Indeed, certainly is. Interesting to note regarding Friday's game, for all the plaudits Hibernian have been getting, we're level on points with them going into this. Surely, for the love of fuck, we won't go into this one with the same setup and mindset as our 2 previous fixtures against them so far this season?

Chris Forrester - Finished?
KennyFuckinPowers replied to KennyFuckinPowers's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Left out again today, and Campbell was called on to the bench when Gleeson got injured in the warm up. I fear it is all but over for him, already. Never saw McInnes' pre match interviews though, was Forrester injured for this one or was he just left out of the squad altogether again? -
“ I spoke with Niall (about his reaction when he came off). He is disappointed with himself more than anything. " I missed this, anyone see it?
-
A very fair comment, Ferguson was very anonymous in the Semi, until he scored, then again today, he was absolute tripe, but comes up with the winner. At the moment though, he's the best of a much under performing midfield. McInnes appears to be getting praised for his honest assessment of the game today in the post match interviews, well I am sorry, he must take some Aberdeen fans as right fucking morons " If I am a scout in that first half for an opposing team, I wouldn't have a clue as to what we were " well Derek, time and again our CB's were happy to pass amongst themselves before aiming shockingly poor passes up into the channels, under no pressure whatsoever, that didn't change, and in fact, the very start of the 2nd half, we continued it, only this time to Stevie May. That was absolutely & clearly our game plan, which you worked on, so I am not having that pish, and feel very sorry for those that do buy it. I appreciate I am being overly critical considering we won, but I said after 3-4 games into the season that we may well be in for a really underwhelming season, with the Cups providing a much needed distraction, I don't see where I am wrong so far, 7th in the League, albeit with a game in hand, 18 points out of a possible 33 and we are still none the wiser as to what our best system is, let alone what our best fucking 11 is, how can we possibly go from where we were to where we are, we are eyebleedingly pish and at the moment, luck is getting us on, when that runs out and we don't have that quality to fall back on, we will struggle, and not just against the top quartet of teams.
-
Correct. Not sure what exactly he offered us when he came on? He controlled the ball a bit better than Wilson, but he is not the answer, nor will he ever be. 5 goals in around 40 appearances ( from the bench as well to be fair ) but 2 of those goals came in one game. What I will say though, is the reason he's not the answer is because he is on the receiving end of aimless balls into the channels. Much like Wilson & Cosgrove. We can't expect these players to get the goals that Rooney got if they are not getting the service, which at this current time, they are not. Hayes & McGinn were responsible for 90% of Rooney's goals, the others coming from the penalty spot, Cosgrove, May & Wilson don't get that service, nowhere near it. Perhaps if we stuck with 2 up front, then May could be useful, but as I have said countless times, until that happens, he should be nowhere near the team. He lacks confidence in front of goal, is fairly sluggish & offers nothing that any of our Strikers don't offer. Is Wilson the answer? A couple of real quality goals aside, no, he's not done anything to suggest he could be, although I am not too adverse to giving him more game time, guarantee you he'll have scored more than May will have had in the same amount of game time.

Obviously let us get it out of the way first & foremost, we will take that, of course we will. However, serious questions need to be asked about what the fuck that was meant to be in terms of a game plan? Aimless balls yet again into channels, failure to string 2-3 passes together, unless it was between McKenna & Devlin & around 3 shots in the entire match, on and off target. I appreciate all that matters is the 3 points, but we were brutal & that's the biggest steal I have ever witnessed. Again, our manager panders to shithousery in terms of being a negative cunt, low and behold, we throw subs on, start being positive and end up winning. I am getting extremely frustrated with his negativity and showing far too much respect to our opposition, we are, or have been, the 2nd best team in the fucking country, yet we are playing like bottom 6 pish, because we're being set up like that, this result only papers over alarming cracks. We require another Striker & creative midfielder, they are a minimum, and Graeme Shinnie needs to pull his finger out of his fucking arse, he is not showing Captain qualities and his performance today was very below par. As for the Shinnie and Ball debate, Shinnie is a LB, he's been a LB up until we shifted him into midfield, and he should be reverted back to that role, he can still be effective there. Ball, I am not so sure, but I am fairly certain he played CDM for the Huns when he was there, and he's played there mostly for us. Anyway, I am being far too negative considering we're in a Final & won this game, but this luck won't last forever, we need the quality back as well as the luck.
-
A first half showing that reflects our league position. A fair amount of these cunts need to take a good, hard look at themselves. That was even worse than the Hearts 1st Half. Zero imagination, not one player wants to take responsibility. and we have offered the square root of fucking zero in the final third. Shinnie needs to start acting like a fucking Captain. As much as the players are to blame, you can't help feel that this is how we've been set up from our manager.
-
I had a sneaky suspicion that would be the case, probably to combat the fact they have Power & Dicker in there, Ball is probably more solid than Ferguson in that respect. Don't think Boyd has played much football for them this season, so hope the wank is rusty and McKenna & Devlin give him a torrid time. COYR

