Read his autobiography over the last few days, and was half thinking the same thing. He is desperate to get into coaching and management (and unlike Ince actually stayed for the whole of his UEFA B licence course ), from what I could work out will have his A licence this summer, is bound to be a positive influence on the dressing room, and would presumably still be able to put in a decent shift at SPL level. Add to that he is bound to be getting frustrated as things stand at Hull (not playing regularly). Got to be worth an ask anyway, U21's coach/player contract? Punt Sundy?
-
Aye there was the young lad we signed in the summer who's staying with his sister, he's just a school boy though is he not.
-
mmmm a Porter and Miller front pairing . Aren't some of the Inverness lads in the last six months of their contracts now, Black and Cowie? Any good? Their names are being bandied about elsewhere. Maybe instead of signing some second rate nobodies, like we normally do in January, we should look to get some folk tied up on pre-contracts.

Have they nae gone bust yet? Oh well! There's always next week.

Alex Miller: Dons were wrong to let me go

I'm sure you could get that info form soccerbase, I reckon it wouldn't be too bad. It was him that got lucky with Hignett playing us off against 'Boro wasn't it? -
Alex Miller: Dons were wrong to let me go

I was convinced, during his time with us, that he was deliberately trying to destroy us. Nobody could actually be THAT inept. If nothing else this article at least brings home that Jimmy isn't actually that bad, his Nigel Pepper-esque signings just don't get a game (apart from Tommy Wright ). Along with the Dodds transfer was there not a story that we could have had Graham Kavanagh instead of Pepper, but Miller chose Pepper. Makes you wonder what drugs the Liverpool directors were taking when they employed him as a scout. I wonder what signings he would have been responsible for? Djimi Traore? Vengaard Heggem? Bernard Diomede? Bruno Cheyrou? -
The Times reporting that? I could understnd it if it was in The Sport. This country really is going to the dogs, what next "Real Madrid join the race for Aberdeens highly rated utility player Richard Foster".

Alex Miller: Dons were wrong to let me go

Yeah! You were shit at being a scout and these players felt you were less of a danger not having anything to do with choosing which players to sign. Is it also a coincidence that Liverpool's best domestic form for 20 years has occurred since you left your job as "first team coach". -
Even the most stubborn of companies would surely pay small amounts before being pursued through the courts for it. All it will do is add court costs to the value of the oustanding monies, which is a ridiculous situation to let yourself get into, unless you desperately need the small amounts to pay the big bills to stop yourself going into receivership.

This comment seems strangely ironic given the prospective outcome. Who is that will be "homeless"
-
Would that apply to loan signings?

My Grandad brought me to a Dundee game about 85 or 86 think we won 2-0. That shouldn't have been my first game though. My Dad was going to take me about six months before, however my Mum spent the weeks before winding me up about "hooligans" and I shat it and refused to go at the lat minute.

The only person they have banned so far is the person who took the video, uploaded it to a website where the press found it, and is in fact the only reason the club or anyone bar those present found out about it. It's a very fine line the club are treading. Although I'm sure this lad uploaded because at 14 he thought it was funny. If they don't catch those responsible for the act and punish them it could be taken that the club only punished this guy for posting something that portrayed the club in a bad light.
-
Wondered that when I read the article. So the club are taking the stance that it's alright to shout the abuse but it's not alright to highlight it. I think they have to be very careful that they are not punishing the wrong person as it could quite easily be turned around by the press. Also I assume they will be banning the Rangers fan that reposted the video if he was ever to try to acquire a ticket for an away game at Pittodrie?

P&J: striker can’t understand fans who don’t rate manager
baggy89 replied to manc_don's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Would I not be entirely wrong in saying the increase in the playing budget during Jimmy's tenure would also play a large part in tempting these higher calibre players? Also lets not forget the higher calibre players that have left during Jimmy's tenure. Admittedly a lot of these went to further their career. I think its a pointless exercise naming top players that managers have brought in as lots of our "crap" managers bought decent players. Skhovdahl: Bisconti, Zerouali. Paterson: Hart, Heikenin. W.Miller: Rico, Windass?(was that him or Aitken) A.Miller: Ehm? The main difference is that Jimmy signs players that he never plays, the others signed dross but actually played them or at least gave them a chance. -

Surely it's the players that might be capable of that, that we should be scouting/trying to sign and coaching to that level. That statement is a bit of a cop out as if a striker did score 20 - 30 and left, it would hopefully be for a decent fee. If Jimmy did this, might not have to be a striker necessarily, it would go a long way to changing these fans opinions. I think it is the, we're "not great but not bad" attitude that gets folks back up. Maybe Aluko is that player. -
If you wanted to write him a letter I'd suggest chucking it in the bin, he's bound to find it when he's having a rake for something to eat.
-
I'm quite willing to be proved wrong but I am seriously struggling to think of an occasion where he has gone to the press to accuse a player of costing Man U a game.
-
I wonder why some players are singled out for criticism in the papers, Considine comes to mind. Lets not get into whether they deserve it or not, but why certain players and not others? I'm trying to think of instances of Fergie or Wenger or Mourinho critcising players in the papers. Do they do it?
-
Should have let Sone talk to the papers then, that would have filled the void without alienating him further. Something along the lines of "We were all upset at losing the the last minute goal - that was evident by the me and the gaffers reaction at the end"
-
I completely understand that and that is not my point, what I find unnecessary are the comments in the press today.
-
I'm sure he can take jusified criticism given in the correct manner. Lets hope he can get over the unproffesional way in which the criticism has been given out in this instance and can be the bigger man. Lets also hope that his confidence hasn't taken a knock because of it. I wonder how Jimmy would react if Sone went out gave a spellbinding performance against Rangers on Saturday, as he comes off gives Jimmy the V's shouts "stick that up your arse, cuprinol" then goes to the press saying "That performance was inspite of my managers comments last week not because of them".
-
So why not say "Thats is an internal club matter and I have no comment to make" Instead he repeats something that angered Aluko on Saturday and is going to alienate him further today.
