Mitovs post matcher on RTV is worth a watch.
-
That's about 5 seats away from where I was funnily enough. The sun had just gone down too, it was such a pain in the arse all game and this was the first attack where I wasn't squinting.

Taking Keskinen off defo had some confused looks in the stands but I have to say Morris was effective when he came on. I think the took on the fb 3 times, beat him 3 times and got a decent balls in 3 times. Just watched the goal back there, the assist from him was much better than I realised at the time. It would have been easy to lob it in the box but he's shown really good instinct to keep it on the deck and find the players in space. And it was instinct too, if you watch closely he's not looked up from the moment he gets the ball. Lovely wee step over from Devlin as well. Chefs kiss the finish from Nisbet, he was fairly anonymous for the majority of the game but given how stodgy and thuggish county were there wasn't much in the way of service coming his way. It really was a clinical strike too, right in the corner. Here's hoping he goes on a run but it's brilliant he's off the mark early and even more so with a last minute winner. Let's not forget Mitov though. Tell you what I can understand why the farmers were gutted to lose him. What an unbelievably shrewd bit of business he has been and this win was earned by him as much as Nisbet. The penalty award was such a sickener and I didn't really see what happened due to the distance and sun. It was such a brilliant feeling when he saved it though and now having rewatched it ....... That's probably the best penalty save I've seen from a dons keeper since Theo's in the 90 Cup final. There was nothing wrong with the penalty and most goalies wouldn't get close to that even if they guessed the right way. It genuinely might be worth giving him a pay rise and extending his deal already because I would not be at all surprised if bigger fish weren't sniffing about him soon. On a personal note I really enjoyed being part of the crowd again and the away support was excellent all game.

County playing like hearts under levein. Anyone see a replay of that bad foul at the end? Looked a red from the other side of the pitch
-
Possibly, or maybe he's just figured out modern life is rubbish dead early.
-
He looks a wee bit like a young Damon Albarn with his hair like that Good move for the kid, the championship is so competitive.
-
Kudos, I'll never not admire that attitude. Did similar myself a few times but not to that extent so you have absolutely earned my respect. Hug them tight OD, mine was old but it was still sudden
-
That's really kind of you to say fellas, thank you . And yes manc, I've got a lot of optimism for the season which is a nice distraction. Football manager was my saviour 2bh panda, my boss was amazing and just gave me the week off but I was in real danger of falling in a big ol pit of jager meister. Champo saved me from that, I could actually get lost in it and was able to do a lot of subconscious processing whilst playing. I pinky swear I didn't mention it for sympathy btw, just felt I should explain my prolonged absence from attending given how opinionated I am about the dons .

I'm actually attending this one, my first game in years! It's a little bittersweet though, the reason I've not been to a game in ages is as my dog got older I just wanted to spend as much time with him as I could and bar county away any game is an all day affair for me. I had to say goodbye to him last month and fuck me it is tough. It will be nice to be part of it again though so I'm very much looking to this. County way is never usually easy but if we take the lead I can't see us not winning. An early lead and I think we may turn them over quite convincingly too. The only question mark about line up would be whether Sokler starts. He really seemed to fade against Killie and Nisbet may be preferred. 3-0 dons. No idea on scorer 2bh but I do hope Nisbet and Sokler can get a goal.
-
Really solid pre match presser from Nisbet on RTV. I'm starting to wonder if he's actually a closet dandy 2bh, he seems very genuine with just how much he wanted to come to Pittodrie. Early days yet but my fears of lack of professionalism are waning quite significantly.
-
Aye they have got that, apparantly fergie donated cash to it as well. The big news is former chairman Alan Savage is back in charge of the club and was key in securing the investment. I don't think it's a long term move for him, he's just in charge until he can find someone suitable to take on the job. As an Invernesian I was pretty worried about ICT, it would have been a disaster for the town and the highlands in general if the club had gone to wall. All the fans I know are very relieved right now, fingers crossed they get straight back up this season and hopefully back up to the top flight in due course.
-
ICT have massively got their house in order the past few weeks. I think it might be a decent move for him now.

