  1. There's news around that SF 49ers' investment wing is expected to close out a takeover of The Rangers 2012 FC, including all debts owed to John Bennett, by June this year. The deal is expected to be similar to that which saw them takeover Leeds Utd two years ago
  2. What happened? I read that article, but it's not plainly clear what it was that the family were aggrieved about. Was the funeral too focussed on Jimmy's footballing life?
  3. I watched the highlights of the Killie StJ game. They look handy, the lad Wales especially - he peppered shots at goal at every opportunity. And the lad Murray scored an absolute screamer of a free kick that was second only to Keskinen's belter. But they were up against the worst StJ team I've seen in years. I'm cautiously optimistic we can get a result here. Won't be easy, but I'm going for 3-2 win - Gueye, Nisbet, Jensen
  4. Shinnie for me has at most a season left in him. I don't think that warrants captaincy on its own. Anderson was different, as he was still playing to a high standard when he retired. Shinnie is still magic but only in glimpses. I'm of the view the captain needs to be in this order (a) dominant, (b) consistent, (c) experienced, (d) an outfield player, (e) scottish. I'm not too fussed about (e) so long as they have the other 4 traits in spades. I was checking whilst writing this, is Joe Lewis really our only season-long non-Scottish captain? Anthony Stewart was captain for the game and a half it took us to figure out he was rubbish, so I'm not counting him
  5. Cbeebies?
  6. Spurs podcast is questioning why Dorrington has only appeared 4 times and started once. The podcast is suggesting Dorrington is our best defender. https://tothelaneandback.com/2025/02/16/john-wenham-frustrated-with-alfie-dorrington-aberdeen-situation/ Sorry, but from what I've seen and read, Dorrington is just not good enough. Notably the defence weakened when he came on vs Dunfermline. What's the thoughts of you guys who get to see him live in games? Are Spurs fans right to question his lack of game time, or is he just not that good?
  7. Well it's either Scottish quality going down or Irish quality going up. Mind you, we've got a good track record from the Irish players who've played for us

Quite enjoyed Sunstance. After watching and thoroughly enjoying Last Voyage Of The Demeter, which is from one of the chapters of Dracula, me and the missus went to the cinema for first time in donkeys to see the remake of Nosferatu. I absolutely love the OG version, but this remake was gash! Lily-Rose Depp has all the on-screen emotions of a sack of tatties. Tonight, we are gonna watch the remake of All Quiet On The Western Front
  9. I think it's a telling sign of how shit Scottish football is when our first win in 15 games puts us into 3rd place
  10. "Thank fuck", Kevin Nisbet 2025. Nice to wake up to a win in the league. The highlights were rubbish, but I saw from Aaron Jones' coverage that Dabbagh had a chance saved. How'd he go in his first outing?
  11. Imagine if they lost to the league's newest team
  12. Despite ref Callum Scott awarding the penalty 2 minutes after extra time was up, and STILL allowing two more corners to be played - I'm surprised he didn't try and head the ball into the net himself. Gotta say the lad Ferrie was absolutely outstanding in goals for Queens Park. And oor Ryan Duncan put in a decent shift too
  13. Shit, feels like Fyvie left us when Darren Mackie was still scoring with his erse
  14. I'm just glad it's over and done with (admin-hour aside). My OCD can stop checking the transfer news the moment I wake up. And I no longer have updates every 5 minutes about what Mathys Tel is currently wearing. Overall, a good window for us. Strengthened Recruited in the right areas of the field, and have jettisoned some of the deadweight
  15. Don't you mean "the window has SLAMMED shut" ?
  16. Hopefully JT gives him priority on the field, and doesn't keep sharing the #9 time equally amongst him, Ambrose (who should be Duk's surprise +1 in that deal) and Nisbet (who just hasn't worked out for us)
  17. I can see the papers now. "He had such a promising career ..." "His career was hampered by persistent knee problems because of THAT tackle ..." "He was piggy-backed off the field by someone, but that doesn't matter ..." "It was three years til we saw him take the field again ..." "Eight months after the tackle, he was spotted bouncing on tables at a corporate event, singing sectarian songs ..."
  18. Benfica will be due a fair bit of that fee though. We're they getting 50% of sell-ons? Glad he's gone though. Can we throw in Ambrose as a bonus?
  19. Just watched highlights of Arsenal absolutely dismantling Man City. God knows what is happening at City, but that was an absolute pasting ... City didn't register a single shot on target after their 1 goal
  20. Would be a tidy €4.5M for us if they met Bologna's valuation
  21. Thats a cruel comparison. Opposition players have to put thought into getting past a traffic cone
  22. This is my concern too. I hate the transfer windows, cos the first thing I do every single morning is go online to see if we've signed anyone yet. I fear we get no new #9 in, or worse we get some guy who is on his 19th loan club and has scored 3 goals throughout his entire time on loan. I dunno what I fear more, this situation or having to field Nisbet/Ambrose for the rest of the season and genuinely wondering if we will score again
  23. Proof will be in the pudding vs Dunfermline. After that interview, JT has to drop those who are in that "lacking commitment" category. He's not going to change his system as that's been the basis behind all of his signings so far.
  24. Just be done with that rule and bring back terracing. The source of the Hillsbrough disaster was police opening gates to ease fan congestion, which caused the crowd surge. Fenced-terracing happened to be in-place in those two stands, which didn't help. But you cannot beat a good terrace. Think the last one I went to was Montrose vs Dundee (Billy Dodds played for Dundee). Brilliant atmosphere
  25. Sky Sports News' Anthony Joseph suggests we are interested in Maccabi Tel-Aviv centre-back Tyrese Asante. It’s understood the Dons held talks to sign the 22-year-old last summer while he was at Den Haag, but nothing developed further. Asante was close to joining Galatasary, before they were gazumped by Maccabi. The Netherlands U21 international has two-and-a-half years left on his contract, with the club having an option to extend by a further year.
