  1. Says on the beeb website that up to 3 spl clubs could go into admin if setanta doesnt pay up. I wonder who they would be? Probably st mirren, killmarnock and falkirk i would have thought. Would be bad for the league if they did but on the flip side might mean we could get andy dorman on the cheap. Wouldnt mind that taoul boy from killie either
  2. The "big kyle" comment after the cheating cunt had got mulgrew sent off really pissed me of.
  3. I dont believe he should be judged on his playing career if considered for this position. John hughes wasnt ever used in the same sentence as "slick passing movement " during his playing career but as a coach his teams do. Same can be said for tony mowbary. Dobbin's coaching cv is pretty good and he gives a shit about AFC. More than that i dont imagine him taking any shit on the coaching pitches nice guy or not.
  4. I cant help but find their delusions of granduer quite funny.
  5. Langfield for one, best keeper in the league this season if you ask me. Im not sure what your getting at harcus.
  6. I have to say i feel an element of sympathy for wright, he hasnt had much of a sniff of the first team. It kinda reminds me how JDV was treated. Signed as an attacker that could create/score chances (depending on player) in lots of media attention but then never played.
  7. I think calderwood instability would have put players off coming to aberdeen as well. Its common knowledge that there was pessimism of the managers ability in a wide cross section of the support, i dont think a player would be quite so keen to sign for a manager that might not be there in 6 months. Whatever else mcghee gives us he gives us a lot more appeal to new signings on these grounds alone though of course any new manager would have provided this. He wasn't my first choice but far from my last. That said I think he will do a better job than calderwood, possibly quite a bit, and im very pleased we have appointed someone who knows the club and the scottish game. There will be none of the JC niceness directed toward every single team except celtic. Hopefully we might even recreate the siege mentality fergie had going. No reason why not though, most teams fans in scotland hate aberdeen (well apart from some sellick and hibs fans). Im also actually looking forward to hearing a press release from the aberdeen manager, its been a while since i could say that the amount of drivel JC came out with. Welcome home Mr Mcghee
  8. I hear you there
  9. No its not. Given the finances of the club though its probably the best reference available now
  10. Honestly, what did you think was going to happen?
  11. I think thats the final nail in the "Eric Black dons manager" coffin, pretty gutted to be honest but onwards and upwards. Mcghee is clearly the no 1 favourite and given that Levein is unlikely to come he is now my first choice of the realistic options. One thing i will say about Mcghee is i think some of the comments saying we would be as well off with calderwood are wide of the mark. Mcghee is quite a different type of manager than JC is, I dont envisage any more ridiculous press comments under his (assuming he gets it) reign or any of the tactical lunacy of the past five years. Motherwell were a tough nut to crack in his first year in charge and its fair to say that though they disapointed this season they did get a few key injuries and that pitch would not have helped them in the slightest. We could do significantly worse
  12. Boothroyds cv is pretty good but I am very wary of appointing anyone who has no experience of the scottish game.
  13. Wow a debate about the wether Darren Mackie is any good or not, what a novel idea....
  14. Felt sorry for falkirk, thought they passed it around pretty well and dominated play. They should have had higdon on from the start, weir was shitting it everytime the ball wwent near him

    Team GB

I think smith has actually done the right thing here. Fuck them and their british bollocks, really looking forward to supporting whoever they play
  16. Not only that but can you imagine the ron atkinson effect on someone like aluko after his slur against desailly. No No Please Please No
  17. I agree. Before you even look at his record im willing to bet he knows absolutely fuck all about scottish football.
  18. I think this boy could be worth a fair wad of cash by the time he leaves. I would give him a new deal now even if he still has 2 years left on his current one
  19. Tom that video is a doozer, def going to put that on my face book page!!!!!! I dont want a manager from down south, i think it is really important we get in someone that grew up with scottish football and knows it inside out. Why? Because we are so dependant on youth development and a scottish manager will have a better understanding of the mentality of young scottish players.
  20. Nah its not the best if you ask me, at the end of the day its still red and as long as the inhabitants of it play well i really dont care
  21. I notice in the poll that black is by a country mile the most popular appointment for donstalkers. Does anyone think this is a fair reflection of the support as a whole?
  22. Well i want a gold plated khazi...... lets hope hughes is just as disapointed as i am
  23. HA! Yeah i did but it didnt mean i wasnt aware of it previously, got a good friend who's an arab and he's been bitching about how useless the midfield is without those two
  24. Whoever the new man he will surely take a good long hard look at the squad before making any signings. I would be pretty pissed if he spent money on strikers instead of a new centre half (mihadjuks has been released by ICT and i thought he looked pretty usefull), right back and central midfielder. Miller, bebo, paton, mackie, aluko and wright can all play there. They just need improved service (tin hat on).
  25. I would not be particularily delighted with john hughes as i dont think he's the man for the job. All that really goes in his favour for me is that he has a really good record with developing youth.
