been delayed.

Aberdeen FC midfielder Mark Kerr appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court and was alleged to have assaulted Robert Hay and John Robb inside and outside the Priory, in Belmont Street, on May 20.

Mark Kerr, 27, was accused of seizing Mr Hay by the throat inside the Aberdeen nightclub and struggling with him and door stewards who were trying to eject him.

Kerr denied all the charges at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday and the case was continued until next Tuesday.

Aberdeen football captain Mark Kerr has been fined £250 after an incident at a city nightclub.

The Pittodrie club's skipper admitted breach of the peace by acting in a disorderly manner during a disturbance last May.

Kerr, who was fined at Aberdeen Sheriff Court, arrived on a free transfer from Dundee United and was later named captain.

A spokesman for Aberdeen Football Club declined to comment on the case.

Men attacked Aberdeen FC’s Mark Kerr

Pair fined after fight outside The Priory

Published: 18/03/2010

TWO Aberdeen men have been fined a total of £2,700 for attacking Aberdeen Football Club skipper Mark Kerr.

The assault happened in Aberdeen’s Belmont Street outside The Priory just three days before Aberdeen FC’s most important game of the season.

His two attackers John Robb and Robert Hay both admitted the assault on May 20 last year.

But today Kerr’s behaviour during the whole incident was branded as “purely appallingâ€.
