Aberdeen vs Kilmarnock (26/01/19 )
tlg1903 replied to KennyFuckinPowers's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
what surprised me most about this game was Kilmarnock, they showed us a bit too much respect if you ask me. They played for a draw and executed that defensive game plan to perfection. Sometimes you just have to doff your cap and say "well played", only way we were scoring today was through a big defensive mistake, a direct free kick or an absolute worldy from outside the box. -
From a wee glance at a hibbee forum this is the going theory. Lennon has a go at Flo Flo defends himself Lennon goes tonto SDG and DMac step in to defend Flo Lennon goes even more mental, launches chair at SDG SDG and DMac request meeting with LD Lennon goes even more insanely mental at LD, using seriously inappropriate language Suspended. All apparently, of course.

May still set up 2 against accies. His cross to Cosgrove and his corner for Ferguson. That's hard to drop imo. -

I wonder if gms might drop out, he's not looked at the races the last two games and would be a good impact sub. -

Tough game, no question. Hopefully home advantage will swing it our way. Stewart is going to get dogs abuse from a bigger than average killie support, if he scores there will be scenes. 3-1 dons. Think mcginn will start this one after not playing midweek though I'm not sure who for. May pretty much set up 2 against a cues so big call to drop him. -
Mcwhirter made a good point last week that gives me pause for thought. "Alex Salmond is the most investigated politician in Britain. Every cheque-book hack, intelligence spook, disgruntled senior cop, political party spin-doctor...has been trying to pin something on him since 1990. BBC set up a unit into his "gambling debts" in late 90s. Nada" Given this, why has nothing like this come to light before? For example, Weinsteins sleazy ness was common knowledge in Hollywood. I'm reserving any judgement until there are actual facts to consider.

I had similar thoughts.

Wouldn't surprise me, say what you like about deeks transfer dealings but when a player doesn't work out they are usually gone quickly.
-
2bh I think we got lucky getting Lowe back so I'm not sure the club deserves too much credit in getting him back. Hell, Derby probably called us. The whole thing is an odd one re Stewart being recalled. I can't help but wonder if afc got in touch and said we will pay more and brum had a free recall clause.

Anyone with the nickname lamps is always going to be a fud imo

I wonder if losing to them in the 90's will be used by the management in this one. suspect we will horse them something in the region of 5-0. Hope we go with Lewis logan devlin mckenna lowe gms shinnie ferguson mclennan wilson cosgrove

Aye this was my thought when i started hearing of derby fans dislike for lowe, i've been to derby and can confirm it's full of thick cunts . The boy has a bright future in my eyes and two games in a misfiring team is not enough to make a judgement. Re Lampard himself though i've heard him speak a few times over the years and he's no fool. Pretty sure i read an article a while back when he was at chelsea and it talked about the squad being given an iq test wiith Lampards being the highest by a mile. Something in the 140-150 range if memory serves. Also said he was tory but that's hardly a surprise. I know what you mean with the midfield, there's just no cutting edge. We really miss Maclean and Christie, there's no one in the middle that can thread a pass at all. Greg Stewart might be the best we can hope for this window, really scunnered we didn't go for Allan.
-
It's not like shinnie has anything to prove for scotland either, he's done just fine in all apearances.
-
Gutted, would have loved to sign him
-
Did we not stuff the huns the week before?

I think Celtic will be wary of that 2bh, they have been humiliated over the John McGinn affair and not getting McKenna would be even more embarrassment which they really don't want right now. It just seems to me that McKenna is happy to stay till the summer (when he will surely move on). If a richer side comes in with 8 plus and 20% sell on in january then fair enough he will likely be sold but I just have the feeling McKenna doesn't want to stay in Scotland.... and nor should he as he has the potential to be a really top end CH. I do disagree slightly at the level he could go to though and think he could get a regular game with a lower to mid level prem side. Bournemouth would probably be a really good for him given the manager and the opportunity to play (their defence isn't the best). Personally I would like to see him go abroad though and in particular to Italy given how well they do defending but that's highly unlikely to happen.

I posted that in a rush, apologies for not getting my point across better. What I meant, rocket, is that I suspect Mckenna has his eyes on a bigger prize. Why go to celtic when you will earn 30k tops and be tied to a 5 year deal when you could go to England and not only earn triple that but play in a much better league for one's development? When celtic came sniffing in the summer he didn't seem at all fussed that afc dinghied the bid.
-
I just don't think mckenna is interested in celtic 2bh.
-
Cummings is a mercurial talent. Now say what you like about DM but by and large his players really want to play for him. If it came to pass I reckon he would get a pretty decent tune out of him. It's a no from me mainly on hunnish grounds but I wouldn't be raging if we did sign him.
-
I would have mulumbu if it meant shinnie was lb rest of the season. Rocket I think you're getting ando and Campbell confused.
-
Johnny Russel doesn't really excite me. Decent enough player but I just don't think he's what we need. Had a look at his stats for last season: 10 goals and 7 assists in 30 games which doesn't sound too bad 2bf but when you dig a little deeper his passing and finishing are not the best. He's a blunt instrument when we need a scalpel.... Imo anyway.
-
Doubt tansey got much from us, afc would have known about the Helen move i suspect.
-
Moyes is apparently interested in the Stoke gig so Mcinnes for next boss there could be classed as a dark horse at best. Stoke are a bit of a mess by the sound of their forums and their fans fucking hate Rowett so any new boss will have not being Gary Rowett as a big plus mark. All that said there probably would be money to spend and they are 13 points clear of the drop so in no immediate danger either. If they did approach its going to be more of a temptation than Sunderland was, decent size club with a solid support.

As a game I found it a bit meh to be honest. It held my attention but for 2 of the worlds best teams it wasn't exactly a classic.
-
The back three didn't actually do too bad all things considered. I thought Ball looked better in there when logan got injured. By all accounts this is a tough place to go but I felt we were pretty comfortable most of the game. That said Livi's attitude really impressed me, 2-0 down with 5 to go they showed no sign of giving up. All in a great result and encouraging performance despite injury and tactical changes. I wonder if Wilson is actually just finally responding to the competition of May and Cosgrove working well together rocket. I wouldn't say he was electric today or any other ridiculous hyperbole but he certainly looked far more like the player we thought we had signed. Good touch, attitude, awareness and knows where the back of the net is. He could have had a second assist today too if May hadn't sliced it wide come to think of it. A few more performances like that and he may actually yet be a real asset to us. TC I actually turned to my pal when Gleeson came on and said it should be fine as there's about 60 mins left of the game. He did alright when he came on, was always looking to pass forward too. We haven't seen much of from an afc cm since maclean left.
