Latest rumor I saw on another forum was that papers were reporting Lewis had cups of pish thrown at him. If that's true, that's fucking vile and they deserve a ban, even if we don't get another chance and their next opposition get a bye.

Well it is a Europeein competition.

I just wanna get one thing straight here though.

You are all saying buckets of pish which at worst...could wet joe lewis right?thats disgusting.

But a flare which can maim or blind someone for life is ok?

Are yeez all fucking nuts..

Dont you see that BOTH of these are impeding on a goalkeepers thoughts..performance as they are a direct physical threat?

To simply dismiss flares being thrown at or near a player as 'just fitbaw' or whatever is wrong.

Of course we wont get a replay but it is a massive form of cheating as puts players off their game due to dangers of physical harm.

Nobodys hysterical.

Football is a sport no matter who plays or who the fans are and players deserve to be protected.

I only said if a replay comes about (which it wont) then yeah..jump at the chance.

Imagine if a flare was thrown onto a Wimbledon final at Federer.

The whole sport would be shut down forever.

Im bein sarcastic of course but severe penalties must be enforced here or at least some sort of preventative measures for future games.

Flares seem to be a common part of continental football. Those fans are all a lot more fanatical that the gormless pricks that drag themselves to Pittodrie on a game day. Every game in Europe (domestic or otherwise) seems to involve countless fucking flares. Are these clubs fined every time? If they are then either the clubs are happy to pay the fines or the fines are just a token gesture. Didn't Celtic incur some sort of punishment when they set a flare off? Since then they've not really been seen in their support. Just wondering why most other clubs seemingly don't have a problem with them.

We should have got Dundee United disqualified for chucking a pie in the general vicinity of Jamie Langfield at Tynecastle back in the King Jimmy era. That affected him for the rest of his Aberdeen career and he certainly never performed well at Tannadice after that. I dare say Joe Lewis was unaffected by the flare.

€10,000 fine for the club.

Aberdeen have been fined €10,000 (£9100) by UEFA over crowd trouble in their Europa League qualifying match against Apollon Limassol.

Travelling supporters clashed with stewards and police following Aberdeen's 2-0 defeat at the AEK Arena in Larnaca at the start of August.

Both clubs were charged by the governing body in the aftermath.

UEFA's disciplinary panel met on Thursday to consider the case and levied a fine against Aberdeen for the behaviour of their fans.

The club has also received a warning for having no stewards travelling with their fans, which is a breach of the competition's security regulations .

Apollon Limassol had been charged with setting off fireworks, throwing missiles and the improper conduct of their team. They have been fined €27,500 (£25,000).

Cypriot riot police were forced to enter the stands during the match, using pepper spray and batons after fighting broke out.

The Pittodrie club launched their own investigation after two travelling supporters were left in hospital in Larnaca.

One fan had a fractured knee and another required stitches after supporters fought among themselves and with security staff and police.
