Argentina v Chile was decent but Brazil game was a procession which was understandable given the number of players Venezuela had out. Not manage either of the late games as they start 1am U.K. time. The late games finished 1-0 to Colombia over Ecuador and 3-1 Paraguay over 10 man Bolivia.

Dykes starting was always a strange one for me. Both Nisbet and Adams had scored in the friendlies games before the tournament while Dykes had missed a number of chances. Why start with the striker who is not in from. Could understand if Dykes had started with Adams or Nisbet as a front two but on his own meant he was always going to struggle to make an impact.

Proper South American game with some agricultural tackling from both teams. Finished 1-1 with Chile equalising from the rebound after Argentine keeper saved Vidal’s penalty.

1-0 Argentina with another great Messi free kick. That’s him now Argentina’s top all time scorer in competitive games.

Spain should have won by 3 or 4 tonight but some how managed to miss a bucket load of chances to draw 0-0 with Sweden.

Highlights if anyone is feeling masochistic enough.

Defies logic that Spain are not ahead in this. Battered Sweden for 45 minutes and no idea how they have not scored.

Slovakia go on to win 2-1 after Poland go down to 10.

Slovakia 1-0 up on Poland at half time. Slovakia were one of the teams I thought might struggle in this tournament but doing okay so far.

Oh well tournament over. Cannot see us getting a point from next 2.

Hibs have a tie up with Brighton so got to wonder why they haven’t taken this guy if he is so highly rated. If there is no option to buy then I would much rather we give game time to one of the young midfielders we have at the club to develop them rather than developing a player for someone else.

Copa America on BBC iPlayer just now. Brazil currently beating a COVID ravaged Venezuela 1-0. Despite nearly every eligible player in Venezuela being down with COVID Hernandez is still gathering splinters in his arse.
