Has Ayrshire run out of coal?  ::)

I blame Thatcher.

Cow, I hope she dies soon.

She's good at dealing with winters of discontent, apparently. Maybe we could burn her to thaw the pitch.

Pitch inspection at AFC's request.

Been dry all day down here, temp circa 5/6 degrees, not forecast for heavy rain or frost tonight.

Just a precaution lads....its game on

Thats a pity as we could have done with Aluko being fit for this game.

Its quite difficult to see where the creativity is going to come from! Though I think MacDonald will rise to the challenge if JC decides to use him

Come on you Reds!  :AFC2::AFC:

Yeah but fernandez is suspended for the game tomorrow and would be available for a re arranged game

Fernandez always plays amazing against us and then does nothing the rest of the season, even when he was with livi he was a thorn in our side.

don't see why it should be in doubt. Is it not an SPL requirement that they have undersoil heating? The only reason the match could get cancelled would be a frozen pitch, therefore they have failed the SPL rules so we should get the 3pts

btw bbc weather says that at KO the temp will be 0C!!!

Yes it is a requirement (but I don't think you have to use it). However, Killie do not use it as they didn't consult the residents before installing the system they use and apparently the noise pollution levels are quite high and they get complaints from the local residents when it's used...Clever that really...  :hammer:

from P&B

There is undersoil heating, its current on at the max allowed, and I believe the covers are down too.

Problem is caused because the pitch is heavily sand-based. When it rains and the temp drops quickly the pitch is liable to freezing solid due to the amount of water in the sand. There are also not enough pipes under the pitch to get air out to all areas.

They were seemingly unable to put the covers down earlier in the week due to the heavy snow being forecast. Two reasons: the covers inflate with air from under the pitch (and over external pumps they put in) and it would be almost impossible to get the covers off if the anticipated level of snowfall was realised.

Since the snowfall never materialised the covers are now down - they'll probably work through the night on it.

On a side note it will be interesting what happens with the pitch at Fir Park now that the bad weather is back.  Should get penalised if they start pulling the same shit as last year

I got it from MAD so probably why it was wrong ;)

I'm starting to smell major shite here.

There has been no rain for past couple of days.

There has been no snow to speak of down here this week.

There has been no serious frost for the past couple of nights, and doesn't look like there is going to be tonight.

Combe has been out, and by no means certain to return tomorrow.

Killie struggling for a strike force tomorrow

Summary = These bastards are at it, and looking for game to be put off

A perfect synopsis.

Weather update, I'm ten miles away from Killie and on the coast. There has been frost here although not exactly a severe frost. Must have come down in the early hours as no sign of frost about 11pm last night.

Accept it could potentially be different in land from the coast, but still can't imagine it could be bad enough to call a game off, if they turn their fucking heating on.

Newsflash - It emerged early this morning that Strathclyde Police are pursuing 2 burglars who broke into Rubgay Park, Kilmarnock, in the early hours of Saturday morning, taking vital components of the undersoil heating system. Strathclyde Police have issued descriptions of the pair 1. A wee balding ginger 2. A fat fucker who was heard to incessantly say "And eeeeeh".

Some guy posting on Killie Kickback claiming game is defo off....listening to local radio, and nothing official there yet.

Thats a total disgrace. A wee frost comes down in the early hours of the morning and an SPL club with undersoil heating can't fulfill a fixture. They should be fined for that shit and made to pay expenses for Aberdeens costs incurred preparing for the game.

Ajja, see my earlier post.....Killie didn't want this game played in my opinion >:(

It'll be interesting to see how many junior games are played in Ayrshire today ???

Apparently they can't use their undersoil heating at night due to the noise.  Surely the fail this SPL rule then:

H6.6

Each Club shall provide, maintain and use in such manner as to ensure its efficient and effective operation an adequate winter pitch protection system.

All such systems must be of an underground or under pitch heated type.

Such systems shall be fully utilised by the Home Club before any League Match where there is a reasonable possibility of its pitch otherwise being frozen or covered in snow or ice so as to ensure that the League Match is able to take place at the venue and on the date and time scheduled notwithstanding such possibility.
