May on - Tansey Off at HT
-
Seemed to make a tactical change after the horrendous opening 10 minutes which nullified them, which is fine, but means we're relying on a similar type of goal we got down there after THAT cup game As the home team, we should be letting them worry about us, rather than trying to cancel each other out, I accept that Motherwell are a different team this season under Robinson, said it on another thread weeks ago that they'll be a decent outfit this season, but we are now the established 2nd best in the SPFL, but we are not really showing this season ,despite only losing 1 league game ( up until now ) the performances haven't been good enough and we are still fucking about with players and formations. Hope McInnes puts a rocket up some arses in there at HT, including his own. If we lose today, and Hibs & Rangers win, we drop to 4th going into a very difficult period of fixtures.

Lewis the busier keeper then, Aberdeen all over the place apparently, good times
-
2-1 McLean penalty after Shinnie brought down in the box Incredibly, Kilmarnock equalise at Celtic Park Happy if it stays that way and we go onto win naturally, but even Killie find a way to score and contain them and are actually on top in the 2nd half if Allan Preston is to be believed.

McInnes to stay with the Dons
KennyFuckinPowers replied to OxfordDon's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Going to go against the general consensus on here by the look of things, but I actually think he will go, IF they actually approach him and comp is agreed. There are a few little reasons though in where I think he would stay, and they are the likes of Stevie May & Joe Lewis joining because of him, along with a couple of other players obviously. Also the stadium go ahead would have a huge pull as well. Add to that the Zombie bastard's well documented off field drama's. On the other hand though, if we are all being honest with ourselves, making us the 2nd best team in Scotland is about the most he can realistically do considering the finances available to him, and those finances won't change any time soon, and whether they actually have it or not, the Zombie's will use available money as a lure to him. He does have a slight affiliation with them, but never striked as me as the stereotypical buffoon that usually comes out of there ( John Brown, Terry Butcher etc... ) There's also facilities in place there that could prove a swing for him, much bigger wage budget, much bigger fan base and all that shite that goes with it. If it's going to happen, it'll happen this coming week. -
Just fucking win after the shambles midweek. Didn't contribute to that thread as I was fucking fuming. Considine out hopefully, Shinnie to Left Back and Tansey & McLean in the middle with Christie in the 10 role. Just want the 3 points.
-
Surely get at least an hour from him? McInnes said on RedTV that it was good timing to get him his operation as he's had plenty recovery and is back in full training. I feel like him & McLean could make a strong central pairing, allowing Shinnie back into LB or LWB, he was great vs St.Johnstone, getting up & down the wing and linking up play. Considine, as much as I love him and his constant improvement and determination to better himself, hasn't been missed if we are honest. He usually fairs pretty miserably against Celtic also, or any direct winger for that matter, not his fault as a natural Centre Half though. I think we'd be mad putting him back in.
-
Too much time on my hands it'd seem! I'd be very tempted to go with his, not too dissimilar to what we've been playing, only really Christie in the 10 role, but this makes us very compact, hard to break down, whilst still having enough of a threat to trouble them. ( No idea if the link will work, quite a useful wee tool if it has though ) https://www.buildlineup.com/shared/59ee4cb38dd5dd25d4d25ad3

Is this too soon? Actually quite pumped for this one, lot of talk that Tims haven't been any great shakes this season, and whilst we are level on points with them, the same could be said of us. No question it's the best 2 teams in the country though. To win this game and go 3 points ahead of them would be undeniably an outstanding achievement. And worst case scenario after the first round of fixtures is we would still be joint top should we lose the following week ( but one game at a time ) In terms of lineup, going to be a huge loss being unable to play Christie, but for me, I would just put McLean up there and put Tansey in where McLean would have been. Considine to remain out of the starting 11 too, we have been fairly solid and there is no real requirement to change it. GMS should be fairly confident given his performance against Hibs and maybe would like to show Tims what they are missing? Rooney & May can cause problems for their makeshift defence, I definitely believe we will score, just need to remain as solid at the back as we have been recently. And I am getting this out of the way, if that cock loving prick Rogers plays Hayes, when he's had fuck all of a sniff, and he scores, I will genuinely be fucking gutted. I have no doubt he'll be in their squad due to their fixture schedule, but that would be too hard to swallow. You're a Dandy Jonny, and I have a feeling you'll be one again in the not to distant future

Right, this may seem an odd question, but has anyone been to Bran Castle in Romania? If not, does anyone know much about Romania? My old man and step mum's anniversary in June 2018, and they are both huge Dracula fans, and they are pretty eager to go & visit the castle. Myself and my siblings would like to surprise them by booking it etc... but none of us have the slightest clue on how to go about it, flights & hotel etc... Where's the nearest airport, cheapest hotel and all that good stuff, any nudge in the right direction would be an absolutely massive help.

