Lazetic looks totally off it so far. As sharp as nisbet appeared to be, he’s the opposite.
-
Bookings adding up, not so sure we finish with 11. could easily lose a second but could be 1-1. Not out this yet.
-
Strange subs, would have yanked Cameron and olusanya.
-
No clue why Jensen plays over devlin. I’d make that sub. Give us some legs on the right, other than the one run first half haven’t seen Jensen attack. Ever. intense a second unfortunately. They are missing chances. id pull Cameron for lazetic, nisbet deeper. Give the guy a run.
-
But disjointed right now, no fluidity to our play and scrappy defensively. Need a foot on the ball.
-
Should be 1-1!
-
Palaversa for afeez the only change which’s fair….maybe. Would have changed the right too, but for who??
-
I think we’ve been better in the air at the back, chance right at the end there from the free kick is more down to a bunch of players who haven’t played together and haven’t trained set pieces etc. prior to their goal we looked decent in attack, nisbet unlucky with hitting the post/the save. Cameron hasn’t done much though, do we see palaversa in there and Geiger moves further forward? Or two up top?? I think McIntyre is decent but with both central defenders booked and their forward, a little worrying.
-
Geiger is a solid pro. Def think we got right mid wrong, esp with the ability of their left back. Expect a change there. other than the 5 min wobble after the goal it hasn’t been bad. They’ve missed a couple of chances, but so have we. Still got to hold on until had. afeez has been a little underwhelming.
-
Agree with Willie, need a right mid who can defend. Goal has deflated us a bit, we weren’t bad until then. Cant lose a second before half time, bit ropey.
-
Unfortunate to be one down but defense not tight enough, understandably given it’s a very new back 4pluskeeper.
-
Geiger and McIntyre look decent, afeez starting to come into the game.
-
First impressions, look decent in central defense, little from afeez, Geiger likes to get on the ball. Promising?
-
Interesting to see if our central defenders win headers!
-
Interesting that palaversa is on the bench over Armstrong…
-
Rarely seen him play and you may well be right, but asking a guy to stay wide, kick it past a defender on the outside and run, isn’t complicated. Morris figured it out and he appeared to be a very low intellect player. I know I’m over simplifying, but at least it’s an option to explore.
-
I’m certainly good with olusanya at right mid. Morris was mediocre but teach him to knock it on the outside and run and he was effective. Very intrigued, no clue what to expect today!
-
Ha! Least of my worries is the number. Can they all play?? keeper central defenders and center mids are the key to any team. If our center mids are legit them I think we’re good, time will tell!
-
I suppose why not just say fuck it. Mitov has been poor, we had no right mid, center mids poor etc, just rip it up and start again. def an element of season starts here. Just a mini season to experiment until the new gaffer starts.
-
4-2-3-2?? looks like leven just said fuck it! Will be interesting!! not quite sure why Jensen over devlin even Robban though? Given the newness of so maybe, could have thought devlin would be the better option with his leadership and communication.
-
Win both. I predict a change in fortune, fuck knows why, just feel it. hornylad in the stand today??
-
Really curious who plays. Don’t see us changing the keeper since we have so many other concerns. Expect both new central defenders, although I do wonder if sivert plays at back just for familiarity. Do we even go back to a three with the two new boys and devlin? Don’t know if we see both new center mids, behind Cameron? Hope we have the balls to do it, two weeks of training that they know their team mates now, but it’s still a big jump. Still, may be one plus Armstrong. motherwell are having a good season, but we have to be totally up for this. I say draw or away win!
-
Really keen to see the new boys play. Never seen McIntyre play before, and never heard of our two center mids. McIntyre says himself he’s strong in the air, and the two in midfield should bring energy and some teeth. we potentially have two new central defenders and three new central midfielders, obviously Cameron has played for us already. The lack of games could hurt us, but we could be a breath of fresh air. No clue what to expect from us really. Will leven even play afeez and Geiger from the start? going for 1-1 or 2-2. Nisbet and Cameron.
-
Pretty pointless argument, quite intrigued at the moment to see how things play out. Keen too see McIntyre afeez and Geiger play. re the cup final, look at the way we had played from Nov onwards. We were stunning vs rangers at home in the first half, then pretty much piss thereafter. I blame mcgrath’s penalty miss for our season going bad! we defended well in the final, and had the occasional attacking play. I don’t agree with you saying we’d played much better last season. we rarely played well from Nov until end of season. Pretty brutal at times. But I do think Celtic won the league blowing teams away at times.
-
Absolutely there was luck in the way we started last season. We were not playing stunning football, blowing teams away. Credit to us, we ground out results, and fortune was on our side at times. There were certainly times opponents missed chances, and we took ours. Fortunate with the late nisbet goal at Ross county, hung on a little at Dundee in the second half, 3-2 v hearts they missed a bunch of chances etc. to finish 5th was prob about right because we were rank pretty much from the league cup semi until the end of the season. Our luck ran out and the breaks stopped going our way. We were unfortunate in the bad games at times too, but for the most part we were a shit watch for a number of games, and a shit watch for most of jimmy’s time here. in the cup, hearts were better in the semi and them going down to 10 was massive, then 9. Final, Celtic were off that day, don’t think that was down to us, hit the post the bar etc, and we were fortunate with our goal. We defended well, but we certainly didn’t outplay them. Tremendous penalties from us but i do feel luck was on our side that day.
