  1. Those are TOUGH teams. I cannae see a winner from any of those teams, regardless of who they are playing. We are the clear underdogs of this group, and if we can catch any of the other teams napping, we might just stand a chance.' But folk like Lee Miller and Darren Mackie are gonna have to be fully awake for these matches, cos we're nae gonna get much small change fae these teams. We need to take whatever chances fall to us.
  2. FUCK! Look at November's games!!! The manky arabs, then the ruskies, then the mini huns, then the tims, then thon spaniard folkies!! That's tough!!!!!!!

Yeah, you won't be able to submit scores whilst we are having domain name issues. Basically, whilst the domain name at the top of the screen says "www.zykanthos.me.uk", you'll have this problem. We're trying to prise our domain name from those Irish wankers that mucked us around a year ago. As soon as we've managed to take the DonsTalk name away from them, we'll be able to fix this and all the problems with the site at the moment ... such as problems with replying with quotes, etc.
  4. Agree with the comment fae Bobby ... except the bit about Lovell. Miller can gettae fuck. I never really liked him, right back in the days when we were looking to pull out a surprise 200k move for him when he was at Falkirk. Seemed a wee jakey with a reputation that was bigger than his ability. But Lovell ... I'm a huge fan of Lovell. I'd love to see him get a longer contract, as there's nae doubt in my mind that he can still produce the goods for us. Just needs a bit of confidence. I've seen him produce too many sound performances for Dundee to risk losing him to one of our rivals. He's easily the best, most natural striker we have at the club. A bit of confidence goes a long long way. If it was his head on the end of Fosters cross, his confidence would be sky-high just now.
  5. Combine that with the fact that Calderwood and Paterson got rid of Young's merry wee gang of pricks (Darren Young, McGuire, Rutkiewicz, Esson, etc), Young's realised he's now at a professional club who take their business extremely seriously. Aberdeen FC has changed a lot since Young left for Dunfermline. We've matured as a club and have got rid of the "big fish, small pond" attitude that plagued us for a decade.
  6. Nae really a case of "how things change". It's more of a case of the doom and gloom merchants are hiding in the corner just now. They'll get plenty more chances this term, like when we lose the final of the UEFA Cup in extra time, they'll be blaming Wiggy.
  7. Priceless! Who was the last non-Darren Mackie player to score for the Dons in Europe?
  8. Aye min, that's nitpicking at its best. Thank fuck they even reported the Dons match wioot slagging us ... unlike certain other rags from Weejville that begin in Daily and end in Record.
  9. Sittin on his erse collecting millions fae the premiership deal that John Viola landed him. Oh wait, no. He's somesick in Norway
  10. If the national team like him in midfield, then surely his club should play him there too!
  11. The youth system got shagged when Drew Jarvie was left in-charge of things under Ebbe's reign. Years of hard work from Cooper et al was undone by the mighty combover. I don't think we've ever really recovered from that setback in our youth system.
  12. Thing is, we know he's capable of scoring goals ... and good ones at that! He's had decent scoring runs for both Falkirk and Hearts. But for Bristol and us he is completely gash. Punt him. Make room for someone who is actually going to put in a bit of effort (no, I'm not talking about Derek Young!)
  13. Bring back Kjaer! The man was a legend, and easily the best keeper we've had since Leighton and Snelders, and probably the best keeper we'll see in a Dons jersey for a good decade or so.
  14. It's the Aberdeen-effect, I tell ya. How many players have we signed with decent records? And how many of those players have carried on their successes in a red shirt? I'd probably say Arild Stavrum would be the only one of recent times
  15. People who say he's great simply see the stats at the end of the season and say "he's our top scorer, so he must be good" Give Lovell the amount of second chances that Mackie's had, and we might nae be struggling at the bottom end of the league at the moment!!!!
  16. Aye, isn't there normally a Scotland flag in that wee bottom corner of the RDS? Fit numpties sat there??? I mean, sitting where there's seats? Fitiver next?
  17. Nah. Real will mop that cash up by themselves. Their appearance fees are even bigger than Barca's, as far as I know. Still, would help remind people in Aberdeen that there is actually a football club in the city that they can go and see.
  18. At last. It's time to unleash "The Jeff" upon Scottish football. Be interesting to see how JDW fairs against a half-decent quality opposition. He did well against the Highland League chappies.
  19. He moved here from Wolverhampton. My question ... why the hell did he go and get a place in the central belt? If this is true, sounds to me as if he just wanted the move back to Scotland and grabbed the first club that could say yes to his wages. Now that he's here, he's engineering a move to a central belt club. If he was serious about moving to the Dons, he'd buy a house in Banchory. Not the central belt!! Aaaaaargh, it's Craig Hignett all over again!!!
  20. We snoozed when Schmeichael was on offer. "Oh, he's only living inside his father's huge shoes". Now we're stuck with Clanger and Soapy for the rest of the season ... and the huns will get one of them for free at the end, cos we said "no you cannae buy our shite keeper for a mint!" this summer.
  21. I might be alone here, but I thought we were actually okay when we had Ebbe as manager. Remember, he was working with absolute shite in his first season. Then he gradually got better and better, and in his penultimate season he took us to within one win of 3rd place, and noteably he took us back into Europe on merit. The 2001-02 squad was pretty fuckin immense, and we did have some very memorable matches with that squad. We were getting wins when we really shouldn't have, and the only laughable part of us was the fact that we kept getting absolutely horsed when we went to face any team in Glasgow.
  22. My thoughts exactly. They're not in the SPL for a very very good reason ... they're not good enough!! IF we play to our strengths, we should shove four or five past them without reply. But that's Aberdeen's downfall - against lesser teams, we just dinnae bother showing up
  23. Is it possible that the quality of players in the SPL has deteriorated so much that players like Young look okay now. Back in the early 2000s, money was being thrown around the SPL like crazy, and big name players that just shouldn't have been in the SPL were playing in our top flight. Now, the league is filled up with Scots and guys who cannae get games for English First Division sides. Young's not improved. He's just not on his own in looking so bland anymore.
