Cup Semi-final

Since the draw is tomorrow would it be worthwhile (*) Dave Cormack suggesting to the SFA that whoever is drawn out of the "hat" first and third are designated the "home" teams and get to choose the end they'd like their supporters to be allocated to and that the draw for the final (ie winners of match 1 v. winners of match 2) is made in a similar manner at the same time.

*obviously I know the answer.

I actually hate Hampden as a venue, it’s a fucking dump. I think the last time I was there was the 2012 Scottish Cup semi against Hibs - just one of the numerous games we failed to turn up in. Add to

  • Tbf, Aberdeen kicked up a hell of a fuss in 2000 when they were refused a 50-50 split for the final. At one point they threatened to boycott the final (would Gordon Bennett have been CEO at the time?

not sure I can take much more of the BBC "wow, just how amazing are Celtic and their Scottish Cup record" commentary.   Although, fair play, to have achieved all those trophies without some kind of enormous financial advantage over 95% of the other teams...

Get in. What a cross.

Yaaassss!  Sokler finds his inner Miovski.  2-2.

Look at that. Play two up top and we create chances.

Sokler had been brilliant. Wins headers and does the donkey work.

Just in fae work. Get in min....

Well worth the lack of sleep I’ll face in the morning. What a game.

Morris for Miovski.  Not really the words I was hoping to hear in this semi-final.

Shame, we look fucked. Honking marking from Hoilett though. I'd take pens now, probably won't win it in the remaining 15.

Should've just have fired Duncan up there with sokler.

We’ve been done here, that’s a penalty all day long.

Fucking yass

Blimey....Get in,again.MacDonald making amends

Jesus, some game. Deserve this one.

Phillips was never going to be the guy for pens. Nevermind.

On the law of averages, you’d think Roos would go the right way more than 1 out of 7. Cunt could have dragged himself out of the way before Duncan’s pen too.

Never fancied it with roos. Never seen him near a penalty.

Then he fucking lies in the goal putting our own man off.

Much better performance than expected. Shinnie not missed at all.

Yes it’s a loss but ton of credit, great battling, some baffling decisions that went against us. 5 wins to finish the season please!

the fact that we had 2 kids and a loaner taking penalties says a lot about our squad.

Aye, and we still had Morris to take too. Thought Gartenmann and McKenzie would have been ahead of Phillips. Phillips isn't really the ball kicking type.

Yeah, my dig is more at the character. McGrath and Macdonald set the tone, we’re a bit of a soft bunch. Huge credit for 3-3 but you need the experienced guys to step up at penalties, although other than gartenmann all we had left were kids.

And I am bitter. If it was rangers or Celtic the attacking team they get one or both of those penalties.

We weren't soft today, in general, and didn't lack character. There's a strong chance that Gartenmann just isn't great at pens, or maybe was struggling. McKenzie looked knackered too, so I suppose it's fair enough. Morris aside, I think we showed good bottle. Duncan showed a lot of bottle too, his was just unlucky really.

I think they'd done their homework on Roos too, he always seems to move and for all their pens they just waited.

Oh aye, without doubt. I wasn't convinced by the Scales one. The second was apparently a penalty, but the ref gave a foul for the challenge before Hoilett's apparently. I haven't seen it back since that was explained, and wasn't looking for it in real time, but I suspect it was a terrible decision.

Rico, agreed, tough to say they were soft today. But in general we dont have a lot of strong personalities so that needs fixed this summer.

didnt see the scales incident and the second one has questions, but both no doubt go in the old firms favor.

Thought it was all set up for Morris to score the winning penalty! 🤣

Great performance but it felt the officials were a bit too keen to see the Tims in the final! However if we’d been awarded a pen it may still have led to 3-3 but we’ll never know.

After a shaky start off the bench I thought Hoilett was great - the only positive to come out of Warnock’s jolly.
