I don't know what you were all expecting with La La Land?! It was a lovely feel good romantic film - the singing and dancing were fab and Ryan Gosling is always easy to watch I think all the ones I've seen that are in the running for best film at the Oscars have been superb so I would be surprised if La La Land gets it over Arrival and Manchester by the Sea in particular Casey Affleck's perfomance was heart breaking, such raw emotion - after that scene when you suddenly understand why he is broken you just feel his absolute torture I'm going to see Hacksaw Ridge this afternoon after a bit of the rugby - I do like Andrew Garfield
  2. I agree with BB in that I would rather play Celtic at home in the next round than face them in the semis or final I would prefer them to play at Tynecastle or ER next and for us to have a wee trip to Dunfermline or a home tie Best pie I have ever had at footie was at Morecambe last season

Manchester by the Sea is very worth a watch T2 was good tho for me not a patch on the first film - didn't have that wow wtf impact
  5. It's a pity we can't just watch it from your flat. £22 is a bit of a rip for a friendly is it not?! I might go if there are any dons players in the squad
  6. The title seems to make you guys a little bit uneasy
  7. Yeh the guys at work are quite amused that I've been reading it on the bus I'll let you know if it grows on me.........ha
  8. I'm reading I Love Dick at the moment - described as "the most important book written about men & women in the last century" - I'm finding it dull and skimming a bit already, possibly cause I have another 5 books waiting to be read!!

The Dominion is fab I saw A Monster Calls tonight, very good
  11. Seriously WTF worst post ever and that's rich considering some of the utter pish you have come out with
  12. So disappointing that we know but McInnes doesn't appear to have a fucking clue!!!
  13. Maybe we need a team full of beards
  14. I wasn't at either of these games but I do wonder if McLean playing better and scoring 3 goals coincided with Shinnie being at left back??!!
  15. The globes had a great time in pub before the game - fab to catch up with everyone Our flag display was awesome - loved it - pity the players couldn't match the effort from the fans Team selection was awful - I blame McInnes for tinkering with the defence when there was no fucking need It was always gonna be a hard game to win but to play so pitifully was particularly disappointing
  16. Definitely
  17. I really cannot be arsed with european football I love not thinking about the dons over the summer and I really don't ever care what team we get drawn against I'm never ever gonna go a boy's trip abroad to follow the dons ever again so I just cannot muster up any excitement whatsoever
  18. I can't imagine that we won't start with our strongest possible team and that must include McGinn He is an integral part of our line up and an established internationalist for a team that actually participated in the Euros I cannot be arsed with the endless remarks about how he doesn't try against Celtic and the derogatory comments about his religion are so fucking boring If I was Niall and I scored on Sunday I would be tempted to give you lot the finger

It's about the way the government has reacted to save millions of pounds by targeting the poorest and most vulnerable people in our society so yes it is a reflection on austerity "Director Ken Loach, now 80, came out of self-imposed retirement to make this powerful and urgent social drama that serves as a scathing indictment of austerity Britain" Read more at: https://inews.co.uk/essentials/culture/film/i-daniel-blake-review-austerity-britain It is certainly worth a watch both for the terrific warmth and humanity that shines through from Daniel and to witness what a fucked up society we live in when a woman has to go without sanitary products cause she cannot afford to buy them and feed her kids

I, Daniel Blake is a very powerful, evocative statement on austerity My daughter sat with tears streaming down her face at the end A sad reflection on today's society
  21. I don't really get the lack of interest - last season we got knocked out both cups first game - I would have thought fans would be well up for being there when the dons have a tremendous chance to win at Hampden and bag another final Fair enough I'm travelling from just outside Edinburgh but I doubt we would have only sold 10,000 tickets if we had been playing the Rangers at the exact same kick off time

Saw The Girl on the Train last night - pretty much what I was expecting tho Emily Blunt was excellent Dunno how the book got so much hype
  24. I'm not an Ash fan at all so O'Connor & Reynolds for me Tho after reading the other thread I want Consi in there too but would prefer Shinnie at left back so dilemma
  25. i was 1981, the year after I started supporting dons. Pittodrie and Utd beat us 2-1. In the main stand and I got my first close up of Neale Cooper so I was hooked The nicest thing my dad ever did for me, taking the train to Aberdeen when his own team Hibs were 20 mins away on the bus.......