Hopefully get to this one, car failed its MOT and needs a new Front Coil Spring replaced, but I am getting 16 hours work from my work just now, so with both kids birthdays upcoming, and Christmas of course, priorities are starting to take shape. Halfords quoted me £181 to replace it and pass the MOT, told them to fuck right off. Anyway, got me wondering, are there any Ayrshire based Aberdeen fans on here that go to games regularly? I can contribute fuel if you're coming out of your way dramatically, or not, will still contribute something. BigAl, I appreciate you're South, so wouldn't make sense for you to come North just to go East, that's assuming you'd be willing in any case As for the game itself, I have a bad feeling about it for some odd reason, we've shown signs of our old selves again recently, but Kilmarnock appear to be kicking on from their reasonably successful season last, under Clarke. The lad Brophy, who is definitely a handful, will replace Stewart, if Brophy isn't injured that is. As for us, why change it? Exact same 11 that started against Hamilton there, get some continuity going, but I think he might be more Conservative sadly, have a feeling we'll see Wright drop out for Ball, Ferguson going back to CAM role. 2-2 I feel, but I'd settle for a really pish 1-0 Dons win, eyebleedingly pish 1-0 Dons win.

Chris Forrester - Finished?

Indeed, that came from Andrew Shinie on RedTV, he said that everyone said he was one of the best players in training, but as Rico ( I think it was him ) rightly said, training and games are completely different of course, I can't see there being the same level of intensity in terms of pressing and tackles etc... Manc, I am still very hopeful that both players come good, sound like a broken record, but Gleeson especially, has the pedigree, just perhaps not showing it or perhaps young Ferguson has surpassed expectations, immediately limiting both Gleeson and Forrester's game time. -
Truly horrible problem. Have dealt, or tried to deal, with depression for several years. It comes and goes like you wouldn't believe, and has adverse affects at home in your personal life. I have 2 young kids, most days they are enough to keep me going, some days they're not. I actually struggle a lot parenting, I am far from a good father, I just try and make sure they understand that I love them, I genuinely regret bringing them into the world, I appreciate that may seem dramatic, but it's a genuine issue I struggle to cope with, I knew I was struggling when I had my first and in hindsight, I should have sought the help I needed first, but you try to be normal, get a job, provide and put everything behind you. Which worked for a little while, then it sets back in, only worse. I have had help from every source available, and personally, none of that has worked, I feel literally consumed with so much self loathing, self pity, sheer sadness and a horrible feeling sometimes that I just want to literally give up and shut down. I half arsed an attempt on my life not long after my Son was born 4 years ago, something that resulted in something I couldn't put my partner and kids through ever again, but that doesn't not stop the feelings I mentioned earlier there. You have to suck it up, take each day as it comes & make the most of the days where you feel that people can tolerate you, the other days, just recluse yourself & stay within your own head, that is how I have tackled it these past few years and to an extent, it has worked, although I only felt comfortable writing in this thread as I am currently not feeling great about myself, I am not overly shy in opening up about it, keeping it bottled up only made me take it out on those closest to me, which in turn isn't healthy for them, my Missus has slowly but surely started to be more understanding and she tries her best, but she doesn't have the capacity to fix things, sometimes she just makes them worse, but who am I to expect her to understand this complex situation better than professionals? I apologise for boring you, but this is how I cope & thought I should share, it's a horrible, horrible problem that I really wish there was an easy solution for, but there isn't. Take everything that everyone on here has said, on board, and see what works for you, when you find that, practice it as much as you possible can. Hope it works out for you both MBT & SeeBass, and of course anyone else on here who is looking in but doesn't feel comfortable sharing their experiences.

Aberdeen v Hamilton - Halloween fright night

I was more getting along the giving Shinnie or Ferguson a rest angle, given the games we have coming up and given the games we've played, don't think it would have done any harm giving Gleeson a run out for either one of those lads, with a very tricky tie away to Kilmarnock coming up. I would rather have seen that, than May coming on, Anderson straight swap with Wilson would have been fine. Only a minor quibble from a personal point, not a dig at the manager. Gets him minutes, Dom Ball doesn't need minutes as he's played plenty, or I'd have been championing him to get minutes under his belt. -

I am fairly certain that McInnes himself said they were aware of Forrester after we played a Pre Season friendly against St Pat's Athletic & that we had kept tabs on him. Someone said he had the potential to be the new Michael Carrick! One of his former coaches or manager, can't mind who. My point is, he's being left out of squads entirely now, but playing reserve football, he's either being given the opportunity to get up to speed with Scottish Football, or he's being taught a lesson & being told to shape up or fuck off. Bizarre considering we paid a fee for him, the scouting should have been as thorough as possible, you'd imagine. -
Lennon acts like a petulant child, he was goading the Hearts fans, he wasn't just telling them to calm down. Such a venomous atmosphere and he should be able to act like more of an adult. Not exactly an isolated incident with him, is it? Every single manager gets stick in Football, it's part and parcel, no different from a player being abused when he goes to collect a ball for a corner or throw in from the opposition set of fans. Of course I don't agree that he should be assaulted physically, but I will say that the majority of his incidents have been self inflicted, and now he'll be the media darling, looked like the Hearts GK was assaulted as well by the way, never got a good enough look at that one, but still looked like he got assaulted. The powers that be can't condemn the Lennon incident whilst ignore that one. EDIT -Can't believe that I am agreeing with Gary Caldwell, but even he agrees that Lennon brings it on himself, and I'd imagine they're friends off the pitch, nothing to base that on, just an assumption. "I think he brings a lot of it on himself. Whoever throws something from a stand should be ejected immediately but Neil Lennon was goading the fans as that goal got disallowed. As managers, coaches, players, we have to have a level of professionalism to not incite that and I think at times he does."

