  1. Yup. Known issue since we upgraded the entire site about 12 hours ago. We're working on it ...
  2. Agreed. Anderson was steady as a rock, Osborne was in the thick of pretty much everything. I felt Rae struggled with Celtic's pace a bit, but really showed his experience in some situations ... he conceded a free-kick on the edge of the area when Celtic were charging through to a three-on-one situation, giving us a chance to defend the freekick with our entire team than commit suicide with just one player. Vernon did nothing. McGinn was smothered by the Celtic defence, and I thought Hayes showed in glimpses what he is capable of. But no amount of tricky saves can make up for that calamity by Langfield. Must be Brown in goals next week!
  3. If every team in the SPL can raise their game against the tattie howkers, they've surely got to slip up somewhere. Can't play 38 Cup Finals, surely! Judging by their performances in pre-season, i don't think they're gonna be too difficult to beat compared to previous seasons. Now, can someone else keep the pace with them for the duration of the entire season?
  4. It's not that big a point really. The kiwis are just happy to get some gold medals. Not sure where the Aussies are gonna get their medals from, though. Usually they rely on the swimming pool to get most of their medals, but they've been shite in the swimming pool this year
  5. That's why I said one train-change! If you take two trains, you change trains once. If you take one train, you don't have to change! ;-)
  6. Sick to death of seeing England flags at the Olympics. Erm ... England aren't at the Olympics, ya bunch o' fuckwits
  7. I wanna know if any of the matches will be shown on the international SkySports channels. I'm sick of hunting out shitey flakey video streams of Dons matches on dodgy websites.
  8. "Shiels has even delivered season tickets to fans in Edinburgh." Wow. Killie have fans as far away as Edinburgh? Jeez, that's like a whole .... ummm ... one train-change away. Is it me, or have Killie been in the SPL for too long now? I say bin them and bring some worthy teams up.

If I can find the FTP login details, I'll send it to you. I might just update the site anyway, as the issue may resolve itself with the upgrade from v2.0RC2 to v2.0.1

