The change in recruitment team over the summer probably didn’t help. It would be interesting to know how that all works. Are our signings the previous guy’s targets or targets the new guy has brought from West Ham? Or is it more of a team effort with a bunch of scouts chipping in with suggestions for whoever is in the hot seat to investigate? Might explain why there seemed to be a couple of weeks gap between the initial batch of signings and McGrath/McGarry/Gueye/Etc.

No reason we can’t finish 3rd, PAOK are beatable at Pittodrie (but then so are we). Frankfurt will be the big trip for most people I’d imagine, although there are loads of other cities in Germany preferable to Frankfurt. PAOK play in a part of Greece I’d love to visit but concerned it may be a bit “stabby” as an away fan? Helsinki could be a shout depending on the timing, I assume it’s fucking freezing late-November/early-December?

Aberdeen is a city where an unusually high proportion of its male workers work in the middle of the sea for half of the year. It’s not beyond the realms of possibility that many of them are season ticket holding Aberdeen supporters. And even then, why take the viewpoint that these people are doing anything wrong, that they’re somehow “blocking” the seat from being used? Most likely they’re thinking they’d rather contribute the cost of the season ticket to the club despite not being able to get the full value from it. This discussion has not moved on from its original premise - someone getting themselves worked up over an imagined scenario that we’ll draw a big team in Europe and demand will be high enough for him to struggle to get a ticket and he thinks that’s reason enough to lash out at anyone and everyone.

Yeah you still don’t get it. The issue isn’t your loyalty. The issue is you judging the loyalties of other people you know nothing about. No-one deserves to be shamed for their support just because it may potentially interfere with your ad-hoc attendance.

As dire as your circumstances are, it doesn’t give you any right to judge other supporters without knowing anything about their own circumstances. You’ll probably find that the increased initiatives to make season tickets more affordable and accessible (e.g. zero interest instalments) has made more of a difference than “fake” fans shelling out hundreds of pounds to get priority to buy tickets to midweek European matches that rarely sell out anyway.
