Robbo's Rollicking Rock n' Roll Roadshow gets underway with the first of a run of away games. The action begins on Saturday 12th September at Rugby Park as the Dons take on Kilmarnock in the quarter final of the League Cup. It's probably on telly because it kicks off at 1745.

Buoyed by a clean sheet and a shot on target against the same opposition today, the team will be bang up for it, and I fancy a 1-0 win after extra time for the away side. Olusanya to score.

Robinson looked pleased with Mouloua's penalty. His reaction was as funny as the audacity of the penalty.

We could have won that before penalties despite being down to 10 men.

Once again same nobs going on pitch which gives media chance to slag us off again. A lot them did not turn up for earlier cup games from what we could see from other stands

Fair play digging that out. Showed a lot of guts.

3 of the worst pens I’ve ever seen mind.

Can’t fault the effort & commitment at all, so Robinson’s clearly not lost the dressing room. Just got to hope its a springboard to build on.

That absolutely has to tell him a lot about some of that squad though.

Subs made a difference big time - Olusanya especially.

Don't care that we've been honking - since going down to 10 men (I missed the red while serving supper) we were pretty impressive. That's one of the best 10 men performances I can recall (honestly, says a lot about how terrible Killie are, but still...)

And then one of the funniest shoot outs of all time - what's not to like?

A lot still has to fall on Robinson, because much of the problem is with the combinations on the pitch, and what they're being asked to do. Nisbet was night and day when Olusanya came on. He's a really good footballer, and great at bringing other into play, but he can't do it when he has a player hard up his arse, and Olusanya being on the park gives him the space to move the ball quickly.

Similarly, in midfield, Aremu needs another midfielder alongside him that's going to cover a lot of ground and make tackles, which is really only Lyons. To not recognise that Aremu shouldn't play otherwise (unless because of injuries) is poor. I've given Briedl a hard time, but he was fine today playing in front of the defence, going side to side to help out the fullbacks (although I didn't know he was left footed until his pen!). Marshall showed strength on the ball, and the ability to drive at pace, which is something we've missed all season - he shouldn't be just getting minutes when others are struggling, get him involved, and get the right midfield shape alongside him to guide him through.

Finally, if we're going to revert to a back three, then lets play our own young lad that has come through our setup. If we can't guide Milne through a game and make him the aggressive player he should be, then we should pack up the youth setup altogether. I don't mind Happe in a four, but given time and space on the ball, he was poor, and we should manage without. I realise this last point is very controversial!

So that was actually almost fun in the end. Didn't see that coming, especially when the red got pulled. Huge credit has to be given to the team for keeping their heads and running themselves into the ground. Robinsons subs were all effective and by the time we got to extra time it was starting to feel like we were the only team trying to win it. The big question now is does this become a springboard for us? There was a lot of good performances tonight I have to say with Briedl, Mueller, Guinness-Walker and Marshall easily having their best games in red so far. Indeed Marshall should start over Ronan on Tuesday on the back of that performance. Was it a best ever for Olusanya too? Maybe, he was certainly incredibly effective and pretty much error free. Thought Molloy did really well when he came on too.

Agree with that list, especially GW despite missing his pen but put in a great shift. They all did. It's just a matter of consistency, like Aremu had a fantastic game couple weeks back but was horrific today. Do get the feeling there's talent there, just a matter of the team gelling. Like that first half, they looked like strangers, unsure of what anyone else was doing. I could not have predicted being this chuffed at halftime!

Exactly my thoughts...he's a penalty saver 'cos he saved 3 penalties on the trot. No doubt Rico will respond with a 250 word explanation of how he would have dived the right way.

My proposed protest against Robinson at the team bus has been postponed for just now. Suspect it won't be for too long as let's not allow this unexpected victory to disguise the fact Robinson's AFC are shite and this has merely papered over the cracks.

Just finished watching the game. Cannot believe mouloua’s penalty. Shows the confidence the lad has. If we are going to play a 3-5-2 would really like to see him given the start with kev. Also want to see Marshall play more.

We were poor but with 10 actually did better. Killie’s penalties were awful, but looks like we have a keeper who waits for a kick to be taken then reacts. Shit penalties but he still needed to save them.

Maybe the kick start our season needs.
