Dry your eyes mate.
-
Is it that time of the month darling?
-
What's all this fuss about? You'd think Hearts had failed to make it into the top six or something.
-
I'd guess Aluko will go back to Birmingham a better player due to his experience with us, so maybe Mcleish would be happy to send some more promising youngsters up for a season on loan. It's a good idea to have a couple of kids on loan but as the old cliche says, you need a good mix of youth and experience. As you rightly point out, it's not as if there are lots of Aberdeen youngsters bangin' on the first team door.

Foster against Motherwell, again last season. edit - Fosters was to make it 2-0, not a winner. It was an injury time screamer though.

I'm looking forward to the edited version that includes an open-top bus parade down Union Street on May 25th. -
Is not achieving a top six place excusable?

Played 4, Won 1, Drawn 1, Lost 2. Four points from a possible Twelve. It's not rocket science, rocket_scientist. -

I don't agree, our season has been as exciting as we've had for many a year. There's been several disappointments along the way, obviously CIS semi and some dire league form, but there isn't another SPL club that I'd want to swap places with. You talk about only one win in Europe, but we showed lots of character to dig out important draws and without question, we over-achieved. As for the Scottish cup, from the depths of despair in the Celtic game at Pittodrie to the euphoria at Parkhead, it has been unbelievably good. Of course a trophy would be the icing on the cake, but even if we lose in the Scottish cup final I'll still smile when I look back at a season that gave us so many highs, so many moments to cherish. And it's all been done on a shoe-string budget, with a wafer thin squad, and a manager who seemingly doesn't know what the fuck he's doing. Fantastic! -
Only minutes earlier I was explaining to my kids why Chris Maguire is shite, and the wee fella pops up with the goods. Knowing smirks from my nippers, red face for Dad. Who gives a feck, 3 points for the Dandies. On a side note, missing out to Hearts on Goal difference would be a sore one wouldn't it? Not that that will happen of course...

Match day tomorrow, and as usual my optimism grows as the game gets closer. The experts on Scotsport don't think we'll get a top six place, but it's not beyond the realms of possibility that things could take a big swing in our favour tomorrow. Falkirk could easily drop points against a resurgent Killie, and even if Hearts beat Utd (unlikely) they then face Killie next week. If we go into the Falkirk game on Monday week needing a win to secure a top-six place, I think we'll get it. Fingers crossed. -
I had lucky pants when I played football, but I've never had lucky Pittodrie pants. I dont really believe in luck any more anyway, it's a load of pants.
-
Either that, or not wearing any.
-
Maybe this explains why that hun in the 'They hate us...' thread got the shit kicked out of him in Aberdeen, he was wearing his unlucky Rangers top. Shame.
-
Oocha, I don't fancy tackling some of them.
-
Ideal replacement for Steve Lovell?
-
I've heard he's a bit gobby.
-
I'd like to see Aluko on a season long loan, despite flashes of brilliance he's not going to get a game for Birmingham. Loan deals have worked well this season, get Maybury signed up and maybe another striker like Riorden from Celtic. The rest hinges on whether Miller, Lovell and Nicholson stay or go, if they leave then there's a huge hole in the squad and we must bring in equal or better replacements which won't be easy. If we've got an increased budget the club should think about increasing the salary limit so we become more competative when trying to attract players, and hold onto the ones we've got. I'm not talking silly money because we've been down that road before, just enough to tempt guys like Nicholson to re-sign.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AgOuhioFAY This video seems far less painful now! Watch Maguire's reaction when De Vischer scores, he doesn't seem to upset to me. If there is truth in this I'd like to think it's just down to his immaturity and the disappointment of not being picked. My only gripe with Maguire is that he's been shite for most of the season, hopefully he can prove me wrong and start scoring regularly. Good footage of the Tims celebrating in the South stand and WGS running up the touchline. GIRFUY.

On a similar note, I posted this after the Celtic 5-1 game... I'm never wrong. Hopefully now we can secure a top six spot (no big deal really), and more importantly win our next 2 Scottish cup ties. Happy days.

Even if we were blessed with a prolific '25 a season' striker, I'd still want Darren Mackie on the bench. He's one of us, he gets stuck in, and he's still scoring some really big goals for the club. Good work fella.
-
Exactly, not one of us would have said no to this before the season kicked off. Jimmy must go!
-
No, but see those guys in the background...

Sign up for the hat Love, I'm havin' midweek piss-ups for the forseeable future! We are a club that have sold their best, and some of the rest, yet here we are on the brink of a Scottish cup final and Europe (again). I want the Board to back the Jimmys and let's see where we end up. This is the life, these are the games you will tell your kids about, what a season (and dont let a few poor spl results cloud your judgement). I'm old enough to remember the real glory days, but all you young ones take my word for it, this is way better than the fans of any other Scottish club could ever dream of. Where have Aberdeen taken you this season? For me it's been like a fucking fairground, and while most teams got off at the bouncy castle the dons are still on a roller-coaster to .... well ... maybe Gypsy Rose-Lee can tell me where this will end? I see silver on a bus???

Diamond not the only one with a sore face, in the immediate aftermath of the goal I somehow managed to punch myself really hard on the eye socket. Worth it though... In a really perverse way, last weeks injury time equaliser for the Micks has now become a really happy moment. Without that body blow, tonight would never have hapened. I love you Aberdeen, from a very drunk, sore, proud and happy Christian the Slater!
