swaddon Posted Saturday at 18:49 Report Posted Saturday at 18:49 Another Saturday 3 pm kick-off beckons for the Dons as they travel to deepest, darkest Ayrshire to take on struggling Kilmarnock on the 31st January. Kilmarnock have Neil McCann at the wheel (at the time of writing) and have only won twice in the league all season. We have beaten them twice already, although we were lucky in both games. Maybe it's unfounded optimism on my part after today, but I fancy us to cuff them 3-0. Quote
Panda Posted yesterday at 00:19 Report Posted yesterday at 00:19 You know you're not getting to bed early enough when you read "deepest, darkest" as "Budapest" and think we're in for a cracking away day Kilmarnock are proper shite, but then we were very fortunate to take all three points there last time. There's a chance a new manager could be announced, but Leven still in charge for this one, unless it's made early in the week. Whoever is in charge, tough run of games after this: Celtic (h), Motherwell (h), Dundee United (a), Motherwell (a). So kinda important we take something up the road. Quote
Reekie_Red Posted yesterday at 08:13 Report Posted yesterday at 08:13 Worst Killie team in a very very long time. Kinda proof of what a decent manager can do for a team. I actually fancy us to take this one by a fair margin. 2, maybe 3-0. We should have Bratveit fully registered for this, and I would expect him to be between the sticks. Would also fancy us to play Clarkson more now that Fancy Pants has been recalled Leven will do just fine til we find a full time manager. But he should NOT be the full time manager. This club needs to fork out for experience Quote

As you say, we need to fork out for a legit manager, but that center mid spot to play alongside Cameron and shinnie is massive (and the new signing is really shinnie’s replacement), not just player but captain too perhaps. As I said in the other thread, really needs to be a 25-28/30 yr old leader in there, but replacing club legend shinnie will be very hard. agree, think we win this. Killie are crumbling and yesterday was a huge boost for us. Don’t see mitov being dropped just yet though. Maybe 3-1…? Quote

I think the Raith game showed that Clarkson and Cameron on the same pitch isn't going to work (unless chasing the game). Cameron regularly drops deep into the area that Clarkson wants to play in, and he doesn't really press from the front. It pretty much nullifies Clarkson's game. It has to be one or the other. I'd have had Aouchiche alongside Shinnie, but Armstrong was good there and Shinnie did the required running. Clarkson to come off the bench when Cameron tires, if he doesn't leave by the end of the window. Quote
Ajja Posted 16 hours ago Report Posted 16 hours ago February has a lot of tasty fixtures across the top end of the table. Suspect a few teams will be shedding points. Our own run is pretty tough with no clubs below us in our next batch of games after this one. At the moment, Hibs are looking like the only team who could slide out of that top 6 but they’d have to have a stinker in Feb and we’d need to pull out some surprises. Not even sure I’m that bothered about getting top 6 when it all shakes out. We should be putting everything we’ve got into cup games from here on in as far as I’m concerned but Killie game is a must win if we are entertaining even a sniff at top 6. Quote
TheDonbytheDee Posted 16 hours ago Report Posted 16 hours ago Of course we need the three points on Saturday, that's a given. What a win would also bring, is the possibility of helping McCann and Dodds out of a job too. Maybe not on Saturday, but they're not exactly getting a new manager bounce. To use a phrase I heard McCann use on Sportscene, when talking about the zombie clubs players. Their players can't cope with the weight of the jersey. Quote
Mason89 Posted 16 hours ago Report Posted 16 hours ago I worked with a few guys who went through the Rangers youth system. They all said that Billy Dodds was the biggest wanker they encountered in the game Quote

I could just never take to him, even when he was scoring a few for us. 1-4 on Saturday. Devlin, Nisbet, Nisbet, Dodds. Some radge I don't care about for them. 2 Quote
Blow.Up.Sheep Posted 15 hours ago Report Posted 15 hours ago We just need to keep winning and hope the teams above drop points. But obviously we have no control over the teams above so we jusyt need to carry on taking care of our own business. Can't see us keeping a clean sheet but can see us winning this, going for 1-3 to the good guys with Kevin Nisbet being the first dandy for god knows how many year to grab a hattrick. COYR let's do this 1 Quote

I always said that if Billy Dodds had scored even half the goals he was gifted wrapped, we would never have been in any danger of going down Quote
Panda Posted 10 hours ago Report Posted 10 hours ago You just know we're going to get a penalty, and for the first time in his life Kelle Roos will save one. 2 1 Quote

GASC1980 Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago Just remembered it was nisbet who Roos saved the penalty from in that Hibs game!!! Quote
tlg1903 Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Roos was actually alright in his first season to my memory, massively went off a cliff the second. That pinstripe top really was minging. Quote
