Five year deals are becoming more common amongst the big clubs so that they can amortise the transfer fees over a longer period and reduce their financial fair play liabilities. If it didn't start with Chelsea they were certainly the first ones to make it prominent. It was inevitable that it would "catch on" up here eventually, either for the same reason or just because it's the fashion.

You've got to assume a left back would be one of those, especially given it isn't actually clear if Gyamfi is an out and out full back. Hate to say it but we look like a team that needs more games. Maybe the plan is to start light and be fresh late into the season rather than running out of steam by Christmas. We’ve definitely got the makings of a good side once we get a striker and the right midfield partnership so let’s hope it comes together sooner rather than later.

No Knoester is bad news. We might also struggle to keep the ball when we do have it with shinnie and nilsen in the middle but we’re probably not planning on having it all that much anyway!
