  1. We need to clone Shinnie before the final. One to play left back and one to play holding mf. We looked better with Stockley. Would cause problems with Rooney on too, maybe. Taylor needs to go now. I thought Reynolds was all over the place trying to cover Taylor's mistakes. O'Connor did well in midfield. Hayes great again. Delighted for the wee lad who got on, someone could have passed to him though so he at least got a touch ?.
  2. I coach a mixed team at U12 have done since U7. Had a carry on with a group of parents at the end of U8's season as "we didn't win enough", due to my coaching (I didn't pick the best 5 players every week.) Was orchestrated by one of the other coaches who has since been banned from coaching youth football by the FA. Anyway 14 left leaving us with 5 for a seven a side season we got a couple more in fulfilled our games and are now back up to 15 as we move to 11 a side next season. Funny thing is we beat the team that was formed from our leavers twice this season. Now the lads that play are secondary age we're getting their mates coming along who play for much better teams and are thinking of joining us as" we have a laugh and our training is fun". . I also started coaching what is now U10 girls last season. We have loads join all the time they are much easier than the lads to coach as they listen and don't think they know better than you. The set up for girls youth in this area is miles ahead of mixed, and is fully non competitive. No "non competitive" league just six festivals a year. Properly no presssure environment to develop skills. Most of the girls parents are just happy to see them enjoying something. The mixed group are OK now as the ones that stayed bought into what I was trying to achieve and have been proved as justified as I have. The only things I really have to deal with are over protective mums worrying that their little angel is getting bullied, but I think that is just the age. Testosterone is kicking in and they are testing each other.
  3. Would be a major gamble and thus significant change in attitude. McInnes likes players he knows. Unless these foreigners are in addition to tried and tested players. I'd have Boyce in an instant, by all accounts his barren streak (and county's poor form) came when being played out wide, moves back central and he starts scoring again.
  4. To be fair it was probably Chelsea fans forced to invade the pitch to protect the Hun players from getting a hiding off Celtic.
  5. Without doubt absolutely bang on. Was watching the game with my BiL who grew up supporting the Tims but now is a ST holder at Victoria Park so I think perfectly placed to offer a completely unbiased view. The above accurately reflects his comments at the time.
  6. Just posted in the Tim thread. No-one holds them to account so can make blatantly corrupt decisions like this with impunity. It's an absolute farce.
  7. Scott Brown's red changed to a yellow after appeal. If it wasn't such blatant cheating it would be funny. That is an appalling decision by SPFL.
  8. Taylor at fault for both goals. McInnes needs to get him off before he loses the game single handedly.
  9. Delighted for him. Should have had at least one international cap by now. I've never got folk not rating him.
  10. Fair enough, but he was favourite at one point.
  11. Taylor is that lad in your Sunday league team. A'bdy likes him, he's a laugh, his bird is fit, he seems soft as shite but he likes the gym and you're just nae sure if you pushed it too far, given his gymbunniness he might embarrass you. Every so often he'll see half an opening and charge through (with his primary school control) opposition fannies will back off "coz he's a big lad" then he'll have a dig and it'll go over the bar clearing the DD, or go out for a throw. Just remeber once every three* years he'll hit the target. That is not worth a new contract at AFC. *maybe
  12. See Alex Neil has been "resigned (tm The Sevco, 2017)" by Norwich. Bet The Sevco are sick. I reckon they saw Neil has a cheap option that might make them look ambitious to their zombie followers. Lovely that Norwich have seen through that and held onto him until it was certain they could not get compo for a failing manager, before punting him.
  13. Foderingham should have been off but he's got away with it despite the Lino being in-line. I assume the Accies player had tasered the Sevco lad as he'd let go by the time he started convulsing like an epileptic. Some might say soft penalty I say corrupt. Guarantee if we win tomorrow it'll be the tims in the Semi for us.
  14. Jesus that is desperate. Not too difficult to see why those particular players were chosen for this work of revisionist fiction. Oxford, as he provides hope to their moronic support that they too could sign a "Dembele" type. Hayes, as it makes their moronic support believe that their 4.5 year old club are bigger than us with added (in their eyes) unsettling effect.
  15. Fucking hilarious! More than grounds for 3 cases of wrongful dismissal. It's almost as if they are deliberately pouring money down the drain.
  16. See they've decided to ban the sun today (10/02/2017) over said toilet papers coverage of the Hillsborough disaster (15/04/1989). Timely...

