  1. My first post here in a LOOOONG time (Hi peeps)! We cannot go for a novice like Fletcher or Brown. We need an experienced manager who knows how to deal with players who are stuck in a rut. Lambert and Coyle are battler-managers. They won't get us playing attractive football, but they may just stop the rot. Bakke is an interesting name thats popped up, as is Martindale I'm just pissed we took this long to take action. The caretaker only has 3 days to sort that defence out before the window closes, and it urgently needs fixed. Plonking McRorie and Hayes in defence is not the answer, they are needed and more effective further up the field
  2. vipbox.tv got recommended to me by a workmate a few weeks ago. Must admit, there aint much I've not been able to find on it sporting-wise
  3. Did I imagine this, or did Scotland beat England in the final game at the old Wembley Stadium? I'm sure I remember Billy Dodds scoring. But it appears to have been completely wiped from the record-books (okay, I can't find it on Google!)
  4. I would laugh at the hibs result, but it screams so loudly of Aberdeen vs Sigma Olomuc. I ain't throwing any stones in our glass house quite yet. We've got a lot of promise for this season ... but am nervous about getting too excited!
  5. n/oot: in Pre match: rum at hame Match: whichever format of match coverage i can find in middle earth Post match: kip Prediction: 2-0 Dons McGinn (is there really gonna be anyone else for us this season??!)
  6. He said: “I’m not retiring now. I still feel young and I’ve plenty to offer.” He needs to sign for Motherwell or St Johnstone first before we'll try and poach him.
  7. This pic got sent to me the day after Wales beat England. Still makes me laugh whenever I see it. Jonathan "numbers" Davies enjoying the moment to the fullest in the company of his guff colleagues:
  8. From what I've seen of Adams, I like him. He loves winds up huns like Butcher (tick one box), he's not afraid to haul a player off the park when they are playing shite (tick another box), he's a young and very hungry coach (tick another couple of boxes).
  9. Deserves a new contract, IMHO. He's nae the fastest ... infact, he's in the running for the slowest thing on two legs. But he's got guts, determination, skill and vision, and chips in with the odd goal now and then.
  10. Skysports have quoted Broon saying he's not looking at any more midfielders as he's got Milsom, Ozzie, Rae and Hughes back in contention, and Jack nearing full fitness too. It also has a quote saying he's definitely nae ruling out moving for a striker. Doesn't say if he'll move for said striker in this transfer window or the summer one. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11789/8427989
  11. Please no, not McGhee. I'll only be happy if he finally gets the Celtic job he craves

Aye, I watched The Hobbit the other night too. Took waaaaaaaay too long to get going. But once it did, it was quite enjoyable. Much more light-hearted than the quite ominous and depressingly dark LOTR trilogy. Not sure of the continuity issue that Kow speaks of. Fellowship of the Ring mentions Bilbo stumbling across the ring in Gollums cave. This is where he finds it in The Hobbit too, albeit a bit more drawn out than the Fellowship Of The Ring suggests. Although the drawn-out version was, for me, the highlight of The Hobbit movie ... I loved the riddles competition that Bilbo and Gollum contest. Wonderful. I really enjoy the cast as well. Sylvester McCoy is perfect as the loopy wizard Radagast The Brown. James Nesbitt adds his comedy gold as one of the hobbits. And Martin Freeman is simply miles ahead of Ian Holm in the part of Bilbo. Wonderful to see Christopher Lee reprising the role of Saruman too, even in his sadly frail state.
  14. Aye, utter fuckwits who have shit for brains, but know where the back of the net is!
  15. I hate the split. A season should gauge a club's performance over the space of an entire season. The split means those teams who peak late in the season may be stuck in the lower divisions despite having more points than teams in the upper divisions. I've always hated the SPL split. This double split will just be even more shite. The best leagues in world don't split. Why should we?
  16. Is it really Griffiths that's the problem? There seems to be a recurring behavioural problem at Fester Road over the past few years. If its not drug possession, its being kicked out of nightclubs, or nicking cars, or racist slurs. Been happening for years at that club
  17. Fallon's a bit of a luxury player to be honest. Has scored some absolutely incredible goals for us. But nowhere near often enough!!

  20. Best fans in the world, my fuckin arse! What I found even more hilarious is the fact that the huns are up in arms about the disgraceful behaviour of the Timothy in Dundee. Pot kettle and all that shite.
  21. Cannae believe what I read today. Apparently the original Zippy from Rainbow was gonna be a blue creature. But Geoffrey used to live in Dundee and had grown to become an Arab, so demanded Zippy's colour be changed to orange.
  22. Would love to make a cheeky loan offer for Leigh Griffiths. We really need a consistent scorer to rival McGinn.
  23. Actually quite glad Robinson has left. The current Scotland squad doesnt deserve a coach as experienced as Robinson. I thought the guys played admirably vs the All Blacks (except for that crazy 20 minute spell in the first half), and they managed to adapt to South Africa's smash'n'grab style very well. But the manner of the Tonga defeat was just despicable, those guys dont deserve to wear the Scotland jersey. There's surely got to be better options than the powder-puff Laidlaw. FIVE years since centre Sean Lamont has scored! Five years!!! That's ridiculous for a centre! Scottish Rugby needs a big clearout and restart from the beginning again. I saw attempts a few years to create a professional team in Aberdeen, with Sir Ian Wood being one of the major investors. There were even rumours going around that All Black Jerome Kaino was being lined up as the Aberdeen franchise's first major signing. Dunno what happened to this, but it's pretty obvious that Scotland needs more than two professional clubs.
  24. True that ^ Let's face it, as enticing as a 16 team league sounds in theory, who are the other four teams who are worth bothering travelling to? Outside of Dunfermline, which teams would you really give a fuck about travelling to? Raith, Livi, Hamilton and perhaps Plastic Whistle at a push. What happens the following season when potentially three teams go down and another three new ones come up? Who are we gonna be facing then? Pretty sure SkySports ain't gonna give a fuck about Raith vs Cowdenbeath infront of 183 fans.
