I presume when people talk about being 'active' in all 4 competitions they are describing a couple of 'mini-competitions' within the actual competitions otherwise it would be stretching it to suggest that we are 'still in' for the league title and the UEFA cup. I share TF's view that while I try very hard to step back and be rational about our current position I am currently looking at the fixtures and wondering how my weekends might be spent in the coming months. That's the reality of it.

Had lunch with a strategic investment banker today and he had some interesting things to say about the Hearts set up. Said that UKIO was a very unstable proposition in banking circles at present and that Romanov was raising finance through the Lithuanian state. He was pretty certain that there was money laundering going on and that Romanov was not going to be there much longer. He also said that the planning application for the new stadium was a smoke screen and that it was never going to materialise. The land was purchased for the singular purpose (and with council consent) of building a football stadium but the planning application was lodged including hotels and other additionals. Looks like this has been done intentionally to ensure the planning is rejected and Romanov can blame the myopic council set up for the lack of progress at Hearts. I realise this has all been said before, but an interesting chat none-the-less.

Got to give the guy a chance, not an inspirational signing but let's just see what happens. He might feature on Saturday and do the ex-team thing, I'll take that.

With Hart out and Foster doubtful does that mean we are going to have 'Mare & Byrne in the full back positions again No Miller up front as well. Could be a tough one. Is Mackie fit to play yet ? I'd like to see Aluko, Smith and Lovell up against the plodders in UTDs defence. I reckon Lovell would feed well from balls played in through the channels on the deck.

Its a bit rough when you can be barred from entering any Scottish football ground for shouting and being abusive at a football match. I'm all for eliminating certain aspects of behaviour but I worry about some of my fellow fans (Funster take note ) if this is the standard.
