eh?!?!? Surely this is suicide?

Beat me to it Al, I think you'll be right about O'Connor which is annoying but we have zero bite in midfield: On the back of their successful qualification for the group stages, I expect them to be absolutely pumped for it, especially since it's at home. Hopefully they'll suffer their usual Euro hangover but I somehow doubt it. Really not sure how we'll line up although possibly something like this: Lewis Logan - Taylor - Reynolds - Considine McGinn - McLean - O'Connor - Shinnie - (peepaw if not out) Burns (if peepaw isn't out) Rooney Really hope we're not on the end of a pumping. Our experience coming off the bench in midfield is woefully weak. Who knows though, maybe they'll surprise the cunts like we did 12 years ago when Budgie and Pasquinelli scored In/out: Out Pre match: flat match: lunch post match: recovery Porediction: 3-0 tims, no dons scorer.

Was thinking about this the other day, was this before or after the Aucho saga? I really hope he has something up his sleeve. Child neglector (allegedly) is not the answer.
-
I read on twitter somewhere he'd turned down £10k a week at the tims which I find hard to believe. I'd have serious reservations about him coming back. He burnt a lot of bridges when and since he left.

Don't think you're sounding like a broken record at all. As I said in the thread earlier this has been obvious from many a season now and for it not to have been addressed when we've essentially had the whole previous 2 transfer windows to sort out is criminal. Our midfield is powder puff. He said he wanted to increase the squad depth, we've neither done that nor increased the quality of it (in midfield).

That bit is very true, but that was the exception to the previous performances. I don't mind consi at left back, but we've got one of the best left backs in the country and personally I think it's a travesty he isn't playing there. Out of curiosity though, where did he play for Caley against the dhims? I had read elsewhere that the agent / club were asking for way too much money for Aucho and for that reason the deal went dead. It's still a shame though that 3 weeks on and we've still not signed a central midfielder which may now come to bite us in the arse. Here's hoping for a inspirational signing, and fast.
-
I genuinely fear for Saturday. Consi doesn't play well against Celtic let alone at the tattie dome and given this outcome I can't see dm not playing Shinnie in midfield again. It makes you question what they were doing during the whole khalid situation. I thought there were other options?!?

DM has confirmed that Jack is to have surgery and will be out for several weeks... https://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/fp/aberdeen-fc/skipper-jack-facing-surgery-and-lengthy-spell-out/ With McLean being fucking useless at the moment, this isn't great news at all. Think the biggest disappointment is that Jack was actually showing some form again, form which we all knew he had but didn't appear to be capable of rediscovering. Hope it's a speedy recovery. Woohoo to squad depth.

Scotland's Game - BBC1 Thursday 25.8.16

Cheers bobby, will give it a watch! -
I think that's my biggest issue here tlg, and rocket touched upon it too. We're not far off but I'd argue probably another centre half and central midfielder off. We're close, which makes it all the more frustrating. We have a massive game on Saturday, one which we should have a fully settled team for but I don't think we will. Our midfield is powder puff and putting players in positions they shouldn't be. I'm not sure the later in the window the better it is for buyers. We will end up with a loanee which i really don't want us to end up with.

Fucksake, the lack of any news / gossip is worrying, especially with one week to go. Surely McInnes cannot be happy with the squad as it is? We're going to get torn a new one against teams that can play a bit of football.
-
I genuinely couldn't give two shits about the Scotland team anymore. It's just an inconvenience now that stops the domestic season. It's a farce that Shinnie isn't in the squad, let alone mccormack or arfield. But are you really surprised or bothered?
-
Not bothering starting a new topic on this one but the P&J reporting that he's going to sign a new deal. Would be delighted if this is the case.
-
Impressive. Terrible game so far.

Cunts. Albeit it was probably inevitable given magoos inability to live life as a human being. -
Glad to see we've managed to get off the mark finally! McGinns goal was decent
-
Joys of drunken posting. Quite certain that he did say that in an early interview.
-
I think o'connor states in his interview that his preferred position is centre half. I may be making that up but have a distinct memory that that was said.
-
Couldn't believe it when I saw it. Possibly thought it was out of bounds and needed to be put back in play?
-
He seems to constantly want to bring McLean on for Burns when Burns is actually having a decent game. I haven't bothered watching the two league games so far purely on the basis that from what people have said about them hasn't enthused me to do so. I think DM is hoping McLean will come good, possibly by magic or fluke, I'm not sure. It is however, clearly not working for the team at the moment. Bit of a shame to read Pawlett was actually pointless again. Was hoping that he may be turning it around.

The folk trying to pick the ball up at the golf amused the hell out of me Thrilling match between Murray and del Potro. Always like del Potro's game but you could tell that Murray not only wanted it more, but his fitness was far superior.
-
Some brilliant golds today and some excellent cycling! Murray currently 1 set up against Del Potro but 3-2 down in the second set.
-
Its great to read that we appear to be much more solid at the back, but I really don't like seeing someone other than Shinnie at left back. I think someone else alluded to it either in this thread or another about our width. Him not playing there leaves as narrow and one dimensional. We seriously need to start a) creating chances b) taking them. It seriously concerns me that when Hayes is out, we always do fuck all. No point in having a striker like stockley if he's not getting any service whatsoever. How did burns play? Did DM sub him off again? Nice to read elsewhere that Pawlett was motm. I was really surprised at his inclusion, maybe the benching is exactly what he needed.
-
I'd agree with that, certainly at the moment anyway. Confident he'll develop but we've lost Robson and flood, not replaced them. Squad is still thin (apart from up top and possibly at the back). A few injuries and we're fucked again.
