Why do you not see outfield players taking goal kicks now?

Boring, unentertaining, clueless buffoonery . . . .
baggy89 replied to TENEMENTFUNSTER's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
I don't think the folk who complain about players playing out of position, the team adopting different formations, have to "repeat for the next few seasons until you can finally say I told you so", they are proved correct every time there is a performance like last Saturday. Incidently I disagree with the comments regarding Aluko playing out of position, he is the one player we have, that IMO, can play anywhere across the midfield and up front. Young players will have dips in form. The worrying thing for me is he's not being rested to counteract this and worse is being played through an injury (and folk blame the medical staff at the club for our players endless injuries). And yeah people make mistakes and have off days, this is the first time I have heard Jimmy admit to any in the public domain (probably a good job Andy Considine wasn't playing ). I hope he realises what the mistakes are and rectifies them. Self awareness and an inability to admit to mistakes (in the past) seem to be his downfall and are certainly the two main things that irk me about him. -
That's the English for you, if you've to wear gloves it's time to start driving everywhere at 15mph and braking suddenly if a car 500 yards in front of you has had to stop at a junction. And fuck me if there's a snow flake fluttering down when you look out the window in the morning, you better get on the phone to work to let them know you're snowed in, and get down Asda to buy a trolley load of soup.

I'm guessing Mitchell Meginson is a School boy international and is actually Faroese?
-
I think someone on the hat linked us to him yesterday on the basis that Hivs had been linked to him and Jimmy had bigged him up during his Dunfermilne days. That's probably where this story came from.

Plastic pitch to rule out players against Alloa?

Excuses in early again this week . -
Miller got into the Team of the week down here in fitiver paper the missus bought yesterday, maybe News of the Screws? I assume it's the Glesga press bumming him up for his "dream move" .

Toys still oot the pram over Varga then?

Read his autobiography over the last few days, and was half thinking the same thing. He is desperate to get into coaching and management (and unlike Ince actually stayed for the whole of his UEFA B licence course ), from what I could work out will have his A licence this summer, is bound to be a positive influence on the dressing room, and would presumably still be able to put in a decent shift at SPL level. Add to that he is bound to be getting frustrated as things stand at Hull (not playing regularly). Got to be worth an ask anyway, U21's coach/player contract? Punt Sundy?
-
Aye there was the young lad we signed in the summer who's staying with his sister, he's just a school boy though is he not.
-
mmmm a Porter and Miller front pairing . Aren't some of the Inverness lads in the last six months of their contracts now, Black and Cowie? Any good? Their names are being bandied about elsewhere. Maybe instead of signing some second rate nobodies, like we normally do in January, we should look to get some folk tied up on pre-contracts.

Have they nae gone bust yet? Oh well! There's always next week.

Alex Miller: Dons were wrong to let me go
baggy89 replied to mizer's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
I'm sure you could get that info form soccerbase, I reckon it wouldn't be too bad. It was him that got lucky with Hignett playing us off against 'Boro wasn't it? -
Alex Miller: Dons were wrong to let me go

I was convinced, during his time with us, that he was deliberately trying to destroy us. Nobody could actually be THAT inept. If nothing else this article at least brings home that Jimmy isn't actually that bad, his Nigel Pepper-esque signings just don't get a game (apart from Tommy Wright ). Along with the Dodds transfer was there not a story that we could have had Graham Kavanagh instead of Pepper, but Miller chose Pepper. Makes you wonder what drugs the Liverpool directors were taking when they employed him as a scout. I wonder what signings he would have been responsible for? Djimi Traore? Vengaard Heggem? Bernard Diomede? Bruno Cheyrou? -
The Times reporting that? I could understnd it if it was in The Sport. This country really is going to the dogs, what next "Real Madrid join the race for Aberdeens highly rated utility player Richard Foster".

Yeah! You were shit at being a scout and these players felt you were less of a danger not having anything to do with choosing which players to sign. Is it also a coincidence that Liverpool's best domestic form for 20 years has occurred since you left your job as "first team coach". -
Even the most stubborn of companies would surely pay small amounts before being pursued through the courts for it. All it will do is add court costs to the value of the oustanding monies, which is a ridiculous situation to let yourself get into, unless you desperately need the small amounts to pay the big bills to stop yourself going into receivership.

This comment seems strangely ironic given the prospective outcome. Who is that will be "homeless"
-
Would that apply to loan signings?
-
My Grandad brought me to a Dundee game about 85 or 86 think we won 2-0. That shouldn't have been my first game though. My Dad was going to take me about six months before, however my Mum spent the weeks before winding me up about "hooligans" and I shat it and refused to go at the lat minute.

The only person they have banned so far is the person who took the video, uploaded it to a website where the press found it, and is in fact the only reason the club or anyone bar those present found out about it. It's a very fine line the club are treading. Although I'm sure this lad uploaded because at 14 he thought it was funny. If they don't catch those responsible for the act and punish them it could be taken that the club only punished this guy for posting something that portrayed the club in a bad light.
-
Wondered that when I read the article. So the club are taking the stance that it's alright to shout the abuse but it's not alright to highlight it. I think they have to be very careful that they are not punishing the wrong person as it could quite easily be turned around by the press. Also I assume they will be banning the Rangers fan that reposted the video if he was ever to try to acquire a ticket for an away game at Pittodrie?
