  1. If the Tims beat the Jutes by a single goal the huns need to bang in 5 against us at the Pitt. Unfortunately if there's a team likely to bottle it and ship 5 goals it's Aberdeen.
  2. while the cup runs were great (while they lasted) the capitulation to United and the DISGRACEFUL defeat at the hands of QotS destroyed what should have been a great season and another return to Europe. That basically was it for me, and I made the decision to not put any more cash into the club as a result. It wasn't a lot of cash, granted, but a couple hundred on merchandise (a top for me and a full strip for the loon), a couple of hats and scarves, and miscellaneous crap like pens and badges and probably a hoodie or so. Then a couple hundred on tickets and snacks and match programs if I can get to a couple of games when I'm over, mounts up. Basically they can forget me spending money on a club that A/ Doesn't invest in players and B/ cheats the fans. I might still renew my RedWeb subscription, but since it's mostly audio only I might buy a subscription to some English team (and use their feeds to listen to Aberdeen games) so that AFC doesn't even get that out of me. As for live streaming games, there are sites I can go to to see those games. Cheated by the club once too often, I'm afraid. And until I see genuine investment (and the club made MILLIONS this season and haven't spent a penny bringing in a single decent player yet) I won't be spending any cash on the club whatsoever. Fuck them. No, fuck Milne and his flying monkeys, the bastard.
  3. I think we've needed a left back for about 15 years. No point us worrying about that now.
  4. You tacitly agreed that it was aimed at me by saying "not soley aimed at you", ergo I was correct in my initial assumption that you were talking to me given your subsequent admission of such. So, if you're going to address me, as we've established you did, then don't be alarmed or surprised when I respond.
  5. Well, they outplayed us at Pittodrie, though I will say it was against a Paterson team. And Paterson, I swear to christ, was sleeping through most of the game. I'm not exaggerating for effect, he was actually sleeping. I took a picture of it, actually. Calderwood is up on his feet screaming at his players and shouting (probably incomprehensible) instructions to his players, and Paterson, bless his little booze soaked heart, was sleeping. I must dig that picture out, so that when people moan about how bad Calderwood , they've got a frame of reference that shows how bad our previous manager was. Like I said, most fans cannae even remember Paterson, because they've got memories that only extend about 5 minutes into the past.
  6. You shouldn't have been directing it at me at all, given that I wasn't complaining
  7. I wasn't even there (had it on redweb) and I was howling with rage and throwing shit around. If I'd been there I'd have been tempted to throw a pie at the bastards as they sauntered off, having been taken to the cleaners by a SUPERIOR QotS team. That result pretty much made up my mind to buy ZERO AFC merchandise from now on. Usually I spend a few hundred on strips and merchandise and a fair amount on tickets in the time I'm over each year. No more. I'm not even sure I'm going to subscribe to Redweb again, just because I'm so disgusted by their performance v QotS. You and I seem to be in the minority amongst fitba fans, most of whom have the attention span of a goldfish. I'll long remember the QotS result, and I'm still raging at them... will be for months.
  8. Yeah, only I'm not complaining... in fact I said he was probably a better option than some shite freebie. I'm just not fooling myself that Miller staying here has anything to do with some love he has for a club he twice refused to join because he wanted more money. Given that fact, what in Miller's track record with AFC suggests he stayed for some new found love of AFC? No, he's still here because either no-one wanted him and we were his best option or because the club, worried as fuck that attendances are going to plummet next season, is making a cynical attempt to make it look like we're an ambitious club (which we most certainly are not) by giving Miller the cash he wanted. It could be no-one wanted him, it could be that we gave him more cash. Just let's not be entirely braindead and pretend it's because he loves AFC. No complaints in my post, just realism. Can't even see how the two can be confused.
  9. Thing was I remember sitting watching Calderwood's giant Dunfermline players totally pishing on Aberdeen's strikers a few seasons back. Even after we went ahead it was clear that we were struggling to match them physically, and in the second half they took us apart. If calderwood wants to sign giant lummoxes then that's fine by me, because I remember wishing to christ we had players like that.
  10. Awwww, were the poor wee lambies all upset because the bad Ultras voiced their disgust at being cheated in the game V QotS? Have to say I'm surprised AFC has forked out the extra cash to keep Miller, though this is probably a desperate attempt to persuade the fans to buy tickets next season rather than any real desire to improve the squad. I laughed when i read posts saying that Miller is staying because of some love for the club and that he could have earned more elsewhere but chose to stay. That's laughable. He's staying either because no-one else wanted him or we've ponied up the cash he wanted. I suppose better the devil you know, though. at least with Miller we know we're getting reliable mediocrity. If we'd had to go out and bring in a freebie replacement on peanuts then he could potentially (and probably would) have been even worse than Miller. Totally underwhelmed by this.
  11. I think we're confusing the health of the club with the health of the team.... which are two separate (if related) things. The team has definitely been improving under Calderwood. Tasked with getting us a cup run to match his solid top 6 finishes, he did that in style this year, before flying off the rails in spectacular fashion with a hammering from United, a humiliation from Queen of the South, and a lesson in football from Bayern Munich. We also got our customary top 6 finish again, by the skin of our fore, and the slight cash boost said top 6 finish will give us. The CLUB on the other hand continues to post losses each year, regardless of top 6 finishes. And mounting debt means the club IS in decline, year after year. This year was an anomaly, with the great big stack of cash that the three cup runs brought us. also the sale of Anderson for a couple of hundred thousand, the sales of clark and Hart for similar amounts, will bring in about 500k more than we have in transfer fees for 10 years. So we'll post a profit this year, and the CLUB will, for the first time in over a decade, show a positive balance. We'll then go back to losing money each year and continue the almost uninterrupted decline.