Shinnaissance Take a bow slim
-
We have played some great stuff so far with Sokler the only player a bit quiet. Gueye took his goal well and has generally looked like a football at points. Some ball in from Shinnie but if anyone is getting an assist for that it should be Nilsen. 3 times I think he regained possession just outside the box in the build up to keep the pressure on.

I will give credit where it's due, that's a very solid interview from Nisbet on RTV. He genuinely seems like he really wants to be here and actually seems a bit brighter than I had previously given him credit for. He also said he's had a good pre season and ready to play so I'm interested to see what kind of physical condition he is in tomorrow. Given all the chat about professionalism I did raise an eyebrow at this comment from Thelin βHe also has all the personal attributes we look for in a player and we believe his energy will have an instant impact with our supporters.β I know it's early days with Thelin but to me he does seem very in tune with these sorts of things. I certainly don't have any doubts that Thelin has done his due diligence on Nisbet and will be more than aware of his past. Nor do I doubt that Thelin made the final decision on this, he was very much in a sellers market when cormack came calling so I doubt having to accept players he's not approved will be part of his contract. This does give me a bit more confidence that this may be a good move after all. If there was an option to buy I think it probably would have been mentioned by now. I had a look on social media at what Millwall fans were saying and they are fairly bitter and sneering of him. 2 mill is a significant outlay for them though 2bf and I'm not sure all is well behind the scenes there. An option to buy could have been looked into but I suspect Millwall would have wanted that fee to be high 6/low 7 figures which would likely kill that idea dead.

Pretty underwhelmed by this 2bh, I agree that he's a solid striker at this level but I question the boys professionalism. That said, he's 27 now and maybe the penny has dropped that he doesn't have too long left in the game to make something resembling an impact on it. If that's the case and he comes in with an improved attitude this may yet prove a shrewd bit of business because he defo knows where the net is. I'm interested if we have an option to make it permanent or if this is seen as a stop gap from the outset.
-
This is not a player that could be brought straight into the first team if that pic is recent. As I said, I've got a feeling/increasing by the day hope that this is just paper talk.
-
Seems like paper talk to me, bar keskinen which was probably leaked by Helsinki all business so far has been very discreetly done until they are in the door already. I wouldn't necessarily be adverse to Nisbet but I'm far from convinced he would be the no 9 we are looking for.
-
I actually wouldn't be adverse to granting them it. The best thing to happen to Scottish football since the play offs came in has been 3rd place getting guaranteed group stage football but we do need teams to perform in Europe to keep it. It would be better for the coefficient to have 4 Scottish clubs in the the group stages than 3 even if it is a long shot.
-
There is absolutely no danger we saw enough of him in the 15 minutes he was on the pitch to make a judgement on what his best position is. Not even close.
-
Pretty sure I saw someone like Chris harvie posting words to that effect the other day
-
So what's everyone's thoughts on the Gaffer so far then? I was cautiously optimistic about the appointment after looking at his record and I was particularly encouraged when I heard he was something of geek from a Swedish journo. Since then he has hugely grown on me I have to say. He's always calm and forthright, the team is shaping up quite nicely under him so far, he showed against St J he's tactically flexible and clearly the players like playing for him and his coaching staff. B+ on his report card, so far so good.
-
Just watched Thelins presser, both are in the squad and I'm quite surprised at how excited I am to see these guys in red. So given that, fully expect season ending injuries to both of them because that's how life normally works for me
-
Do we even know if they have work permits yet?
-
Hope springs eternal he will come back before he retires, the club has clearly got under his skin a bit. I watched the Girona game last night away to Betis. It is, of course, a big step up from playing in Scotland but there's plenty of talent in that team to make chances for him.
