Euro Championships

So we are off and running.

Thought I'd create a thread where all matters relating to the tournament (apart from Scotland which has it's own thread) can go.

Almost half time in ?? v ?? game.

All Italy but still no break through.

Italians have looked really good so far. Will they make the break through or will the Turks hit them with the classic sucker punch ?

I never had much against Wales until those qualifiers a few years ago where they beat us twice and Bale dived to win a penalty.

  • I had a tenner on that result at 50-1. Funded my season ticket. Was bricking it for the last twenty. Had the tenner covered by a more sensible bet like, I wouldn't normally put that on at such large o

  • Too much hassle. Best just awarding the tournament to Italy.

Italy made 8 changes today and still looked a very very good side. Wales through to knockout phase for 2nd Euros in a row which is some going. Could have done with Swiss not getting that 3rd.

If we win by one goal then we need at least two of these as far as I can work out:

Group B

- Belgium win or Denmark win / Finland win and Russia draw

Group C

- Ukraine and Austria is not a draw

Group E

- Poland don't win or Poland win by 3+ goals

Group F

- France win / Portugal win by 3+ goals / Hungary win by one goal

Let's just beat them 2-0 and get the job done.

Croatia are nothing to fear except the odd brilliant strike.

If we play like we did against the sassanachs we'll do just fine.

I’m pretty confident Ukraine and Belgium win tomorrow leaving Finland and Austria on 3 points in 3rd place in their groups.
Groups E and F could really go any way, too tough to figure out.

But win by 2 and we’re good if you ask me. Tough ask I know.

Austria 1-0 up on Ukraine and Holland 1-0 up on North Macedonia

Could imagine that if Ukraine get an equaliser we'll see a very pedestrian draw played out.

Austria win.  That's one down one to go.  If Belgium beat finland it doesn't matter what happens in Russia v Denmark, the bets the third place team can finish on is 3 and we will defo be through if we beat the croats

Really thought the Macedonian goal didn’t look offside? Was a nice goal too. Cloggies run out 3-0 winners.

come on Belgium!

Denmark 1-0 up so as it stands all we would need is a win against Croatia to qualify.

We will be 1-0 up and Croatia will score in the last minute.

?

Ach well, another cracking night of Scotland stress ahead.Much vino pre game  ?

If we do go through in third then it's now guaranteed we'll play either the Netherlands or the winner of Spain's group (Sweden as it stands). If it's the Netherlands then the quarter final would be against Wales or Denmark.

Spain destroying Slovakia. 4-0 currently but Sweden winning 2-1 which if it stays that way means that Sweden win the group.

Finished 5-0 to Spain and 3-2 to Sweden so Sweden top the group and will play at Hampden in next round.

Half hour gone in tonight's games and as things currently stand the Germans are going out ?

Germany eventually drawing 2-2 with Hungary and France and Portugal drew 2-2. At one stage tonight Portugal occupied every position in the table. France win the group and Germany finish second meaning they will play England at Wembley in next round.

I think Denmark are worth a punt. That half of the draw is really weak, the Netherlands, England and Germany all flatter to deceive a bit and Denmark are a good side.

NL are very poor, just slightly less poor than previous years. Against a proper team and they’ll struggle. Does leave it completely wide open, as you say England and Germany are equally as poor.

Come on Germany.

Again ?

Dolberg with cracking strike to put Denmark 1-0 up against Wales. Been all Denmark so far.

2-0 and Wales getting a doing currently

Thought there was a foul in the build up for 2nd goal but Danes deserve to be at least 2 goals up.

Yeah it did look like a foul but as you say I think Wales are lucky to be only two down, could easily be three or four

Considering what is at stake I have been extremely disappointed in Wales tonight. An hour gone, has their keeper had a save to make ?
