I think they were desperate to impress kow, things just didn't work out for us. Y'know.
-
We hate Butcher, he fucking hates us. He's a cunt. No thanks.

I thought the players battled well tonight, but didn't get any breaks from a very inconsistent referee. There is a togetherness about the squad but also a real lack of quality in certain positions. Ifil is a joke, I know that's hardly ground breaking news but I've honestly played with and against better defenders in the amateur leagues. I wasn't impressed with Folly tonight, thought he looked really ordinary and failed to stamp any authority on the game. Velicka took his goal very well but got pushed about too easily. Otherwise it was decent, Mcardle and Diamond played with real commitment, Jack and Robertson didn't look out of place, Maguire and Aluko were busy and both showed good touches. And a word about that cunt Butcher, someone I've quietly respected as a manager in the past, for him to come on the park and celebrate like that at the final whistle while his colleague in the opposite duggout is on the brink of the sack is disgusting. I hope it's you in that position one day Terry, and I'll be laughing my cock off when it happens.

Two good saves from Esson, we've done ok, fuck knows what the pen was for but to be fair I thought they could have had another a few minutes later. Coyr

That's bottom of the league Barnet, where he's been playing as a centre back. Would have been an inspired bit of business that.
-
We sacked Jimmy after a win.
-
I don't understand why we can't just sack them, this is surely exclusive to the football world? If I fucked up my job as badly as McGhee's fucked up his, I'd have been sacked a long time ago - needless to say without a hint of compensation.
-
To be fair a lot of our better players wanted to move on for their own reasons, so it wasn't all about throwing cash at them. The sacked manager account is a mystery though, I wonder how much it will cost this time?
-
Well the going got tough on Saturday and Hartley was nowhere to be seen. He fucked up badly at Parkhead. Agree about Anderson and Hart, they were never replaced.
-
Like I said manc_don there has been a prudent approach, none of us can really argue with the motives for that, but I feel the boat could have been pushed out a wee bit further especially on the back of the European run.
-
I think Severin was Calderwood's Hartley, albeit a slightly less influential and probably quieter man off the pitch. But Seve led by example on the park. Don't forget we also had Russell Anderson too. I agree though, we had a better squad back then, certainly more balanced, and maybe Hartley would have made the difference in some of those cup defeats. There's a lot to be said for investing in a player who's "been there and done that". Whatever way you look at it we were just a player or two short of being a really good side, and whether you call it prudence or lack of ambition, it boils down to the same thing - lack of backing from the Board.

Board Hoped McGhee Would Resign - Scott Davie in the Scotsman
CtS replied to BobbyBiscuit's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
We shouldn't pay Mark McGhee or his assistants a fecking penny. If we don't get a result tomorrow, and he doesn't do the decent thing and resign, he'll surely be hounded out of the club by furious supporters? I'd be happy for the club to stand their ground but things could get very ugly and embarrassing for MM. If he has an ounce of pride he'll go without collecting the obligatory bumper pay cheque. Maybe then we'll be able to welcome him back when the Gothenburg 30/40/50 year celebration dinners are being held. Otherwise he can fuck off and never come back. -
That's a good point I think, waiting until after the Huns game gives the board time to identify a replacement and gives the new management team an easier start.

Some people might even be hoping we lose on Tuesday against Inverness. Sound familiar?

Still smarting a bit from today's events? Me too, the alcohol which I couldn't face earlier is now flowing but not yet easing the pain. Through mismanagement and poor decision making from the top down we find our club in disarray, our on the field frailties brutally exposed by an expensively assembled Celtic team. Of course the problems go far deeper than that, Scottish football itself took a fair beating today as one of it's proudest and biggest clubs suffered an humiliating defeat that will shock the football world at home and abroad. And it will. So what about us? The ones who really care. Where do we go from here? Some of us will be hoping to take some comfort from an almost inevitable managerial change as a Dons legend, a broken man tonight, clings on to his dream job by his finger nails. Some will find growing levels of apathy drowning out their ability to care any more. Some might even turn their backs on the club for good. Me? I'll see you at Pittodrie on Tuesday. Kids are coming too - on a school night. The club we all love needs us, our spl future means we need the points, the players pulling on those red shirts need our support. We've been here before and the Red Army rose to the occasion. I hope we can again. I'm reading this back through sad eyes tonight, and having a wee toast to the future. Stand free.

Aye, she's getting hers shaved off to raise money for some Liposuction. As for Mr Miller, like his football club I've got a feeling his new tach will be a poor imitation of the old one.
-
I think we should offload Velicka, maybe even a swap deal for a speedy defender who can do a job in either full back position?
-
P&J: McGhee vows to change Dons mentality - Y'know?
-
Yeah that's what I meant. But proper, good quality full backs.
-
I hate it when we sack managers mid season and I hope it doesn't happen to McGhee. We've been in similar situations before (even under Calderwood) and still ended the season on a high. He needs to survive until January and make an inspirational signing or two to give the fans some hope.
-
I suppose the huns would tell us to go fuck ourselves if we asked for this deal to be reversed? Foster still warming their bench, Velicka still looking a million miles from being the signing we hoped he'd be. Got to be one of the worst bits of business the club has done for years. Edit, just re-read the thread and it's the 3rd time I've made such a post. Almost nine weeks since he signed - people get back to full fitness after breaking bones quicker than that! Pished aff, there's a hole in our team the size of Ricky Foster.

1 Rangers 28 2 Celtic 27 3 Motherwell 16 4 ICT 15 5 Hearts 14 6 Dundee Utd 14 7 St Johnstone 11 8 Aberdeen 10 9 Kilmarnock 10 10 Hamilton 9 11 Hibernian 8 12 St Mirren 8 I'm glad top six isn't a measure of achievement, because it doesn't look very likely at the moment. Is avoiding relegation an achievement?

5. A home win and 2 draws.

Totally unacceptable. Forty eight Y'knows in a 5 minute interview? Very sloppy.
