  1. Folk think that the SPFL prem is a crazy league in terms of fixtures and how it's run etc...A-league, are currently going through an "expansion" transition, where they're increasing the league from 10-12. Instead of waiting until both teams were ready, they've opted to have 11 teams this season...means each team get's 3 byes this season. Clubs are also breaking away from the FFA, who much like the SFA, are a corrupt bunch of arseholes. Fortunately, it seems to be going ahead, so hopefully we'll start to see more active fan engagement again. That's not even mentioning the TV deal...ours is glorious compared to the one FOX have for the A-league. They only allow 26 games a season, dictate when it starts (avoiding other aussie sports), and insist on every game being shown on tv, which dictates that there are only set TV times. Anyway, i've thrown myself behind the local side, Wellington Phoenix. Been shit for a long while but last season got a manager who changed everything and then became a judas. New coach has come from the winning team. Most notable Dons link? Eugene Dadi
  2. Didn't his dad fuck the deal up by asking too much and we withdrew our offer? Sure I read that here somewhere. Regardless, I was gutted because I thought he'd come along a lot since he'd left us. Left back is only an issue if Leigh is an issue. Right now, not a priority imo. The others are more pressing. I'm happy enough with Cosgrove. folk saying he's playing shit this season, he played shit last season and got goals. I don't care if they're penalties, he's scoring them. However, Anderson isn't good enough (yet), i'd like to see him go on loan to a prem club and get someone in that can score goals. Even if it's just on loan until Christmas.
  3. Agreed, there is no way we can rely on Devlin and can't understand why are folk even bothering with Hoban?? Nice guys, great on their day, but that day is very few and far between. Can't keep signing crocks. Have we ever turned one around? After Thursday, I think we need 4 positions filled (3, depending on Leigh but it's not looking promising). Striker, creative mid, CB and LB. Still a helluva lot of work to do. Hoping Hedges is kept in midfield as we can't afford to have him at the back. If McGinn is off the boil, we've no creativity on the wing whatsoever.
  4. Strikers: Cosgrove 8 Midfield: Ferguson 1 Mcginn 1 Wright 1 Hedges 1 Defence: Leigh 1
  5. Happy with a score draw. Didn't think we looked like scoring so will gladly take that penalty, despite how weak it was. Good finish from Cosgrove. We need to fix the left back situation. If Leigh is fucked, act now. I'm ok with consi playing at CB, it's a position he enjoys and I don't want him to be made a scapegoat for LB. He deserves more than that. Hopefully this team don't travel well and we get a result at Pittodrie. At least it'll be busier than that ground was!
  6. Harsh pen but good to see Cosgrove put it away. We definitely look shit at the back, midfield doesn't seem to exist when we're being pressed. Playing a bit better post goal
  7. FFS, that back four is enough to make anyone be nervous. Will see if I wake up in time for this one, although unlikely given it starts at 4:45...might be lucky with the second half.
  8. I disagree Tom, it's accepting that the huns are bottom feeders as the vast majority of away fans are fine. I don't think a banner is going to solve their behaviour. It'll make it harder to throw, but not impossible. You'd need a much larger margin than I'm guessing they'll have. By the way, I'm not saying our away fans are much better, but we're talking about Pittodrie.
  9. Shite move. As Panda says, I would be far happier either netting or an extension of the fence. Whilst it's funny in principle, it's not going to do us any favours when we're trying to get increased allocation elsewhere, especially since we're not filling it ourselves. Maybe it's great foresight
  10. I guess I see Anderson going out on loan again, but could be wrong. Ideally at a prem club. But agree re: midfielder and Ferguson. He looked knackered last season
  11. That's awesome news, MBT! You looking forward to getting back to work?
  12. So are we expecting any further movement or do we think that this is us? I'd hope we got another striker in, but can't see DM doing it. Really do wonder where the goals are going to come from again.
  13. How's the progress MBT?
  14. Read about that earlier, should well and truly provide a few months of hilarity at their expense. Jabba furiously issued a statement too
  15. Who'd've thought that this day would come. Utter madness.
  16. I see the Georgians have made the tie free entry, given they're miles away from their home. Trying to whip up neutral support. Not bad for those travelling! This team are a complete unknown unity to me. I'd be happy with a hard fought 1-0 victory. Hopefully the defensive lapses have been ironed out.
  17. What a fucking waste of money. Was never the striker I wanted, certainly not that summer, but I really hoped he'd prove me wrong.
  18. That's a pretty horrific list. I'm not even sure Partizan would be a good draw for us. Surely Vitoria would be better?
  19. I thought wizz air flew there from London these days? Or is that to the resort out on the coast only? Time difference was brutal for this one but by the sounds of it, its just as well. We're through, happy enough with that. Although concerns re Cosgrove, that's two games in a row where he's missed clearcut sitters.
  20. Strikers: Cosgrove 2 Midfield: Ferguson 1 Mcginn 1
  21. Excellent
  22. Was talking to a Cork supplier the other day, and he's said that you're going to start seeing a change in the quality of plastic pitches. He said NL have banned the rubber artificial pitches (haven't checked this yet) and moved to Cork which provides better impact resistance for players. I doubt this has it yet, but be interesting to see if uk follows suit.
  23. Just a reminder that this game is at 5PM UK time
  24. I'd probably agree with this, well, probably before the window shuts anyway, so we've got a few more games to assess him. He's certainly impressed, good to see someone with some drive. Just need him to find his shooting boots, but at least he was in the right positions to take shots last week.
  25. Ha, was texting my killie mate around the time and he'd come up in conversation! Proof reading So back to the topic of my original question Has Bryson been confirmed as fit for this one?
