  1. The accoustics are shite given it's a big tin hut, but does it actually need replaced?
  2. Deap Vally - Sistrionix If you like The Dead Weather or The Kills then you'll probably like that.
  3. Yeah, money is literally falling out of the sky in your line of business. For anyone interested this is probably your best bet at the moment - http://www.nationwide.co.uk/current_account/landingpages/FlexDirect.htm?cmpid=Aggregators_163
  4. Reminds me of Ebbe's 'follow the leader' corner kicks. http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/early-doors/crazy-formation-kick-off-leads-seven-second-goal-140323937.html?vp=1 Although we never scored from it.
  5. What's everyone doing with their rainy-day savings these days given the best bang for your buck at the banks is hovering around a paltry 1.8%? Pensions are a waste of time as far as I'm concerned. Property is a the way to go but with the banks flapping they're looking for a 25% deposit for buy-to-lets, meaning you'll need around 30k for a one bed flat once you raise enough for the deposit, legal fees and sundries. Until then you could have 20k-odd festering in an account. The return for a cash ISA maxed out for a year would barely cover a night on the piss. You could throw it all into your own mortgage but where's the fun in that? Anyone done any peer-to-peer loaning with someone like Zopa? I used to enjoy stoozing but that's fucked now too. Stocks and shares I don't have the time nor attention span for. Does anyone ever really make much on this other than the people investing other people's money? Would be interested to hear if you have. Coke, strippers, Taylormade clubs, Nigerian bankers and a day at the racetrack all seem like decent investments at the moment. Meh.
  6. I went and tried out some clubs at the weekend and I was quite amazed at how much the technology has came along in the past decade. I see 'rescue' woods seem to have replaced low irons, sandwedges are now called out by 'angles and bounce' and some of the drivers I used were adjustable with a wee allen key. Oh, and the clobber has went decidedly Poulter. Makes me wonder if they are all gimmicks or if they are in fact improving people's handicaps? I spent an hour or so on a Taylormade golf simulator (who are now owned by Adidas?) narrowing down the exact set-up I should buy, which needless to say came out around 250 quid over budget. Going to head to the Ping and Titleist shops which have similar set ups and have a crack before I pick a set and realise I'm not hitting nearly as far and as true as I was in the shop.
  7. Where's everyone streaming their football from now? A few of the 'free' sites want you to download dodgy programmes to view it or sign up for shit. Can't seem to get anything on my ipad either.
  8. I still don't get why the transfer window closes after the season has started? Who benefits from that other than the rich clubs? Teams set out their stall for the upcoming season and then as they're off and running their best players are yanked out of the club and whisked off. Makes no sense to me.
  9. His diving antics are custom tailored for that arena.
  10. Still bigger than the JMG one all those years back.
  11. Correct me if I'm wrong, but.... my chopper would hit the ground like a fucking dart if Mrs CTS climbed aboard.
  12. Funnily enough after a 10 year break from golf, I had my first lesson yesterday. Having grown up playing golf I got frustrated that my handicap barely shifted whilst my mates were shaving one or two off their handicaps each year. I was no longer enjoying it, so I binned it, promising myself that I'd walk away long enough to forget any bad habits and start again with a clean slate. Job done I reckon, had a great session last night, feels like I'm a beginner, albeit one that doesn't sclaff (that's the technical term ain't it?) the ball or look uncomfortable when swinging the club for the first time. I've been checking out clubs as I gave/threw my old ones away in disgust a decade ago. Chances are if I still had them they'd probably be like me turning up to play tennis with a wooden racquet such is the advance of technology. Graphite shafts were only just making an entrance when I walked away, now I see you can get coloured shafts with flames or tribal art licking up the sides. Groovy. Anyway, the instructor recommended I go with steel shafts, regular flex and forged heads for irons. Anyone want to recommend a brand or have a better suggestion?
  13. Ach, Burgess hasn't written anything decent since moving to LA so I doubt I'm missing much.
  14. You can forget a world war between all the superpowers in this day and age. There's far too much to be gained by arming other nations to knock the shit out of each other, whilst they supposedly sit on the fence and watch the mayhem.
  15. Got a link for that BB?
  16. Aye, losing two key members of the band over a 25 year period whilst selling a gazillion albums, dvds, gig tickets and singles must smart a bit.
  17. Sad news indeed. Didn't know about the DVD, will have to look into that.
  18. Spread the wealth around and everyone prospers. Who would have thought it?
  19. Just doesn't get it. Not surprising though, they've always bought their way to success with money they don't have, so they've no idea how else to do it.
  20. Laugh it up, but at least they're getting european matches.
  21. Groups of Hearts and Huns 'faces' drinking happily together. Cute.