Aberdeen v Hamilton - Halloween fright night

Almost perfect night all in, Celtic winning the only negative! We have clawed back points on everyone above us, bar Celtic, so sets us up nicely for Sunday, where our hoodoo against them must continue. Can't comment on the match itself as only seen the 2nd half, which seemed to just be us dictating the ball with them threatening rarely on a counter. Devlin's goal was nice, but keeper should be saving it, take nothing away from Devlin though. Thought we might have seen Gleeson given game time for Ferguson or Shinnie after the 3rd went in, but only a minor quibble from me. 3 Points, clean sheet, 3 different scorers and points clawed back from those above us, all in all, a very good night. -

Left out of the squad yet again, for a 2nd or 3rd time in a row I think? I thought he was maybe injured, but he's played in the last 2 or 3 reserve fixtures, so clearly not injured, I am reluctant to say that he's finished already, as we paid a decent fee by our standards, for him. But there is clearly something amiss with him. I'll revert back to a post I made a few weeks back, people at one of our reserve games that he featured in, along with Gleeson, said that he looked utterly disinterested. Is it just a case of giving him more time to settle and adapt or is he just simply not good enough?, or is the manager putting a rocket up his arse?

Lewis Logan Devlin McKenna Shinnie Ball Ferguson McLennan McGinn GMS Cosgrove We have some big games coming up, away to Killie then home to Hibs, if any player is a slight doubt, we shouldn't risk them, with all due respect to Hamilton, we should still have enough about us to beat them. Let McGinn play off Cosgrove, McLennan & GMS providing width. Yesterdays achievement was superb, I really hope it kicks us on in the league now, we have winnable games coming up, although they're going to be difficult, more noticeably Killie away & Hibs at home, they're still winnable. -
Positive line up, my only gripe was Considine for Lowe, complete irrelevance now of course and seriously hope Considine is okay. Started the opening bluster well enough, we threatened more than they did, then all of a sudden, it was classic defending. They completely dictated the game, but as others have alluded too, they offered fuck all. We took our chance & actually had a positive period of play for a 15-20 minute spell in the 2nd half. We're in another final, with another opportunity to right many wrongs against these Tim bastards & I won't criticise the manager, I saw him between the 60th-70th minute mouth to " Let them play " to someone and it clearly worked. Get it up you McGregor, your wee dig at GMS in that 1st half sums you up, a complete and utter wank. Get it up you the great unwashed fans, get it up you Gerrard & get it right fucking up you Kris Boyd. Just really hope this kick starts our league consistency now. Our next run of games are winnable & the Killie & Hibs double header is vital. COYR

As wingers, couldn't agree more, Wright has had the odd good game out wide, but mainly faltered, possibly due to being mismanaged or possibly due to him just not being good enough, perhaps a loan would have been really beneficial for him. However, when he played the #10 role against St Mirren, he was unplayable, he was getting in behind several times and generally looked very lively, he seemed to really enjoy it, and 2nd half against Hearts there on Saturday was almost similar, only, his end product was rusty, but he's been missing for weeks, so that's to be expected. Agree fully with Rico, we absolutely need someone to run at them centrally, Goldson in particular couldn't cope with it against Mickel Miller of Hamilton, then the Spartak game there, in the 2nd half, he was all over the place whenever someone ran at him, their CB's, as ours will, will eat up long aimless balls all day long, but it's a whole different ball game when they're being pulled out of position to try and cope with a pacy #10, or running back towards their own goal against someone with speed and trickery. I think it might just work, especially if we play Wilson as the lone striker, he makes good, clever runs, they can complement each other in a positive way for us, something I don't think Gerrard will anticipate. You could even argue a case for McLennan out wide and put McGinn in the #10 role, he has a good drop of the shoulder and can pick out a pass, he's just not got that same pace that Wright has, Wright could be our new Pawlett if that makes sense. The big pitch will suit Wright. I just hope we remind the scouse wanker and his truly horrible fans that they are not a class above us, and I hope for sheer cuntishness, that if we do get into the final, McInnes gets a wee dig in about that comment, as subtly as he likes, I couldn't give a fuck.
-
Aye min, I sincerely hope you're well.

  That literally made me LOL, much obliged Rico

I removed that comment, perhaps I divulged too much information regarding his name and whereabouts, therefore the sensible thing to do was to remove it.
