Pretty sure that article or something similar has been in the EE for Anderson, McNaughton and a few others over last few seasons who all went on to leave. In fact sure Barry Nic said something idenitcal just before he rejected his first contract.
Just a player covering his bases.

I don't think the fight or passion will be a problem. These two games are most probably if not the biggest games this set of players will ever play. They will want to do their best ( I know they should be doing this week in week out ). I'm just not going to the game with any expectations. I'll leave that for Hibs next Sunday.
You would have thought fight and passion would not be a problem in any game but after yesterdays gutless surrender I am not so sure.
Cannot get excited about a game that we are going to loose.

He's had his chances. Numerous chances
When has he been given a run in the team? Miller for example has now played 9 without scoring yet Jimmy still picks him Lovell does not score in one match he is dropped the next.
Would like to see Lovell being given a run in the team with a settled strike partner to see if they can maybe build a partnership.

Their keeper was almost in behind our goal giving the forearm-placed-in-the-inside-elbow-and bending-said-arm-upwards gesture (you know the one...right )
Someone did go over the wall but was held back by another fan.
The atmosphere was ugly at that point and the police were a disgrace. Not once did a cop or a steward enter the United end when they were bombarding Langfield (and I MEAN bombarding) with missiles. While as soon as our fans started they were all over it.
I am really disappointed with our fans. We could have taken a moral stance and they blew that.
No doubt the missiles were a turning point as Langfield was obviously rattled by it. Although we had been shit up to that point.
Do not think missiles thrown effected Langfield that much as he had flapped at a few crosses in the first half long before that started. He just had the sort of game that earned him his nickname of Clangers.
As for missile throwing it was unacceptable no matter which set of fans started it. Club will get fined for this and that is something we can ill afford and will probably be used as an excuse by board for slashing transfer budget in the summer.

Struggling to remember Miller actually having a shot on target in last 4 matches which is simply not good enough for someone who is being paid a large sum of money to be our main striker. Sadly Miller is one of JCs untouchables so he will continue to play despite his lack of goals.

Last night for me showed that a team full of players who give 100% effort (Young, Foster, Mackie etc) but have very little ability will never win anything. United last night had guys who could trap and pass a ball while we had a team of players who could run fast. When it comes to winning things you need the players who can create that chance that will win you the game. Smith is only player at Dons who can do that currently but he is never fit.
Not sure where we go from here.

I took the let him see out his contract option as we simply cannot afford to sack the useless cunt and his hangers on.
Manager was out thought and players out fought last night.

Well another rumour (and given his recent record of paying over the odds for players) is that Sturrock has offered Motherwell £150k for Jim Paterson. While Paterson may be a reliable enough player for Motherwell, he isn't better than Hammell...
Was Paterson not at United when Sturrock was manager?

7000 give or take a couple of hundred.
Glad there is no public transport there and back as despite the turgid shite I watched on Saturday I can feel the urge to go building. I am a sad adict

Surely these Russian internet brides are pretty flexiable about when you meet them?
In all the time I have known you have never stayed for 90 mins. Only have to get the Russian bird just to wait until half 8 when you leave ground anyway.

League: 3rd - by at least 10 points
CIS Cup: Winners
Scottish Cup: Winners
UEFA Cup: Last 16 (going out in the last minute of injury time in the second half of extra time of the 2nd leg - on away goals)
Uefa cup bits only so you can actually be fit to make another game in europe.

Aye but it seems to work for Dundee Utd.
Aye but they have a decent midfield where as we have Derek Young.
-
I totally agree that, in this case, Jimmy should be dealing with this behind closed doors and not in the press.
However, is anyone else not slightly f*cked off with Lovell? How many chances does he need...
I would be if he not had won a penalty (that was missed by one of JCs favourites) put through a decent pass for the same player to miss a decent chance and also forced the United keeper into a decent save in the first all whilst having to work off no service what so ever from a midfield and defence that were clearly instructed to punt the ball at his head whilst playing against to massive centre halfs. Lovell was one of the few who would have got pass marks yesterday but as I have said elsewhere JC has to blame Lovell as it either that or take the blame himself for making the wrong tactical choices which is something he will never do.

Why were you even reading that nazi rag?
Think you will find the retard is a leftish leaning paper. It is the sun that leans slightly to the right of Mien Kampf as reading material goes.
Both however are sensationalist rags.

Still struggling to see what everyone means by Young has done okay. If they mean he has charged about alot and given 100% in most matches then I suppose that is fair enough. However I still cannot see what positive contiubtion he has brought to the team and how he has improved us as a team. Guy has no ability whats so ever and has struggled against any team who pass the ball with Falkirk in the league being a prime example. He never touched the ball.
As for Duff I cannot remember him once impressing me when we have played United so not a good start but will see how he does in a red shirt before making any judgements.
-
So what does 200k get us these days? Ian Murray? Burton O'Brien? Stevie Hammell? Would the huns sell Alan Gow if we pressed them since they got him on a freebie?
A United reject and some Dutch dude who cannot get a game for a rank Dutch side on loan according to the papers.
-
Getting rid of Lovell would be a mistake. If he gets a decent run of games and we get a midfielder to supply him and Miller with decent service still think that we could have a decent front pairing who will get us the goals we need to get into Europe again this season.
Cannot believe players with injury history like Byrnne and Tounzani have been offered deals and Lovell is not.
-
Still a bittie pricey for my liking
Aye suppose it is when you only stay for the 1st half.
Good news on price reduction now just got to convince somebody to drive up.
-
Duff should be a non starter as if he is not good enough for Arabs then not good enough for us.
-
Nothing in the article says he is saying just that offer is better. Will only believe he is staying when they have a picture of him with the signed contract.
-
You talking about Clark here?
Did mean to say that obviously did not include Clark as never seen him go for a 50/50 ball in his entire carrer at Aberdeen.
-
Some nice suggestions but only ones we can get are those who will not command a fee as we are skint and according to the players leaving offering pish wages. Might Black or Russel Duncan from Caley as both are out of contract and Caley pay even less than we do.

Was thinking that myself. Only 3 hours on the train from here. Going to apply over the weekend.
