  1. I dare say Hart would be as determined as any other afc player to end the season with a cup winners medal in his hipper. Especially if it's a uefa cup one.
  2. "Cheer up lads, you're going to win the Champions League in about twenty years."
  3. If they do, does that mean they start next season minus 10 points? Surely that would make promotion from division 1 almost impossible?
  4. I believe they take the players age, international caps, current form, experience, disciplinary record, goals record, speed, height, work-rate, and popularity with the fans into consideration, then discuss what the player himself and his manager believe his worth to be. Then the directors come up with a laughably low weekly wage and haggle with the kid whilst setting unreasonable deadlines for him to make a decision. Then the player signs for Plymouth and we all forget about him, until he gets homesick and moves to Partick Thistle.
  5. Nicnac has a mate who's out of contract. He'll be PM'ing you in due course.
  6. You'd think a club the size of Aberdeen could sort Nicholson out without breaking the wage structure. A wee bonus payment, or a bigger hoose, better club car... surely we could use a little creativity to help the lad make up his mind?
  7. I'm sure I read a quote from Gary Dempsey saying he'd probably have earned more at Aberdeen this season than he has at Yeovill because of UEFA cup bonuses etc. And he could have been playing in some really big televised games. I know I'm preaching to the converted here, but the grass is not always greener. So many young Aberdeen players over the years have learned that the hard way.
  8. Especially if we keep letting players of Barry Nic's calibre leave.
  9. We've got to hear this. Do tell...
  10. Jimmy would probably put you in a position you weren't used to or comfortable with.
  11. Maybe if you offered to make the fantasy threesome a reality Barry would be persuaded to stay? This could also be the carrot used to ensure Jimmy Calderwood and Zander don't go. Go on, do your bit for the dons...
  12. Nicholson is the important one for me, the team needs him with the games ahead, but he'd probably command the highest fee out of the 'Rebels' if he were to go now. Dilemma.
  13. So if we don't get a decent bid for Nicholson he'll be with us until the summer? No bad thing with big games coming up. Chance missed to cash in on Clark however...
  14. That is a total farce if they give it to Burns, the easy feckin option.
  15. Jimmy would be ideal with all his contacts in England.
  16. Nicholson drives a silver VW, might be a Touareg? Last time I looked Smith had a BMW 3 series tourer. Practical family cars for the modern man.
  17. I dont think he'd quit unless he had something else lined up, this could of course all be bullshit but if you add up all the rumours and put them together it does sound like Jimmy and Nicholson to Hearts. Surely not?
  18. He maybe only has one, but the kid's in the nursery there so maybe just 4 years old? I've never bothered him with chit chat or bullshit, doesn't seem right to talk shop when he's dropping a kid at school. Jamie Smiths daughter is a classmate of one of my wee boys, and Russell Andersons kids also went there. Dads doing the school run, what's the feckin world coming to?
  19. Barry Nicholson drops one of his kids off at the same school that my kids go to, I've seen him there every morning for the last 4 or 5 months, but he wasn't there yesterday or today. I just hope he's not been in Edinburgh...
  20. Awwww please no. If he's going, I hope to feck it's to a club outwith the Spl, couldn't handle it if he signed for those minks.
  21. I want him to stay, but that's not to say I'm right or that everything would go tits up if he left. It's just the old 'better the devil you know' scenario. Every season under Jimmy there's been improvement, not in the quality of football I grant you, but in terms of results and league position etc. The thought of returning to the bad old days from the highs we're experiencing now frightens me. Maybe a new manager could be good for the club, but it's human nature to resist change. I'm scared.
  22. I'll be gutted if Nicholson goes, whether it's now or the end of the season. He'll be the hardest to replace in my opinion, and the club should be pushing the boat out to keep him. I also think Zander must be getting some bad advice, he has the potential to become a real hero with the dons fans and could go on to be a modern day Alex McLiesh. Is Billy McNeil still his agent? Hart and Clark can nob off to England for a couple of seasons if they like, as said above both will end up playing Scottish Division 1 football eventually. Ta ta. One thing's for sure, AFC will keep on truckin' regardless of these lads lack of commitment.
