Jormungandr Posted Saturday at 17:03 Report Posted Saturday at 17:03 Only moment of enjoyment was when Nilsen turned into prime-Zidane for a couple o seconds. Otherwise, utter p1sh fae start to finish. No redeeming features. 1 Quote

We dont want to sack a manager every year so gave jimmy time. That’s fair. But Jimmy’s time is up and no shame in admitting that, he was backed and funded. Maybe the Lutz position came too late for him, but there’s little to suggest jimmy turns this around. We’re a mess defensively and in attack. not looking forward to the Huns double header. We're not a well organised football club, we're a well organised commercial entity. The summer transfer window was staggeringly incompetent and showed the ineptitude of the footballing department. 2 Quote
Kowalski Posted Saturday at 17:06 Report Posted Saturday at 17:06 If Jimmy is waiting for a pay off rather than quitting then we can add “mercenary” to his list of traits. Quote

Off the park we are a well run club. Commercially / fan engagement / training facilities etc we’re light years better than when Milne was in charge. None of that matters a jot when the football side doesn’t deliver though, and it’s been every bit as bad under Cormack as it was under that gype joiner… 2 Quote

The fan engagement will soon wear off if they get subjected to today's type of performance week after week. I admit we aren't the worst run football club but we are the worst run football team considering the money spent on it. Quote

That’s fair. i think we’ve got cormack who is trying to take us into modern football, Milne Donald etc we were a small family club. Commercially, finally getting in lutz which’s prob too late for jimmy. Other than glass, don’t think cormack has majorly fucked up with managers, it just hasnt worked out. I also don’t see endless people wanting cormack’s job and bringing funds to the club. people forget, Mcinnes came in with the foundation of the team and squad already there. Each of these managers has had to rebuild and the recruitment has been poor. Hiring lutz may improve that area. beating a dead horse, but other than the Motherwell guy, who else is out there? Every manager is risk, at least we have seen what the Motherwell guy can do in our league. Quote

The council have led us a merry dance on the new ground too. Training facilities are good, not their fault they are not being used to any great effect. They only exist because of Cormack. He deserves a slagging for the naming thing though. He’s backed his manager 100% financially. Given him everything and more he could expect. I can’t criticise him for that. The football side is an ongoing shambles though and he has to take the blame for that too. Its nowhere near good enough… Edited Saturday at 17:29 by The.Moog 4 Quote

Honestly, apart from a bigger wage packet, what are we offering him? By the time he sorts Aberdeen out, the Old Firm will have belted themselves out too. His chance to do something amazing is now. 1 Quote

Said it before, and it’s certainly speculation, but Motherwell will finish 4th at best and won’t win the cup. I don’t see him doing anything amazing at Motherwell, and he may even lose a player or two in January. We’re a bigger job, bigger funds, greater chance of success. Better job long term. Quote

But, you won't find that out until summer. He's not moving to us in January. IF Thelin leaves, would we wait until summer for Askou, with the chance there'll be offers from elsewhere? More chance of getting your dream of Allan Campbell signing. Quote
TheDonbytheDee Posted Saturday at 17:49 Report Posted Saturday at 17:49 I suspect results in our next two games will force the issue of our manager We take a doing at Ibrox, it could get very, very.messy for us. Quote

Lutz, or alternative, should have been in the door before McInnes left the building. That's certainly when I and many others were suggesting at the time, so it's not in hindsight either. It was completely in line with how Cormack said he wanted to run the football club. Everything in his strategy depended on having an experienced football person behind the scenes ensuring that the whole lot came together. Employing either of the inexperienced Glass, Goodwin, Robson or Thelin without the guy to oversee is a major, major fuck up. As the evidence has shown. It's exactly why each manager has had to rebuild and exactly the thing that Cormack vowed we were going to avoid when he first arrived (succession planning, transitioning between managers was a big thing). Slim Posted Saturday at 18:43 Report Posted Saturday at 18:43 I’m not sure outsourcing a “strategic review” to a consulting company and then hiring someone affiliated/linked to the consulting company to lead the “transformational changes” is a particularly smart move either. Never works in business, can’t see it working in football. Can absolutely see Cormack being seduced by a well-recycled slide deck giving it “yes a helicopter view deep dive that’s exactly what we need” while everyone else is smiling through gritted teeth. 4 Quote

blinlemon Posted Saturday at 19:17 Report Posted Saturday at 19:17 (edited) Thelin’s post-match interview on Red TV suggests he’s had enough. His resigned demeanour and ‘fuck this for a game of soldiers’ tone are not a good look. He mentioned - quite pointedly - the lack of player desire and responsibility, which was echoed by Shinnie in his summing-up, suggesting that there are known prima donnas in the squad who lack the commitment to get stuck in. The coming week is very probably going to be painful. Edited Saturday at 19:18 by blinlemon 3 Quote

He’s assembled a squad with zero fight, physicality, aggression and leadership. Every issue we have on the football side has him front and centre as a reason for it. Lets hope he offers to resign again and this time the club does the right thing… Edited Saturday at 20:12 by The.Moog 2 Quote
Jute Posted Saturday at 20:30 Report Posted Saturday at 20:30 That was awful beaten by a piss poor Falkirk team. We were lacking all over the field. So many players miles off it. Some playing poorly but others because they are nowhere near the required standard. Switching to 4 at the back didn’t produce the results we were all hoping. Thelin chucking some of players under bus does make me think it’s a question of time before he walks or is fired. One thing I would say is the recruitment team should be sharing the blame for this with Thelin. They have brought in a number of players over the summer who are clearly not good enough and if/when Thelin goes they should go with him. 1 Quote

This boy Almeda has frankly been an unmitigated disaster. I don’t think we’ve made even one half decent signing on his watch. He should go now along with Thelin… 1 Quote