  12. When has ANY Aberdeen Director/Board member spent their money on the club? I've heard that Milne has spent his own cash, but that's never been substantiated, and I for one don't believe that for one second. I'd like to see some evidence to support that highly dubious claim. I well remember the board saying it would put 750,000 into the transfer fund, it never materialised. Then there was talk of them putting 300,000 of their own cash into the transfer kitty, and that never materialised either. The board is tremendous at saying they intend to do this or that, then nothing whatsoever happens. Training Ground, never happened. New Stadium, talking about it for as long as I can remember... well over a decade, and the most they've achieved is a drawing of what a new stadium looks like. Youth Academy, never happened. In fact the production of young talent through the Pittodrie youth system has been a dead duck for years, with one or two very rare exceptions. Links with African clubs to "Bring in the cream of young African talent". Laughed at at the time, and proven to be a joke. Links with Egyptian clubs at the beginning of this season. How's that working out for us? Promise to fill the team with the best young Scottish players. We'll, we've got Scottish players, but they're hardly 'the best'. And so on and so forth.... Also, right after the Semi v QotS, Calderwood announced that his budget was going to be REDUCED. I would have taken it that IF he had reached the final then his budget would have been INCREASED (possibly), but any budget would have remained static in the event of failure to progress to the final. We were very clearly told that it would be reduced, not remain static. The club has been in decline for years, and I don't believe that the ship has been steadied. Our results on the park have improved under JC, but the team's performance (apart from this season) has little impact upon the increasing debt of the club, which continues to mount each year (apart from this season). The ship got a little bail out this year with three very good cup runs and a top 6 finish... but the CLUB still sinking under the weight of the debt. Let's not forget that.
  13. Or we could point out that he's been stalling for weeks, so it's pretty fucking obvious he's not staying. When it's announced he's offski are we all supposed to look surprised and say things like, "well I never", and "By jimminy, I didn't see THAT coming"?
  14. Thing was that back then we were capable of spotting a talent and brining it to the club. Now the club is controlled by the mean and small minded, but they don't have the capability to bring in quality any more. In the season we make the play offs in europe, reach two cup semis and finish in the top 6 we're told that the budget is going to have to be slashed. Even Dick donald wasn't that much of a scrooge, and he certainly was nowhere near as downright fucking stupid as the halfwits running the club now. We're a club run by bad accountants, none of whom have anything like a footballing brain.
  15. Our club's 'ambition' is to remain in the top flight, while at the same time spending as little money as possible. So far they've achieved their 'ambition' every season, so there's little or no reason for them to change that. They're certainly NOT going to start paying bigger wages to keep better players.. and by 'bigger wages' I'm talking about a couple hundred quid a week.
  16. Almost without exception, when a player stalls on his contract (at Aberdeen anyway) it's because he's got his agent looking for more cash. Lee Miller, as we've seen, goes to wherever the cash is. Right now we play him as he's on our wage bill. In the meantime we look for his replacement, because we'll need one.
  17. So this is what passes for journalism in the EE, is it? One of their 'reporters' giggling like a fucking girl... "Teehee, I disguised myself and got an 'interview". What sad, sad, fucking fucks that man and his 'newspaper' are.
  18. The same that happened when the club said... "We're going to build a team full of the best young Scottish players" and "We're going to use our contacts in Africa to build a team of the best emerging African talent" and "I'm going to use my contacts to bring in some fantastic Dutch players". and "We're going to set up a youth academy to produce our own players". and "We're going to build a new stadium" and "We're going to invest 750,000 of the directors' own money" Same thing... ..what happened, in reality, was absolutely fuck all. It's all talk.
  19. Apparently.... A voluminous oaf, who apparently was a postie, who crossed picket lines during a strike (in a 'reporting' capacity)in order to make life harder for the real journalists. He's since had his crap posted in the Express, much to the chagrin of the entire English speaking world... but mostly to the annoyance of Dons fans and, now it seems, Dons players.
  20. Mackie isn't good enough to wear a red shirt, so for every dismal performance he makes it's perfectly acceptable to boo the hopeless cunt. By Diamond saying "Get behind the team" he's actually saying "Support us even though we're putting in inept performances and, despite supposedly being professionals, can barely string two passes together", he's also trying to shift the blame of these inept performances from the players (who are almost entirely at fault for their inept performances), to the fans. It's not the fans' fault that there are players on the field who shouldn't be wearing the red shirt of Aberdeen. It's not the fans' fault the club is technically bankrupt. It's not the fans' fault that the players don't know how to pass or trap a ball. It's not the fans' fault that Darren Mackie is an abysmal striker. It's not the fans fault that the club sits in the bottom six. It's not the fans' fault that the manager can't play 4-4-2 for more than 10 minutes at a time. It's not the fans' fault we lost the club captain. It's not the fans fault that we've shipped about 24 goals in 6 games. If the club wants the fans to support it then they need to show they're worth supporting. If I'd known Mackie was going to be subbed last night I'd have phoned my mate who went to the game and told him to hold his mobile phone up to Mackie's ear so I could boo the worthless prick myself.
  21. He is very trying, I'll say that for him. First choice striker next season inna, undoubtedly. Far's the 'stabmyselfinthefacewitharustyicepick' smiley?
  22. Alan McInally, for those who never saw him play, was absolute gash. It was unbelievable, we were all stunned here in Scotland when he signed for Bayern. But football's a funny game sometimes, and there's no guarantee that big sides won't sign pish like him,
  23. He said: "It has been a long time since I last scored and I aim to change that tonight. Ah, Mackie, min. Yer comments are almost as hilarious as your attempts at being a striker. almost.
