  1. I quite agree, from all accounts mair and considine seemed to not only be on good form but have a good understanding together. I can understand why JC would want to bring his captain back in to the side but in hindsight he should have gone into midfield
  2. Last year and a half in the job i thought russel really came into his own, was a lot more verbal and a real leader on the park
  3. :hammer: :hammer:
  4. I had a wee look into that and booth played the game after the minkerwell game but that was his last game in red. Patersons run in was abysmall. Lost the last 5 games on the trot. Looking at it made me realise that however much i get annoyed with some of calderwoods tactics or player selection only 4 years ago things were fucking woefull!!!!
  5. Pretty confident about this game which worrys me. Last time i was confident of getting 3 points we lost to fucking inverness
  6. more down to booths play one game then miss three through injury that ensured he didnt get a new contract. Incidently not good enough for calderwood as booth was still available for a new deal when he took over
  7. think this is more an article to point out to mair that he's in the team because of injuries but if he keeps current form up he's got a chance of being first choice. I.e dont rest on your laurels son
  8. Smith injury concern for Aberdeen Smith (left) in action during Aberdeen's recent win over Ayr Aberdeen could be without Jamie Smith for up to two weeks after the midfielder picked up a calf injury. The 27-year-old was sidelined with a similar injury last season and is set to miss the upcoming matches against Hamilton and Dundee United. Assistant manager Jimmy Nicholl told Red TV: "It's come at a bad time for him if it's any longer than two weeks. But we'll have to wait to find out." Zander Diamond and Scott Severin are nearing a return from injury. Midfielder Severin has not featured in Aberdeen's last two games while Diamond last played in the 1-0 victory over Motherwell on 16 August. Nicholl added: "Scott Severin and Zander Diamond came back this morning in training. They were a very high standard as well - they were excellent." Oh well see ya in the last few games of the season then jamie
  9. Aye i thought that, whats this lads story?
  10. I see it as more utilising the versatility of players and if going 343 its putting most players bar seve in arguably their best positions. I.e. mulgrew and foster in midfield and smith and aluko up front
  11. Yep i like that, its flexible as well though cos if needs be seve can drop to defence and we can play 541 or if mulgrew and foster move forward 343
  12. Anything between 4th and 2nd. I think the scrap for these places is going to be tight and that that huns are going to waltz away with the league
  13. Oh yeah inverness jammed a 2nd one, forgot about that
  14. After the terrible opening result we had i did fear the worst but since then we've ground out some impressive results. Also to have conceded only 2 goals in 5 games shows that real progress has been made at the back. Given that we always seem to start the season pretty slowly under calderwood i think this bodes really well for our season prospects. Hopefully we will sign a wide player before the window closes tonight and if we do then im going to be pretty delighted with the squad. Thoughts?
  15. Last game of the season the first time we nearly got relegated and had to play in a play off 94-95 maybe? Anyway we had just beaten falkirk 2-0 (scott thompson and steven glass) and were on the way out of falkirk when literally a boulder comes through the window. Thankfully it landed in an empty seat but if anyone had been there it would have been serious injury. cops were there within 30 seconds to be fair and it turned out i was a hun that did it. Worst part was that we were stuck in falkirk for a further 3 hours, best bit was one of the boys got absolutley hammered and fell in the river. Ripped the piss out him all the way up the road
  16. Interesting. Reckon the dutch boy will be one as i suppose 28 is youngish. Hopefully the other two are a centre half and winger. If we get that in i'll be pretty chuffed with our squad........ though clangers does have his moments and apparently bossu dropped one last night too
  17. More than anyone i blame players who dont want to further their career simpl;y because they dont want to move north of the central belt. Aberdeen's location hinders us a lot in terms of signing recognised players
  18. SFA - the international language of screaming
  19. Mulgrew - class........ nuff said! Kerr - doing just fine as far as im concerned. He's not nor pretends to be a flair player. Mcdonald - thought he was shite in the first half on sat but came onto a game in the second. Jury's out on this boy. Others? dunno not seen anything of them
  20. im quite pleased about this as im going to the loopalu festival in ullapool. Was gutted when i saw it clashed with the utd game. Now i can go to the pub and watch it
  21. The bee gee's (1 down 2 to go) - You win again
  22. Joy division -love will tear us apart
  23. oh ffs clearly not. Just thought it appropriate given the advert ran for about 12 billion years and every time i hear it i remeber how much i wanted to smack the twat in the advert
  24. was the only gum related song i could think of
