Bring a whole to meaning to playing for the stiffs. Quote
OrlandoDon Posted 11 hours ago Report Posted 11 hours ago How quickly does red tv put up the full European game? I know we only get the audio coverage live, do they put up video right after the game? Quote

The away trip to Livi in the league this coming weekend is far more important in the grander scheme of things. No harm in resting him both mentally and physically. Quote

I'd leave it up to the player if possible. Depending on the type of guy he is, and the closeness of his relationship with his grandfather, then he might be even more determined to play. Obviously, don't know the first thing about his situation, but it could be that his grandfather was a big influence on his career, or whatever, and he might feel it fitting to go out and perform in his memory. It'd be a shame to take that decision from him unnecessarily. 1 Quote

Taking his personal situation out of the equation here I would still be resting him and numerous others tonight as this game is pretty meaningless and the trip to Livi on Sunday much more important Quote

wee toon red Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago I'm curious as to the school of thought that the Livi game is more important than this one. We're not winning the league (this season...) and we're clearly not getting relegated, so if beating Livi is to have any relevance it must surely be to get as high up the league table as possible, to... qualify for Europe? Just to "not prioritise" it anyway? Doesn't compute. Quote

Even if you think the chances of qualifying from the league phase isn't going to happen, based on last season's prize money then just winning tonight earns us £350,000. 1 Quote

I also think it would be a nice shot in the arm to defy the odds and not finish bottom of the CL table. After the poor start to the season it would be a nice two fingered salute to our external critics. That said a win against Noah and a point against Strasbourg would hopefully be enough to keep us in the mix for the Prague game. If we could go to the CR with something to play for I think that would be a solid enough achievement given the draw we got. Quote
OrlandoDon Posted 17 minutes ago Report Posted 17 minutes ago I also think that the likes of karlsson and lazetic came here knowing European games will get them exposure. Dont think karlsson is eager to save himself for livi away. Although could be wrong. Quote