    Films

Thought La La Land was horrific. Dull Dull Land. I can only assume folk get drawn in by the bit at the end designed to make folk (wifies) cry. Even my wife who normally laps that kind of shite up commented that it was really boring and she only wanted to stay to the end as she'd invested time in it. Saw Manchester by the sea at the weekend, heart breaking stuff. Grief so totally overwhelming and superbly acted. There is no way Ryan Gosling should win the Oscar before Casey Affleck (that's not to say other performances I haven't seen are not better). Saw T2 on the Saturday it was out. Loved the original took me a while to get used to the pace of this one as its nowhere near the first, which still now seems like its been on ten minutes at the final scene. However I think it's reflective of the place the characters are in their lives and is deliberately more pedestrian . Once you understand that I think it's a terrific film in it's own right. Looking forward to seeing it again. As said, Spud and Begbie were highlights as was the surprise at seeing Mikey Forrester now a seemingly successful gangster.
  18. I suppose any money saved between now and the end of the season, whether that be transfer fees, signing on fee's or just wages goes into the pot for next season. That might be another couple of grand a week for McGinn, Jack, an extension on Hayes contract or replacements for any of those out of contract at the end of the season.
  19. So Cardiff value him at £3 million (that's what they will pay him over 3 years) but only want to pay a quarter of that to sign him... Hayes has a year and a half left here so he is, based on Cardiffs own valuation, worth £1.5 million. Whole lot up front by midday or fuck off. And unless we were interested in any of their players prior to their interest in Hayes they can keep their rejects. Why we would want a too shite for Cardiff reject on loan is beyond me and just further stinks of their arrogance throughout this carry on.
  20. lol. What a bunch of cunts. They've let a player go "by mutual consent" 29 years old plays similar position to Hayes that they allegedly paid £2 million for in the summer. If it's right that it was a 2 year deal and they paid £2 million, I'd say a rough guess would be the lad was on £15k - £20k a week, if we split the difference and call it £17500 pw that's about a £300k saving on his wages for the rest of the season or £1.2 million over the length of his contract. Cardiff have been told to get real twice, you would have imagined they've been given a figure from which we'd be willing to negotiate from. Someone form the club should start submitting stupid bids for their players. A toaster and Calderwood's tombola for Junior Hoilett.
  21. I remember reading or hearing an interview with Phil Brown (I know, I know) a few years ago. He was adamant that the players he had at Southend were not any worse technically or poorer physically in terms of fitness, strength and speed than the players he managed in the EPL with Hull or when he was assistant to Allardyce at Bolton. He maintained the only difference was that mental step up. The belief they had in themselves as players. I think it's something you see at all levels in all sports. I'ts the difference between good also ran's and winners.
  22. He's utter shite. I think Everton had 4 shots on target and scored all of them, third dinked over him, fourth one through his legs. The boy Otamendi's not a CB either.
  23. To be fair to him Cheltenham were in for him in the summer and Vince blocked the move. Yeovil have tried and been blocked by Vince and now an "unnamed" SPFL side has had two bids rejected. Doesn't look like FGR are going up this season either (automatically). If I had a bit of ambition I'd be getting pissed off that my chance of trying myself at a higher level were constantly being blocked. That club lose between £5-£10 million a season so it's not as if they need the money from the transfer.
  24. Heard today that Elliot Frear of Forest Green Rovers is the subject of two rejected bids from an unnamed SPFL side. He's apparently kicking off about it "doing a Payet". Who knows if it's us or not but there can't be many SPFL sides able to actually buy players. Plus he's a winger. Difficult to judge but he's easily FGR's best player and assume he would be playing at higherlevel if league clubs could match what Dale Vince is paying him.

    Celeb Deaths

George Michael probably the most apt celebrity death since Jon Denver left on a jet plane.
