Can't remember if there was a specific film thread so here goes.

Anyone been/going to the cinema to see anything in particular?

I've been to see Inception and Toy Story 3 recently. Both were fantastic. Saw Toy Story in 3D but I'm not overly sure that it was necessary, but that doesn't detract from the fact that it was a great film. Fitting way to end the trilogy

Sadly this future started quite a while ago. I miss the days of watching things on set days, then chatting about them at work, and looking forward to 'next week'. What an old man thing to say.

  • No one watch films anymore 🤔 Ten months and no posts 😲 Watched "I Swear" last night. A true story of tourettes sufferer John Davidson from Galashiels. Starting with him going to seconda

The Twelfth Man

short film about football fans.

For all the visual scale on show in Interstellar I found it to be ultimately disappointing, bordering on nonsense.  First half was excellent though.

I went to stjames years ago, mate was studying down there and managed to get tickets for a eufa cup game against Ferencvarosi.  Watching that reminded me of just how little space is around the ground, it's slap bang in the centre of the city.  It must be a nightmare keeping home and away fans separate there, being match commander when sunderland come to town must be an utter head fuck

I thought it was a brilliant film, first half as you said was excellent, but didn't mind the second.  Some good comedy moments within it as well.

Summit’s attempt to mount a new version of 1986’s action fantasy Highlander has been through the development wringer, with multiple script drafts and several directors attached before dropping off. The studio is hoping to give the film a kick up the casting chain, eyeing Tom Cruise to take over the mentor role originally played by Sean Connery.

'Dumb and Dumber To' was better than expected.

Especially after seeing the title.

Watched Star Wars Episode 4, 5, 2, 3 and 6 yesterday in that order. Never seen them before. I saw Episode 1 back when it came out. Didn't think I'd like them at all because that sort of stuff isn't normally my cup of tea but I have to admit I quite enjoyed them.

in terms of 4,5 & 6 did you see the actual originals or the shite doctored ones Lucas jacked out to fund his pension about 20 years ago?

The Imitation Game is fantastic

Lone Survivor is great.

Although it heavily backs up the question; is it all worth it?

I believe they were "digitally remastered"  so I guess it was the latter?

If there was any dodgy CGI in the 1977, 1980 and 1983 ones then they were doctored.

Very much this

Yep, really enjoyed it.  Cumberbatch was very good.

Lone Survivor is great.

I thought It was a load of shite.  :dunno:

Crazy Stupid Love (I think it was called?)

Thought I'd been conned into watching a chick-flick but it was alright watching for a semi-reformed misogynist such as myself.  Worth a giggle.

Watched Dallas Buyers Club last night. Great film. Really good acting from Matthew Mcconaughey and Jared Leto. Well worth a watch.

Top film, and the two of them are superb.

Watched Nightcrawler followed by Dallas Buyers Club on sat night.  Both absolutely brilliant films!

Jake Gyllenhaal was superb in the Nightcrawler, really dark film.

saw the "hacked" version of fury.

my god what terrible acting from every one of those so called actors. the film itself was pointless.

I found that movie completely depressing. I know war movies are not the funniest of movies but by fuck that was hard going.

Phineas and Ferb Star Wars

BRILLIANT!

Dumb and Dumber To was better than I thought it would, with some decent laughs but certainly not a patch on the original.

The Theory of Everthing was very good.
