  1. teams out and as is common with DM you cannot be sure how we are lining up. Could be 5-3-2 or 4-3-3, im hoping 5-3-2 as i really don't want shinnie in midfield.
  2. In fact could a mod move this post to the 25/1 thread in aberdeen fc chat please?
  3. If you register a new accoutn with coral you can get a 20 pound free punt just by betting a fiver. They have us at 25/1 to win the title so when you add the free bet on its the equivalent of a 126/1 stake for a fiver. That's worth a flutter surely
  4. I'm far from convinced we even need May let alone on loan if you catch my drift. We have three talented strikers, 4 if you include Mcginn. I'm expecting a much better campaign from Goodwillie and Shankland and I really think we are going to give some teams a right doing this season. Assuming the new keeper works out (the decision has been made on that so theres no point stressing about it any longer) the only area of concern for me position wise in the first team is Def Mid . I like flood, you cant question that he's a grafter and when on his game a right pain in the arse to play against but he's too hit and miss and there's no natural replacement. I had wondered if Gibbons was going to get more game time this season as I thought he had potential there but he's been let go. IMO we should go for John Mcginn from Saint Mirren, we would get him for a development fee which would be 150 k tops and he would take floods role in the team from him quite easily.
  5. That's not a bad move for him actually, he should get plenty games for them you would think but only warm a bench at best for AFCB. He didn't play enough last season and ipswich will likely challenge for the play offs so its a decent side for him to go and try to improve. This is a big season for Fraser IMO, if he doesn't get more game time now then his career has hugely stalled at a crucial part of his previously promising career.
  6. It's going to be interesting to see how much game time Quinn gets. He's clearly intended to replace Anderson in the squad. DM may be thinking about putting him in alongside Reynolds as a regular partnership with Taylor and Considine as a second or back up partnership. My point is, I suppose, last season Reynolds was pretty much undroppable due to lack of cover, being quick, natural left footer and also captain. Assuming Shinnie is going to be deployed primarily at LB (oh god, oh god, please, he's the best LB we have had since Robertson and you can argue that this is the first time the LB situation has been properly addressed since his departure to the huns in the early 90's) then Considine will be challenging for the CB position. I could see him and Taylor having a good balance as a pairing now I think about it, Considine is quite streetwise these days and was an integral part of the squad last season. Regardless though if Quinn works out we all of a sudden have multiple options for the back line, he could be a key signing. I'm not convinced myself, I was told he was known as bit of a boozer at county from a pretty reliable source but in McInnes I trust I suppose.
  7. Langfield i reckon. He'll be binned after his testimonial for sure
  8. No shit Sherlock ;-) This works a little better for me it has to be said but I can fully understand your disappointment
  9. Opening fixture moved to Sunday 3.30 pm ko
  10. Yeah can't argue with any of that. He did pick up a wee bit toward the end of the season
  11. I don't think he would cost that much and given he's out of work would probably be open to offers, that he still clearly has a lot of love for the club can't hurt either. I think whether he would be prepared to uproot his family back to Scotland would be a much bigger hindrance. That said on doing a little research his kids are 22 and 19 respectively so probably leaving/left home.... Worth offering him an interview at the very least.
  12. Not really any quotes there other than Leighton. Far from convinced it's a done deal at the moment. I still would love to see the out of work Theo Snelders get it
  13. That would be a very interesting signing, he's clearly got great potential. Can you imagine the seethe from ict fans if this happened?
  14. Pathetically only a few of them seem to care about anything more than that he's irish/probably Catholic. Only one of them even has clocked that he would never be interested in dropping down a division or that we wouldn't sell to them. Fucking Huns
  15. Yeah this appointment could prove to be half baked
  16. Great news but I doubt he will see it out, west Brom well poach him sooner or later
  17. It's harsh on McCall, I thought he had done enough. This is a bit of a gamble by the Huns if you ask me. It's going to be interesting to see what kindfof player they are able to attract.
  18. Works have taken the draw before the game, Ireland had to win we didn't End of
  19. David Raven is more than capable rb but he's 30 now, couldn't see DM going for him 2bh. It's probably likely any replacement will be in the Logan mould i.e. a young player we have never heard off from the english lower leagues.
  20. Bolton would be a good fit for him it has to be said. Right location, better money and good chance of getting regular games in better league with a potential challenger for promotion at some point. Considering his circumstance I would be surprised if that didn't turn his head. So say Bolton's interest is for real and he goes who are we all thinking could be a feasible replacement?
  21. I imagine that would be an appealing move for Logan, 150k is laughable though. Still, only a year left on his deal if memory serves? 500k would probably be the most wet would get if so
  22. Weirdo ;-)
  23. All fair points Tom, given they didn't even bid in tnt first place it's probablya non starter anyway
  24. Italy being a fairly major european country where football is the no 1 sport I would think the infastructure is already in place to host big tournaments. Stadia wise http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_football_stadiums_in_Italy They have quite a few 40k + size stadiums but how many of them meet all fifa's other criteria I don't know. It could be a case of only a few having to be modified and, if so, they wouldn't have to worry about building any stadia. In that case 3 years could be plenty of time. Of course there are a lot of if's there but having the 80k San Siro already would be a big asset in the event that they decided to bid.
