wee toon red Posted December 6, 2025 Report Posted December 6, 2025 A player or two in January and a less burdensome fixture list and I reckon top 4 isn't beyond us yet. Quote
TheDonbytheDee Posted December 6, 2025 Report Posted December 6, 2025 I think we are getting to a better place now. We just seem a more organised group, playing to the managers instructions. Not saying we are perfect, but we just seem a bit more cohesive and heading in the right direction as a team. I'm really glad we stuck with Thelin, when a lot of us were thinking he was a goner and with good reason to be fair. We've all had our doubts about Jimmy, but I've always felt he speaks so well and you could see he was frustrated as the rest of us after most of the early season shyte we were served up. Is it the reason some player's aren't getting a look in. Long may it continue. Saturday nights are much better when Aberdeen have played and won. Away out to see The Skids soon, so enjoy your evening fellow dandies. Quote
OxfordDon Posted December 6, 2025 Report Posted December 6, 2025 Wonder how much credit is due to the arrival of the Penguin, the upturn in team attitude seems to have coincided with him coming in. 1 Quote

Had wondered about this midweek. Definitely seems to have had some sort of steadying influence, even if it is just psychologically. Hopefully has freed up some time and burden for JT. anyway, only caught the last 20 mins, and we were being pumped with the game being played at a million m/hr. That Nisbet goal was special, outside of the boot by the looks of it? He’s got some confidence now so hopefully he goes on a bit of a run last last season now. Think someone else mentioned it, at the time I couldn’t believe Adil going for the corner flag before the 90, but having read the comments back, that now all makes sense. anyway, 3 important points and we enter the top six for the first time since the start of this season. Happy weekend Dandies! Quote

OrlandoDon Posted December 6, 2025 Report Posted December 6, 2025 Just finished watching, good win and with killie ar home next weekend, good opportunity to keep the positive momentum. its all our midfield. Aouchiche Armstrong and polvara played well first half and it’s a solid performance, then second half it’s more passive, too deep, and not enough desire passion or fight in midfield to get the team up the park. Some fannying around too in the box too, should gave been more than 2 up before they score. think that’s our strongest 3 in midfield, but certain hope we add a cm or two in Jan. Quote

Elgindon Posted December 6, 2025 Report Posted December 6, 2025 (edited) Only lstened on the radio while driving but according to Willie we were excellent in the first half, and Dee were 'magnificent' 'on fire' in the second. He also said we came out in the second half far more passive than in the first, maybe that gave Dundee encouragement to have a go? Should have been 3 up at half time, but there was plenty time /energy for us to look for a third in the second to finish them off.Still,we seem to be playing with a bit more risk, scoring more, conceding too...a more enjoyable watch, and mostly winning on the way.Happier days Edited December 6, 2025 by Elgindon Quote

dons8321 Posted December 6, 2025 Report Posted December 6, 2025 From the away end Nisbet's goal looked class, looking forward to seeing it on TV. Thought Logan looked really good again for about an hour (some crunching tackle for his booking) but then began to get run ragged. Shame Armstrong's free kick hit the post otherwise the 2nd half would have been a bit more comfortable. As someone posted what the fuck was Adil thinking trying to run down the clock with over 10mins to go? Quote

Ajja Posted December 6, 2025 Report Posted December 6, 2025 Great day out today. Atmosphere was good and for the most part the game was too. Thought we sat off them after the second as we had battered them for first 30mins. They offered very little and then a goal out of nowhere has us shitting the bed for 20mins. Thought the introduction of Topi gave them enough fear they sat off again and we got a grip of the latter stages. Great to see both Aouchiche and Nisbet getting goals, hopefully that lifts confidence. You could see how much Aouchiche enjoyed it, looks a confidence player. Brilliant to see Lazetic at the final whistle, he fucking loves the aggro. Quote
TheDonbytheDee Posted December 6, 2025 Report Posted December 6, 2025 Has anyone watched tonights Sportscene? Was theres there any reason given as to why a photo of Norm from Cheers (the American TV show, nae the gay bar in Aberdeen), underneath their table holding the league trophy? Very random. Quote

That is actually a very good point. Maybe Jimmy has someone in his corner now, taking the pressure off and allowing him to get on with winning games. Quote
Panda Posted December 7, 2025 Report Posted December 7, 2025 Was at the game, some atmosphere in our end. Fair play to all the young lads that have got the ultras going - great variety of chants now. Even Jesper Karlsson has now taken the Peter Pawlett one. I don't think - from his time in opposition and playing for Scotland - I really appreciated just how good a player Stuart Armstrong was. Not always flashy, but when you're under the cosh give it to him and he'll go on a run with it and holds onto it so well. So unlucky not to score from that free-kick too. Quote
Don Julio Posted December 8, 2025 Report Posted December 8, 2025 Totally agree re Armstrong. The frequency with which he gets the ball in tight spaces and not only retains it, but finds a way to play a progressive pass is something to see. Not to say that he’s been perfect in every match, but he’s a Rolls Royce of a player. 3 Quote
