kelt
As a trialist? jesus surely we're a better option that offering yourself for trials with mediocre english teams? Nope. Was either Miller or Calderwood who came out and said that the only English teams that we might be able to compete with in terms of wages are the Conference teams. And that's only maybe. So there you have it.

Thought he was a cunt when he played for the diet huns, thought he was alright when he played with us, kind of indifferent as to his next move. signs for us - cool. doesn't - won't be losing any sleep over it. Hope he enjoys playing with Jamie McAllister...

You have not seen how bad Foster and Duff have been at right back have you. Maybury was a decent enough player and way better than what we currently have but not worth braking the bank for. Sure there are plenty of similar standard players out there that will come to us for less money.

manc_don
I don't think I expected him to sign so i'm not bothered by this news. Would have been nice to have had the RB position sorted though.

bucky_loon
As a trialist? jesus surely we're a better option that offering yourself for trials with mediocre english teams? Was about to query whether or not Bristol City are mediocre (4th in Championship, beaten playoff finalists) when I remembered that Jamie Mac is their other full back. Says it all, really. Am resigned to seeing Foster in the RB position next season. Given that the search for a new centre half hasn't given us anything more promising than Jean-Francois Lecsinel (yet...) then I don't hold out much hope. True, Foster playing means we're sometimes worse than a man down.
Sharpie
Did Calderwood not see the numerous crossfield passes along his own box last season? That should have been drummed out of him in youth football. Yes he has pace but...well...not much else. One good game in 8 does not make a good player. baggy89
Seems an odd move by Brizzle unless Orr is off to the Prem. If Orr is staying there is NO way Maybury is getting a game.

Yes he has pace but...well...not much else. One good game in 8 does not make a good player. Used to play for a side where our right back, a ginger guy (fantastic tackler, battler, runner) would repeatedly cross the ball from the right... into our own fucking box. Forget his name, but that was his only real flaw... his deft inswinging crosses at our own end. Really had to be seen to be believed, like. And despite our repeated screaming at him to knock it off, the very next time he was under pressure on the right touchline he would turn away from his man and sweep a tremendous cross right into our six yard box. Sweetchuck
according the someone on mad Maybury didn't impress down in Bristol and may be coming back to the NE Frankly, I'd tell him to get fucked. Seriously, how would you feel if you asked your bird to marry you, only to be told that she was waiting for a better offer to come along, but if nothing better shows up, she just might be generous enough to say yes? The only reason he should be coming up here again is to apologise to the fans for being an avaristic, money-grabbing whore, before flying back down to whatever shithole it is that he owns property in south of the border.
