Few injuries by the looks of things. Gordon out and Gunn not playing, hickey out, doak, mcginn, max Johnson, mctominnay has been injured, gilmour just back, shankland out, no doubt tierney will he injured, Barron has been out, Hanley been injured, Ferguson just back, plus no doubt we have players not playing regularly. Opportunity for some to make a clam, but we’ll also see how little depth we have.

Disagree with you there, for arguments sake let’s say he’s equal to aouchiche…he costs 1.5m. Cameron does not. I think Cameron is having a bigger impact than aouchiche. Had Cameron been with us since the summer I think we’d have seen as many or more goals/assists as aouchiche, difference is he’s joined us in an extreme situation. Totally different player to clarkson, I think he’s a better 10 than clarkson, clarkson is a deeper midfielder, Cameron is not. I don’t ultimately know where clarkson would excel, plenty of talent but seemed to lack something in every position he played. Huge factor for me is if Cameron had players capable around him. If Cameron had an effective left and right mid who would suck in defenders and create space, you’d get more from Cameron. He’s got good chemistry with nisbet, who I think is limited, what if he’d a legit and mobile 9 to combine with. I’m certain those three positions will be targets this summer. I think we’re expecting too much from Cameron in a shit team with no manager or confidence. Much like Geiger, get him a coach and a preseason, and a few decent signings around him, you’d have a good player I think. side comment here, and I’m not saying this is you jute, I was kind of called a racist for wanting more Scottish players yet people will shun/reject Cameron because he signed for rangers. To me he’s a very good young Scottish talent, probably the best Scottish player at the club, yet most don’t want him. Is that different to rejecting a black player, catholic, or foreigner? All based on hatred perhaps? Genuinely intrigued by responses, I grew up hating rangers as we probably all did, but don’t really hate the players. Don’t hate Barron, miovski, jack, don’t necessarily agree with how they handled things and more disappointed, maybe even hurt re miovski, was certainly disappointed Robertson signed for rangers back in the day, cooper too. I just don’t carry that dislike/grudge/hatred towards people for their decisions, career moves, opportunity to make more money and a better life etc. I didn’t hate mccrorie in recent years, was very good for us, and think Cameron would be a great permanent signing, as impactful as a mcginn potentially.

To be fair, this season both Motherwell and hearts have competed with the old firm on a fraction of a budget. The old firm will spend in the summer but it certainly doesn’t guarantee success. just look at us, we’ve demonstrated you can spunk good money on a bunch of players who wouldn’t make my Sunday league team. we need the luck, but bring in a good manager and a good few new players and maybe next season!

It’s frustrating because as bad as we’ve been, there have been times I think we have some good players. The livi game is a great example, we get some hope, then have been shit resultswise since. I also don’t think it matters what team we put out, we’re not good enough to squad rotate or rest players. We could get beaten by dunfermline, or lazetic scores a hat trick. It’s totally up in the air.

I think we have a reason to be optimistic, but it will be hard and nothing of late suggests we’re in for a good performance. We struggle to score, gift easy goals, but we’re due a good performance and win!

You have more confidence than me. Dunfermline will be a tough game, as would falkirk or rangers/celtic. St mirren have already won a cup this season. It’s wide open.

I think he’s been good from what I have seen. Obviously hasn’t scored but is the 10 we’ve needed for a long time, creative, wants on the ball, set pieces etc. But like Geiger, not match sharp/fit, coming into a shit team with zero confidence, a team with more turnover in January, plus he played ahead of two center mids who for the most part have been and are poor. If we can pick both him and Geiger up for a good price I’d add them both.

Maybe, I’m just trying to build on some players rather than a total overhaul. Plus he’s been thrown in at the deep end, unfit, lack of match practice, with a managerless team with no confidence. He’s played 100 plus games in a good league, I think there’s something there.

Bollocks. Perfect result for hearts. Although top 6 games will be very interesting, plus Motherwell will have a say. Hate to say it, but interesting end to the season at the top end for once, just wish we were playing these key games, not competing for 7th.

Where do we start? mitov is good keeper with a solid/good defense ahead of him. I think it will be hard on any keeper to excel with shite infront. I’d stick with the keepers we have for the sake of not overhauling so much. He’s not been great but worth keeping for now. right back is fine, lobban with devlin as back up. Left back frame and a signing, gyamfi just doesn’t look like an athlete or good enough. central defense, I’d sign McIntyre, keep Milne and kneuster, and a marquee £££ central defender needed bought. Molloy back up for LB and CB. weve got to spend in midfield. Need proper right and left wingers, topi is back up. Bilalovic too who could come good. Punt milanovic. center mid, much like central defense, need a legit signing. I’d keep Geiger, give him a preseason and I think he’s our cammy devlin. You have shinnie and Kjarten to give competition in there. Afeez too although yet to see anything to suggest he can play. Sign Cameron or a legit 10, and him, Armstrong, and Marshall compete for that position. up top I think we need a legit 9, plus nisbet to compete for the starting job. Lazetic too although he’s done little to suggest he’s a long term player for us. we have few players who we have to keep but I just don’t think a total overhaul helps us, again. We have to retain some to build around, it can’t be another 10 plus signings. Quality over quantity this summer which is very difficult. I also think we have a good few followers who have the ability to perform with new quality leaders around them. 6 signings essential/starting quality needed - central defender, right wing, left wing, center mid, 10, and 9. That’s a really hard ask, most likely impossible, but a much needed 6 to build around if we want to be a top 6 team.

