  1. I still think a new stadium is the best value for money in terms of facilities but the consistent problems of finding a location for a new ground may be forcing the club's hand.
  2. Not that it happens these days but it used to do my head in when hun cunt and useless pundit Craig Patterson used to say "Jimmy Calderwood will be sounding the bugles on the touchline" or words to that effect. Cunt
  3. I think DVD is clearly a talented player, he's technically good, can pick a pass etc. I question his defensive ability though and losing denayer was a far bigger blow to the Celtic back line then VD going will ever be. Killie last night is the prime example, it was very easy for Maggenis to win headers in the box. Ten mill is good money in the bank for them but it doesn't mean they will get an equally good player in to compensate, especially if they don't make the cl group stages
  4. Aye Deek doesn't do polishing turds. For the most part his signings have been pretty decent I would say. Rooney, Shinnie, Maclean, Ward, Logan, flood and to a certain extent Goodie you just can't argue with. Jury is still out on Taylor but he has defo improved. Loans like Monakana, Tate, and the short term for Driver I have no issue with as they provided squad depth despite not overly impressing. Yes there has been wyldes and zola's but you could argue these were made when the club needed positions filled and were unable to find better at the time. Overall Deek has more than earned the right to expect a little faith from the fans and if a signing doesn't work out we know the will be moved on pronto
  5. Pahahaha John Collins
  6. #awkward Sorry bud, was only jesting.
  7. Agreed, I like Wright a lot. If DM was to be poached tomorrow himself and Hartley would be top of my shortlist
  8. The only person I can't keep up with is yo momma ;-)
  9. Well here's one right out of left field https://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/fp/aberdeen-fc/dons-homing-in-on-red-star-belgrade-striker/
  10. Shaqiri looked brilliant at the 2010 world cup but doesn't really seem to have done much since. Stoke could be a really good move for him
  11. I ain't got no six pack
  12. Yeah but it's Hamilton. Play full strength against the tims, shake it up against Hamilton, full strength against hertz. Easy
  13. http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/33847029 Griffiths comes across far better than I would have expected
  14. DM stirring the pot nicely in the herald, he really does remind me of fergie sometimes. The Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes has slapped down Ronny Deila's assistant, John Collins, over comments in which he claimed that Scottish players are not good enough to offer Celtic proper preparation for European football. The Parkhead No.2 sparked widespread anger when he claimed Ladbrokes Premiership players are not good enough to test the champions and that his side had to learn how to defend better in Europe. He claimed Scottish players are not clever, nor quick enough, thinkers to give Deila's outfit a real challenge and that there are not enough quality players to punish them. But McInnes reacted angrily to reports of Collins's remarks which he called disrespectful. "He's got a lot to say for an assistant manager, to be honest," McInnes insisted. "He's entitled to his opinion but if it was that easy they'd win the treble every year. "I think it's very disparaging; it's a poor comment. "Whether he thinks that or not, I think it's disrespectful to the rest of the league to say that. It's disappointing. "There is a level of competition there that can test them and I think what he said is a slap in the face to the rest of the league." Collins accusations are bound to foster antagonism from other managers while McInnes's retort could signal a tense game when the teams meet at Pittodrie on September 12.
  15. Killie came with the basic gamelan of hacking their way through the match. They were pretty odious it has to be said. Overall a very solid performance, delighted to see shinnie at lb and he was a threat all game. I'm calling it, Smith is going to be a big player for us this season
  16. I'm driving to this from Glasgow and heading back down after. Got a spare seat if anyone down this way fancies it. In Driving Main Driving Scrappy 2-0 Smith and Rooney
  17. Focus on a title should be the priority imo
  18. Agreed, they should give freebies to schools to fill it up and get then hooked young
  19. Rhodes clearly knows where the back of the net is but he's not very mobile, I think he doesn't get the call more often due to this.
  20. Agreed re Robson. He's supposed to be the calm experienced one as well! Flood seems to have played himself into contention but he could really only come in for Shinnie. Given you can't see us not playing with three at the back you're gonna pick Shinnie alongside Jack every single time. But, then again, we hasn't ever had a manager harder to predict in my memory so we could yet go 433 with shinnie at lb
  21. Brilliant read http://scottishcomedyfc.com/the-man-the-myth-the-legend-eoin-jess-the-pele-of-portsoy/
  22. Decent player but 14mill? Ooooft
  23. They have lost so many players, wonder if anyone will bid for christie before the end of the window
  24. You're bang on there Manc, it is a true test of the squad. IMO DM will be drilling into them as I type to remember back to this point last season. I think the squad will be really focused tommorow and the depth we have now means fatigue is not the same issue. For example: Rooney will def start, I think we can all agree on that. Combine his freshness, record against utd and determination to take his chance and stake a claim for thursday he is going to be right up for it. You have to fancy him giving their defence a torrid time as a result. It's so hard to predict DM lineups but I think we will go something like this. ward logan Quinn/Taylor Considine Shinnie flood Jack Mcginn/smith Maclean Hayes/smith Rooney edit, put wright when i meant smith #fail
  25. Dreaming of the title but realistic about my hopes. Groups stages of Europa would be amazing for the money alone and would further experience and improve the squad. If we make the group stages though we need at least two more players, a cm and a striker. Yes shinnie can play in the cm, and I'm coming around to the idea, but we would need to rotate more and we could do with a another CM imo. A Heikinnen, Bisconti or more recently an Arnason type player would be a great addition to our squad. failing a title challenge I would think at least one cup final would be base camp for me in terms of a good season.
