  1. Think the main reason behind them not appealing is currently ban will only cover two EPL games against Stoke and Bolton while the rest of the games will be FA and League cup. If they appealed could well mean him missing games against the bigger sides if they failed.

  2. Don't get me wrong, I always take everything on that site with a fist full of salt and I guess wasn't really related to the topic intended. I find it ridiculous that it's even a story or one that the club would want being put to press ???

I was impressed with Taoill (sp) when he was at Killie last season, seemed to have that attacking flair we required. But he hasn't really done much at Hearts for one reason or another.

We also really need to sign the likes of Arnason / Milsom / Osbourne up on longer term deals.

Edit: McMaster just said exactly that.

Will be stunned if we keep even one of them. Expect all three to be gone by the summer.

Would love to see us take at least one full back (not David McNamee) a winger and creative central mid. Would like to see Mackie Magennis and McArdle shipped out. However as been suggested I fully expect them to string us along all January with stories about the return of Russell Anderson before eventually signing nobody.

  3. Hayes goal against HIVs last night was quite special. Must have gone past 6 players before finishing it well. I know Tlg mentioned he is a fan, but is this someone we should be looking at?

Do not be rediculous why would we want a wide player who creates chances and scores goals. Much better getting in another central defender.

Joking aside would expect Hayes to move south when his contract with expires with Caley. Would love to see him at Aberdeen but suspect we have missed the chance of getting him.

  4. Cheers for the match review. It did sound like we tried to play despite the conditions, just wish we'd managed to knick it in the final few minutes.

It really does concern me that we have very few wide players (Pawlett aside) and it doesn't look like this is going to change anytime soon :-\ You just know we'll end up with another striker and central midfielder.

Your forgetting the injured central defender we are already chasing.

  5. Will be very surprised if Arnason stays. His contract should have been extended long before now but yet again despite Brown saying he would not let things drag we find ourselves in the situation of our players being able to speak to other in clubs in only 6 days and the Dons not having made them any offers.

  6. Quite surprised at the stats on the BBC website as it felt like we were marginally the better team without, as usual, creating enough chances. Looked like a lack of concentration that cost us any points.  Not a great game and a very disappointing result. Good work by Milsom for our goal.

With Caley looking pretty poor at the back, we really need to be creating more chances in a game like that. We definitely missed Pawlett.

Did not create that many chances when he was on the field last week either.

  7. Totally agree manc at the end of the day we won the game because of it and this is way more important.  His red card will be rescinded surely and he will be out for two games.  I dont like it but i think the sfa were right to nail pawlett for this and have shown consistency by doing it which is to their credit. One thing no one has mentioned is that if the sfa maintain this standard players will stop chucking themselves down in the box so much which is no bad thing.  It does my head in when a player goes down unconvincingly when if they had fought for the ball they would have been in for an assist or goal scoring opportunity.

I did. see bit in bold.

As I said previously SFA set a precident when they said contact on Aluko was minimal and not enough to justify Aluko going down. Pawlet was similar situation. He did make the contact look a lot worse than it was and therefore is guilty of simulation. I just hope we see this applied to all the other teams in the league and we see an end to players throwing themselves to the ground at the slightest touch. Not holding my breath.

  8. Surely a no-win, no-fee type deal on these things would make sense?

Or it's just another way for the OF to buy their way to the top.

    :hammer:

Fees were brought in to prevent clubs appealing decisions even when they knew they had no chance of winning just to delay suspensions. You get the money back if the appeal is successful I believe.

  9. All sounds pretty good in theory but putting it in place will be the fun part. Can see good few major hurdles to over come. Cannot see SPL clubs giving up any income or power to other clubs. Also suspect convincing some of the junior clubs and EOSL clubs to go to the cost of applying for the pro licence to join the new super leagues might not be as easy as SFA seem to think.