There's an issue with one of the php files : You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'TYPE=InnoDB' at line 5 File: /var/www/vhosts/donstalk.co.uk/httpdocs/messageboard/Sources/ManageSearch.php Line: 564 This will need to be fixed before creating a search-index. If I get time (sorry nae had the time recently cos of work and kids) I will do a site upgrade and see if the latest release candidate of SMF has fixed this PHP error
  11. Ken fit pisses me right aff? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/scottish-premier ... why the fuck is this page giving news about a Third Division team?
  12. Good points stubo72. We dominated the midfield, but cleary lacked any sort of presence upfront. Fallon's goal could've been recorded as a fluke, had he not already scored two beauties against Motherwell in the QF. But we did nothing upfront. Hibs were quite happy to sit back and soak us up and wait for the opportunity to flick it out to O'Connor and Griffiths who, tbh, were by FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR the most dangerous players on the park today. Well done Aberdeen, you bottled it yet again. Maybe we should ask to play SF's at Tannadice/Tynecastle/etc. We seem to have more success there than at Hampden
  13. This is purely Brown accepting that Fyvie is heading out of Pittodrie and just trying to get as much money from his sale as possible. At the moment, only Norwich and Fulham are in the running for Fyvie's signature. If Brown can succeed in putting Fyvie on the radar of the likes of ManU then he may succeed in upping the value to the likes of Fulham who, by all accounts, can most definitely affort to pay more than the rumoured £500,000
  14. Well, there's no denying that he has made vast improvements to the team's structure since replacing McGhee. However, before McGhee came onboard, Calderwood left behind a pretty good team that clinched 4th place in the league. It's taken Brown a year and a half to get us where we are now. Did McGhee really have that much time at Aberdeen to create a year and a half's worth of backpeddling? Even someone as inept at McGhee surely cannot undo so much in 18 months. So why has it taken so long for Brown and Knox to turn things around? Is it too much dependence on the Aberdeen old boys club?
  15. If ever there was an clear example of the Old Firm existing in the SPL purely to service their own reasons and existence, this is it. What pisses me off is that the remaining ONE of the Old Firm seems to have a heavier weight in the argument than the other ten SPL clubs who clearly want changes to the rules. Any wonder why no cunt bothers to watch the SPL when it pops up on TV?
  16. Red TV is shite. I've subscribed to it for several non-consecutive months now and every time I subscribe the live content is amateur at best. Certainly not worth the "admission price" that the online viewers pay Remember, Aberdeen! Not everyone can get to Pittodrie. Make it as enjoyable as possible to sign up to RedTV as you can. I ended up watching a pirated sky sports stream of the cup semi today because RedTV's offering was just shite. If you get your formula right and actually put a bit of effort into the online commentary and visuals, you'll almost certainly get a decent and legitimate readership
  17. To be honest, this is the one match in Pa Broon's "Gimme Five" games that I am not fussed to lose. Sure I am a bit miffed that we've lost this game. But if it now means Motherwell are a step closer to overtaking the self-imploding Huns into 2nd place, then I'll accept this loss. First time I've ever smiled at a Dundee Utd win!!
  18. Andy Robinson has inherited absolute shite from Frank Hadden. Admittedly Robinson's done alright this season. The first three games of the 6 Nations were very promising. We were a Dan "Neep" Parks disaster away from beating the English. We played some fantastic stuff against the French (World Cup runners up less than six months ago!). And we only had ourselves to blame against a Welsh side who went on to win the Grand Slam. But its simple errors that cost us. Knock-ons should be almost non-existent at International level ... certainly for a team like Scotland who are one of the Tier 2 teams of World Rugby. There are some fantastic players in the Scotland team at the moment. Barclay, Brown, Jacobsen, Ford, Gray and Strokash and Vernon are the guts of a very very strong and very capable forward pack. And the likes of Ansbro, Blair, Evans, Laidlaw and the Lamont brothers in the backs are world-class! The bulk of the Scotland pack hits the try-line on a regular basis or the Glasgow and Edinburgh teams, and are more than capable of trouncing powerhouse teams like Leinster and Munster. But pull on a Scottish rugby jersey renders all of these players incapable of catching a ball, breaking the line, or creating an inside pass opportunity. You will never get into the Top Ten of world rugby if you are going to play rugby that the rest of the world teams learned at Under-15 level. Robinson is doing well. Give him another two seasons and I think we will be back up in the Top 8 and winning more than 50% of games. Binning Townsend was a good move for Scotland. He was only a flash-in-the-pan attacker in his playing days - having him coach our attack was only ever going to produce failure. Will be good to see what solidity Sean Lineen brings to the coaching of the team.
  19. Hi hate St Patricks Day. Sure, if you live in Ireland, are from Ireland, or are at least 50% Irish then this is your day. But why must the whole world celebrate the Patron Saint of Eire? My stance is I refuse to celebrate St Paddys day until everyone in Ireland celebrates St Andrews Day
  20. I stil remember the day I entered discussions with DandyDon about amalgamating StandFree.com with DandyDons.co.uk. First headline I remember seeing on the original DandyDons news website was "Peter Kjaer exclusive interview". It's been a very long road, but somehow DonsTalk has surfaced a decade old and stronger than ever! Hats off to the guys who took over the running of the site from me, Slim and DD. You guys have done an awesome job over the past three or four years. Do we get one of those stars above our logo for surviving a decade?
  21. Nah, min. Murrayfield is a morgue. Has been ever since they redeveloped it. It used to have a cracking atmosphere when the old North and South Stands (or Red Stand and Blue Stand as they were on the tickets) were there. Good ol' fashioned terracing at its best. Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with opposition fans. Get in!! Now it's full of friendly families with their twee tartan blankets, packet lunches, and pish whispering of the national anthem. Everysooften Murrayfield lights up like its former glory. Me and my auld man picked up on cheap ex-debenture tickets for the 2000 game vs England - the debenture holders couldnae be fucked going to watch Scotland get a pasting and handed the wooden spoon in pishy wet conditions. Unbelievable atmosphere at the game, as most of the toffs didnt turn up in the stands, leaving the rest of us to pretty much shout, swear and cheer for the entire match. Haven't heard Murrayfield like that since that day.
  22. "I have no interest, now or in the future, of becoming involved in the club." Good call. Let those bastards fester in their administration hell!
  23. Rangers FC manager Ally McCoist has been offered a role with Sky TV. However, concerns have been raised about his technical ability to install satellite dishes on Scotland's windy roofs  :haterangers:

    Ecstasy

Been trawling on a bit of a YouTube spiral this evening. Somehow I've been watching an ABC documentary on Ecstasy, the arguments for and the arguments against. I've taken the drug (albeit the last time was over 10 years ago now), and must admit that I've never had any bad experiences with it. The damning evidence against the drug in this documentary is based purely on individual, single-case experiences where some individuals had allergic reactions to the drug ... you know, kinda like how individuals have allergic reactions to nuts. What's your view on ecstasy? I don't know if a shit short-term memory is because fo ecstasy abuse or too many big hits whilst playing rugby in my teenage years. But I simply cannot see any evidence against the drug, other than the fact that some people (eg Leah Betts) drinking too much water and flooding their brains, that says anything against the drug. Should it remain a class-A drug alongside herion, cocaine, etc, or should the government's fears about ecstasy become relaxed?
