  1. Just read the article in the P&J saying that Jeffrey De Visscher was invited over to watch the Killie game, and was suitably impressed with the club, the manager, the stadium and the fans! "This is a big club, playing in a big stadium. Everyone breathes football here and I like that. I was here to watch the match with Kilmarnock a few weeks ago and seeing everyone in the big stand with their red shirts on was very impressive. I can't wait for the new season to start." Imagine if he'd seen the last game against the huns!!!!! Shit, he'd sign on an amateur contract for sixteen years!
  2. Haven't we got a finger in this new fandagled pie that is being built ontop of the Chris Anderson Stadium? I was lead to believe that the Dons would be major contributors to the project under the pretence that the Dons would get priority use of the indoor training facitilities there.
  3. Yeah yeah. Whatever mate! I've already fallen for that link once today. I'm nae doing it again ... cheeky barsteward
  4. Haha! You're lucky!!!! Pepper was a
  5. I see that The Times are quoting Al Fayed as saying he's giving Laurie Sanchez around £10million to play with this summer, and that Anderson is "very high" on Fulham's shopping list. Could we see a bidding war between Middlesbrough, Fulham and Everton take place for Anderson? I sincerely hope so. Believe me, I do NOT want Anderson to go as he is the rock around which our team needs to be built. But if he is to go, as I said a few days ago, I'd rather a ferocious bidding war took place between some big English clubs so that we can get as much money for him as possible. And I'm talking NO LESS than £2million ... which in my view is an absolute bargain price for a player like Anderson who can not only defend spectacularly, but can also lead a team competently!
  6. Whilst were on that note then, BRING BACK THEO
  7. I had to laugh at the Celtic "away" strip in the season that Jorge Cadette signed. The idea of an "away" strip is so that if any other team has your home colours in their strip, you can change to a DIFFERENT COLOURED STRIP! Anyway, Celtic's home was green'n'white ... as per usual. But their away strip was ... wait for it ... green and darker green! Therefore, regardless of whether the likes of Hibs were to play at home or away when they face Celtic, they would HAVE to change into their away strip. Just another stupid little thing that makes me hate Celtic even more. They truly are "the new Rangers"
  8. Unfortunately, I remember the game well. One of the few games that we saw Paul Bernard appear in the starting lineup!! I remember seeing Bernard get substituted, and then Pepper run onto the field ... and then actually get sent off so quickly that he BEAT Bernard to the tunnel!!! Couldnae fuckin believe it. Any credibility that man had with the Dons fans went completely out the window at that moment in time. And to think he was tipped to be the "direct replacement for Craig Hignett". As much as Hignett fucked us over, Pepper wasn't fit to lace Hignett's boots.
  9. I rememember the game well, I took my now wife to it when she over over visiting. Was that the game on 2nd January? The one where the Tims scored first and looked like mauling us, but then Russell Anderson popped up with a timely header to level it.

    Smileys

I'm in the middle of installing new smileys on the site. Don't be alarmed if you see a series of red crosses where the smileys normally are. This should be fixed soon
  12. We shifted to red when colour photography technology became readily available. But for the purpose of distinguishing the Dons on press photos in the early years, we played in Black/Gold
  13. Hemin. Is this the new Inverness Reds website or something? I'm suitably impressed with the site! Easily the most media-rich AFC website on the web! Keep up the awesome work, you guys! Yer an invaluable source for all Dons fans all around the globe. I particularly enjoyed grabbing a look at the Denmark photos. Brought back some awesome memories.
  14. I still reckon the club would do well to move the away fans to a different stand. Perhaps move them to the Merkland and free up the entire South Stand for the home fans. Biggest problem is the bulk of the vocal fans are situated in the RDS Upper. By the time the noise gets to the pitch, it's all but faded out. And by the time the voices and songs get to the corner of the South Stand, they've all but gone. It's awesome when the South pipes up with a song, as the South and RDS try to mimic each other. But there's too much of a gap between the two, and they end up completely out of time with each other. Shove the away fans in the Merkland, and you've got the two most vocal sections of the home support right next to each other. Crank up the atmosphere at Pittodrie, and you'll soon find opposition teams starting to suffer as a result.
  15. Well said Armani81. Who gives a flying fuck if he's from Glasgow? Have you seen the number of reds who travel to the games from the Glasgow area??!! HEEEEAPS! I've known a number of Dons fans who've got stick at Pittodrie because of their accent. For fuck's sake, they're standing cheering the Dons ... in the Aberdeen end ... and other Dons fans are giving them stick cos they don't have a doric accent??!!! What the fuck is up with that?? You can't choose where you are born. But you CAN choose who your loyalties lie with. I think that matters a great deal!!
  16. Did you ever see the Red Final sketch about the making of the Northsound away strip (the blue one)? It's priceless. Basically the designer doesn't have a clue who Aberdeen are, so he chooses a random colour ... blue. Then he gets stuck for ideas, so he goes out on the piss. He comes home and is so smashed he spews all over the strip ... and hey presto, the away strip is designed.

    Arcade

That's a very good point indeed. I never noticed that it disappeared. Let me have a look at where it has gone, and I'll try to reinstate it. Won't be able to do it for a day or so as I'm going to see Pirates 3 tonight
  18. Just finished watching the 2-0 game highlights again, only this time full volume. I still cannae get over how loud Pittodrie was when Seve and Lovell's goals went in. Unbelievable. I've never heard an SPL ground sound like that before! If only we could fill Pittodrie more often, it definitely help our cause. The players must've got such a huge lift knowing they had 17000 fans right behind them for the whole match (and before anyone says "but it was a sell-out", I'm taking into consideration that one or two of the 20,000 fans at the game were huns.
  19. Pretty cool site. Interesting to see how the Aberdeen strip has changed over the years. Still reckon the 86/87 kit was the nicest kit ... it was the last decent one before company logos were sprawled over the front of the shirts. But EEWWWWWWWWW, we played in blue originally!!!!!!
  20. Where's the "Aberdeen" option? I see Fulham have apparently thrown their weight into the Anderson equation as they've lost out on their bid to try to sign Hyypia from Liverpool. I don't want Anderson to leave, but if he does leave then I want a bidding war to take place between some Premiership big guns so that we get AS MUCH as possible for him ... none of this "three quid and a broken player of your choosing" that the Old Firm deem acceptable.
  21. I'm not sure that he is a defender/midfielder. This Ilford-based article seems to think otherwise: http://www.ilfordrecorder.co.uk/content/r...
  22. Quite worrying that some clubs see Aberdeen as a bargain basement. Perhaps it is for the best that this "unidentified" agent came forward when he did, as now I'd like to think Stewart Milne will not take the first offer that comes along ... unless it's 50million for the whole squad!
  23. Aye. He was trying to spell Rob, and ended up spelling RFC
  24. And is Kurrant nae a striker? Cannae mind Byrne challenging Ronaldo for that much coveted "best striker" award!
  25. Must admit to absolutely definitely being the first ever person to compare Ricky Foster with Rino Gattuso, but ... It took a lot of kicking and screaming from Gattuso to accept that he wasn't an attacking midfielder, and that he'd be best sitting in a defensive role. Dick Advocaat wasn't his favourite person in the world after this move. But hey, he's gone on to realise that he IS a better player when playing in defence. And just yesterday he picked up a Champions League winners medal for his efforts! Who's to say Foster's simply been playing in the wrong position all this time, and that he is at his most effective at Left Back?!!!
