Isn't that basically how it works in cricket? The batsman/bowler's captain appeals...it goes to the Hawkeye and it's either "yes your decision is correct or no it's not correct or if it's iffy then it the officials original call" - so that even if it looked like the ball was going onto clip the wicket it wasn't a clear and obvious error. And it takes about a minute.

Thought so to on first viewing (and probably a red card) but on replay the keeper did seem to get the ball. Can't believe the Hearts player (Grant?) wasn't sent off for going straight through Barron. Duk's run for the second goal was great...he ambled inside the defender who, even though Duk was struggling with cramp, couldn't keep up with him, Miovski drew 3 defenders leaving Vinny wide open. Second half performance was much better, thought Scales and McKenzie were excellent.

Your comment re Stewart/Beckenbauer is spot on...when he lost the ball because of a heavy touch when it was still 0-0 was more Ifil-esque. It's just like the incident when we were 2-1 against Annan and he tried to be too clever, got caught out and fortunately they fucked up a great opportunity. He won't get away with it against Jota for instance. Really enjoyed watching yesterday (no trains so no Ally Pally fitba for me) and the Killie commentator was hilarious! - the incident when Killie's skipper completely wiped-out (Kennedy I think) near the touchline and, as he was watching the replay, "Nothing much in that".

Could be another Tommie Hoban who also looked beyond us but was plagued by injuries. Hope it doesn't happen to Coulson.

Agree with that a typical "British" game and we played into their hands. Second half was much better though once we equalised we were far too gung-ho and that break-away so nearly cost us...reckon if the passer and receiver (don't remember either of their names) were the other way round they would have scored. Hope Clarke plays basically the same formation on Wednesday and doesn't do a Smithy '91!

According to the Guardian online the new club's game against Napoli on Tuesday has been moved to Wednesday because of limitations on police resources. So what is happening on Tuesday that is such a drain on resources but doesn't apply on Wednesday? I would only hazard a guess that on Tuesday the old biddy's body is lying in state at ipox because they are ultra-loyal (except for paying their taxes, obviously) and they have to keep out the kaffliks.

Ok, the only thing I can remember Hayes doing was complaining to the ref and scoring a goal. Apart from that what did the Romans etc.

Thought Vinny was shite today...he's obviously got an excellent first touch but once he's got time to think about what to do he looks lost. Same with Ramadani, broke forward a couple of times and then thought "what do I do now" - eg the last couple of minutes, got as far their penalty box, did a couple of step overs and then got smothered out. The only thing I can remember Hayes doing was complaining to the ref. Kennedy was back to his performances for the last couple of years (guess it's easier to look good against Peterhead and Stirling Albion), gets the ball, look to take on the full back, doesn't fancy his chances, turns back and play a safe pass (except when he twice passed it straight out for a shy (auld guy's term). Thought we were lucky to only lose by 1 goal. Positives (scraping the barrel), Scales, McKenzie when he came on, Miovski's goal (like last week a real poacher's goal).

We've got a bit chance if we win the ball quickly just inside our own half and we lob Hart - he's really trying hard to prove to Pep that he could be a ball-playing keeper!

I've no idea of who would be the underdogs in this game but we were up 4-0 and 5-1 and drew 5-5...Alan Rough was in goal for us!

Actually pleased with that...daughter is about to start as a junior Dr. in Dumfries and a midweek visit from down south with B&B + train is far cheaper than a weekend one!

That's terrible news...saw him make his debut v. Dundee at Dens in the cup in '67 (I'm that old!). A real legend for the dons. RIP, brush