Good grief, managerless derangement syndrome is certainly kicking in on this site! Not as bad as chat but going downhill fast! Back on task, anything more on horneland or a new manager? Any more on this new first team coach?? multiple factors in our shocking season, but a new guy coming in will now start in June, preseason will be the league cup, which is not a bad thing. We royally screwed up preseason last year, the early competitive games are a good thing, plus time to train without the added European games…..although I haven’t written off the Scottish cup. given it will be the league cup, prob move my comments to the summer 2026 transfer window as building a squad for next year is a huge project…..again! The new manager needs to working now with the recruitment team, I suppose horneland can certainly do that without being officially hired?

Surprised there’s not been more said about Ian Burchnall, anyone been able to connect the dots between him and horneland? Bizarre appointment if there’s no connection. Also curious on people’s thoughts on doc, here past this season?

That’s the only logic to me. There’s a ton of experienced coaches available, including Scot’s who know the league, people like don cowie, John Hughes, Steven Maclean, no clue if they’d take an interm role but they have experience and know Scottish football, and may want the exposure. It has to be the beginning of new coaching staff arriving. Obviously ties to Norway and chance to get to know the league, the players etc. and connect with horneland.

We’re all frustrated by the team, mistakes, the manager situation etc. another season getting away from us. The red cards adding up just highlights and adds to the frustration/desperation with us all. Started with so much expectation, a ex PSG player, karlsson, a highly rated Icelandic youngster, Australian player of the year etc., even an aging Armstrong. Don’t have great confidence in the cup game either. sad to write off a season but getting close to that. while Dave’s release today said little, it’s as much an acknowledgement that we’re all frustrated at present.

Yes, poor recruitment for a while. Hopefully the penguin helps in that area. Jimmy had offered to resign twice apparently, maybe there’s more to the timing of him leaving. At the same time, our priority was not on a manager succession plan, but adding the penguin and restructuring that side of things first.

Sorry man, disagree, good update. Good managers are hard to find and we need to get this right, which in itself requires luck and timing. Saying something but nothing in a way, but least it’s an update. All he can say, and better than silence, you. Can’t say more when things aren’t set. dont disagree too, starting with us midseason is bit of a shit show. Starting in the summer, build a squad, a preseason is the ideal for a coach. If it’s horneland for example, can work with us on recruitment prior to formally being hired, but has a voice in squad building. Realistically, we are not in a good spot right now and hard for a manager to start right now and go forwards immediately. Shit situation, but is what it is. .

I stated pregame and agree, sivert should have started over afeez. But sivert is very limited too and we need mobility in there. So while afeez lacks fitness, sivert lacks mobility and he’s caught out a lot. I don’t think that means someone else is picking the team, the team almost pics itself. devlin worries me a little, time we see lobban again?

But what are the options? You have a two new signings in center mid, the only other options are sivert and palaversa, no?? I don’t think that’s the penguin picking the team, that’s simply picking who you have available. Perhaps sivert should have started over afeez yesterday, but there’s not many options at present.

In what sense? You’ve got to look at the players he has at his disposal. I don’t see them playing that differently to the way the played under Thelin. We have little/no width and have played inverted all season, limited on options there. I also posted in my response to panda, he’s been given a huge challenge with so many factors in play, and he’s a limited coach/manager with very little leadership experience.

You have a point about 4 red in 5 games, both in playing with less than 11, and suspensions limiting selection, but also add the injuries to kneuster and Armstrong, and an off form keeper, all guys who have played significant minutes. plus losing aouchiche karlsson polvara and Clarkson, suddenly were quite limited in selection, especially in central midfield. Throw in the fact that afeez and Geiger are from another league/country who aren’t match fit and haven’t played in quite a while, and the disruption of the weather. He’s been given quite an assignment. in the past, leven has come in to a difficult situation, but this is significantly harder due to the above. I don’t think he’s good enough, but he’s certainly been given quite the challenge.

Based on what do you make that statement? I know very little but he sat on the bench as soon as Thelin left, and the other night was in the stands now that we have doc. Was he on the bench again today? Regardless, I don’t have an issue with that. But are you suggesting he’s picking the team, tactics etc?
