He’s a grown man trying to earn as much money as he can, he won’t care about abuse. He is a good player who was one of the best we’ve had in a while but I never bought into the love fest over him. That kind of affection should only be shown to long-serving players or guys who actually help the team achieve something noteworthy.

As far as I can see, there are four currently selected men’s Scotland squads: full side, 21s, 19s and 17s. Cooper Masson and Fletcher Boyd in the 19s are our only representatives. That’s a grim state of affairs.

I think that if Polvara especially was going to be needed this would’ve been the day to get him minutes rather than bringing on Shinnie or even clarkson.

Might be jumping to conclusions but neither Polvara or sokler getting on today would suggest they don’t have much of a future with us.

Five year deals are becoming more common amongst the big clubs so that they can amortise the transfer fees over a longer period and reduce their financial fair play liabilities. If it didn't start with Chelsea they were certainly the first ones to make it prominent. It was inevitable that it would "catch on" up here eventually, either for the same reason or just because it's the fashion.

Setting aside the coefficient argument etc, there’s a certain schadenfreude to the Arabs making an arse of it tonight after their premature celebrations after the last league game of the season. Get it right up then.

Mitov/Surman Jensen/Devlin Knoester/Milne Dorrington/Tobers Gyamfi/Molloy Shinnie/Palaversa Nilsen/Kjartansson Milanovic/Morris Aouchiche/Polvara Keskinnen/Bilalovic Lazetic/Yengi Which still leaves Sokler, Boyd, Rubizec, Duncan and Ambrose. That's assuming Lazetic and Bilalovic go through of course. So a big squad as it is, and apparently we'd still be looking for two more. You've got to assume a left back would be one of those, especially given it isn't actually clear if Gyamfi is an out and out full back. I'm struggling to see where the other one would fit, unless it's another defensive centre mid? A weird situation where we've actually got too many players yet simultaneously not enough.

Hate to say it but we look like a team that needs more games. Maybe the plan is to start light and be fresh late into the season rather than running out of steam by Christmas. We’ve definitely got the makings of a good side once we get a striker and the right midfield partnership so let’s hope it comes together sooner rather than later.

We’ve been ok so far, albeit yengi is really struggling. They’re not running through us or round us at will like they were doing last season.