Fuck me my heart's thumping

Lewis, Logan, Arnason, McKenna, Shinnie, O'Connor, McLean, Mackay-Steven, Christie, Rooney, May Substitutes: Rogers, Reynolds, Stewart, Maynard, Wright, Ball, Ross Hope GMS can put in a performance and gain some confidence. Tough fixture but definitely winnable, 3-1 Dons, Rooney to score, along with Arnason & Christie

Hemmin, I quite like that song, and to be honest, maybe " Everybody's Changing " but that's it, not a Keane fan. Not even remotely, but certain songs you feel like you can relate too, and " A bad dream " is one of them. That's all min

Can only go with what I saw on TV. It was clear though in the first 20-25 minutes that McInnes had actually gotten it right this time & that the players were looking to make amends. We were getting stuck in, and not making mistakes or hiding from the ball. The only negative for me was again, we lacked cutting edge and possibly could have sacrificed a defensive player and brought on Wright or Stewart to help keep the ball in the final third. However, what has to be said, and yes, it was only one game, but Scott McKenna was genuinely solid. Dominated aerially and from early on made Moult aware that he was not for taking any shit, a couple of occasions he had little altercations with Moult and just threw him around. It worked very well having Arnason beside him, and have to agree with the manager when he said they were as good as each other. O'Connor and Shinnie grafted and helped screen the defence well. Overall, scrappy, far from entertaining, but a clean sheet, another 3 points on the board and it'll give the players a lift, a much needed lift. Glad to have been proved wrong today as I was expecting a similar performance to Thursday, but they all deserve credit.
-
Shinnie to Left Back, kept that Cadden quiet when he moved there. Arnason & O'Connor as the CB pairing. Drop Considine & Reynolds. Bit of a dilemma in the holding role now though, has to be Tansey and maybe Ball, who wasn't too bad vs Hearts. May up front but need to get more involved around him, he was also gash Thursday night, but had zero support. I predict a more spirited performance, but ultimately a defeat. 2-1 Motherwell.

Motherwell v Dons (league cup QF)
KennyFuckinPowers replied to RicoS321's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Here's a quote from Shinnie, which I would imagine most of us would agree with, and it certainly showed against Hearts and then again last night, didn't catch the Killie game so no comment on that, but for me, this is what we are lacking, obviously the formation and personnel changes don't help, but more noticeably, we are lacking fight. "The quality is always there but I think we need to fight a wee bit more, fight for each other, work as a team a wee bit more, then the quality shines through after that." -

Very similar to the Hearts game, scoreline and unfortunately goalkeeper aside this time, in that we have been completely bullied and failed to respond to it. Not a single player comes away from that performance with any sort of pass mark, the entire team were fucking atrocious. Hate to say it, but I was not looking forward to this game, nor Sunday's, nor the entirety of our fixtures next month, and tonight's bewildering atrocity, it was clear to see why. The manager shoulders 90 percent of the blame, but the players need to show they can respond to a bit of a scrap, and without being hysterical and in no way talking some shite about cycles, but the bottom line is, we are regressing, alarmingly so, and it's going to hit us hard this season. Obviously pray I am proved wrong and perhaps if the manager sticks to a formation and 11 like he has done for a few years now, I may well be proved wrong. -

Just an abject, abysmal and completely unacceptable performance. Outfought & out-thought. Fucking disgusting -

Also confused. Seven left footed players as well. McInnes usually likes balance so that's surprising. Seems a lot more defensive though, which might be sensible, I predict a tight affair, hopefully with us shading it. -
Motherwell, as I said previously in a different topic, have improved under this Robinson, and today fought back from 2-0 down to gain a credible draw with Hibs at Easter Road. I am genuinely concerned going into a double header with them, especially as one is a cup game. Of our wins this season so far, have we won any of them comfortably? Truthfully?
-
That's a piss poor result. Fucking atrocious actually. McInnes needs to pick an 11 and fucking stick with it, more baffling changes again.
-
Official line-up, yet again I have zero idea what formation we will play. Lewis Logan Shinnie Considine O'Connor McLean Stewart Maynard Arnason Wright May Completely perplexed, may be a good thing to be fair, but just feels like there's no real balance.
-
If everyone is fit, then I pray we go with this. Lewis Logan O'Connor Reynolds Shinnie Tansey Ball Wright Christie Mackay-Steven May If it's not working, we can do a fair bit to freshen or even change it entirely whilst making sensible subs. Kilmarnock will camp inside their own half and try and hit us on the break, we will struggle to break them down at ease, but 2 goals in the first half will change it completely and maybe they will open up a bit more. It's important we go for the jugular immediately against a team who are low on confidence. 3-1 Aberdeen ( May x 2 & Christie )

Farts v Dons @ Murrayfield
KennyFuckinPowers replied to Garlogie_Granite's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
I am agreeing Rico, I just perhaps went in to too much detail, making it look like I was defending him, I was not. We should have reverted to a familiar formation and replaced May with Stewart and kept Rooney poaching. -
Farts v Dons @ Murrayfield
KennyFuckinPowers replied to Garlogie_Granite's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Maynard was brought on purely to chase down their defenders while we were camped in our own half. He actually won the ball at one point, held it up against 3 of their players and literally had zero support, by the time 2 of our players got up to support him, he'd laid it off to Shinnie, who put in a decent cross, maybe too close to the keeper, but one Rooney would have been there or thereabouts for. We had 9 players in our own half and Maynard running around like a headless chicken whilst they played it between their back 4. I get that Hearts were always going to be a different opposition yesterday, but their own fans were unhappy with their starting 11, saying Levein was setting up not to lose rather than go for a win, and at the end of the day, it turned out to be the other way around. We are so much better than yesterday and we usually score a goal or two, but we never even looked like doing so. It's only one game, we need to take it out on a very poor Kilmarnock team next week to take confidence into the Motherwell double header.
