Robbo's Rollicking Rock n' Roll Roadshow gets underway with the first of a run of away games. The action begins on Saturday 12th September at Rugby Park as the Dons take on Kilmarnock in the quarter final of the League Cup. It's probably on telly because it kicks off at 1745.

Buoyed by a clean sheet and a shot on target against the same opposition today, the team will be bang up for it, and I fancy a 1-0 win after extra time for the away side. Olusanya to score.

Apparently the pitch invasion is going in the match delegate's report and there was fighting on the pitch, with supporters having to be kept away from the dugouts. If true, that's embarrassing - firstly the whole need to celebrate on the pitch shite in the first place, but the Old Firm have just been handed stadium closures ffs.

Didn't see the whole game. But it looked like going down to 10 made us think more about gifting the ball away too easily and quite a few stepped up their levels too. Disappointed though to see Nisbet and Olusanya both turning round to scream at Marshall after he (rightly) took a shot on. Olusanya especially shouldn't be criticising anyone's decision making.

Would like to avoid Hearts in the semi. Save them for the final, which will be Tobers' birthday. And Eoin Jess'. And my mate David's. So a good day to win a trophy.

I personally think playing in Nisbet would have been the best move but I had no beef with him shooting.

So things I think we learnt, or confirmed, yesterday:

Muller is a reasonable first choice keeper (not just based on the pens)

We desperately need pace at CH. We’re gonna get crucified in there otherwise. Someone who can make a pass wouldn’t hurt either.

Cadden is definitely no better than Devlin, just a bizarre signing

Obi 2 has the physical attributes to play full back / wing back, just needs to work a bit on the football side.

Armstrong, Aremu & Ronan doesn’t work. No legs in there. Don’t do that again.

Good cross for the goal, but Ronan just isn’t offering enough as the supposed creative spark. The McGrath decision looks worse by the week. Another poor personnel decision letting him walk.

Ntelo & Nisbet, doesn’t work. Has to be Moloua or Olusanya in beside Kev & I prefer the idea of Olusanya as an impact sub as he made a huge contribution doing that last night. So where does Ntelo fit in - Nisbet back up only really as he’s not a winger either.

No wingers & no width doesn’t work when you don’t have proper wing backs to offer that wide attacking threat (Obi 2 did ok, Cadden didn’t) so we really need wingers & width. Given the wingers we’ve got haven’t really delivered that yet its a bit of an issue.

So whole new squad, but a large number of significant issues remain that haven’t been adequately addressed by the new arrivals. Its a big squad though, so do some of the answers sit in house? Gotta hope so.

Robinson needs to work out his best most effective selection & formation PDQ, cause that last night absolutely wasn’t it.

I have the fear for the semi. Let’s be honest, all 3 of the other teams will be praying to get us in the draw as things stand currently…

Nah, the right call. Happe made no attempt to get the ball, just tried to hold back the player going through. A booking all day long. Obviously, if it had been a scum player, the ref would have run up to him with a serious look and made a gesture to say "one more foul" to make it clear to the bench that they should probably bring on one of their other multi million pound defenders immediately. I thought the ref was decent last night and got most things right, whilst letting the game flow when possible.

Definitely a second yellow all day long.

If he hadn't already been on a yellow you could probably have said it was a "good" foul and worth taking for the team.

Mayo caused the issue though by being turned far to easily by the Killie player

I may have missed the point that it was a second yellow rather than a straight red... ok then.

In Rico's defence here, Müller in his post-match interview said he never usually saves penalties 😆

His whole interview is brilliant. "If he missed the panenka I would have smashed him" and "I want to see the manager's reaction because he killed me after the rabona" particular highlights.

Didn’t expect to be awake for any of the match so was immediately gutted it was still going. But we were actually the better side so was a decent watch and then was surprised to see we were the side down a man. The pens were great, albeit I felt GW looked nervous as hell. Kudos for him for stepping up to be the first taker though, takes guts, not as much guts as the panenka mind. Now if we can string that level of performance for 90 mins of normal time, we might be alright.

Didn't see any "fans" heading to the dugouts. Instead i was focused on the three who made their way to goad the Killlie fans. Burrows and Cormack where are they? Not a peep from them condemning that behaviour. We will be in bother for that and the flares particularly the one that hit a steward.

My main worry is we still struggled to break down one of the worse defenses in the league and didn't start playing till after the red card. Happy with the win but will still need a lot more to convince me things are improving.
